NASA has captured the Japanese Moon Crash Site
A few weeks after Japan's Resilience spacecraft crashed, NASA found the debris on the lunar surface
Resilience was trying to make a historic soft landing in the northern hemisphere of the moon
Mare Frigoris is a volcanic plain with striking wrinkle ridges where the crash occurred
The area was searched for evidence using NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
The LROC suite's right narrow-angle camera captured the detailed pictures
Images were captured from a height of roughly fifty miles above the lunar surface
NASA's images at the landing site reveal a new crater and strewn debris
The images help scientists to understand the crash dynamics and lunar surface changes
Information from the crash site will help ensure a safe landing for future lunar missions.
