Delhi Gears Up for First-Ever Artificial Rain

For the first time in history, Delhi will conduct cloud seeding between July 4–11, 2025, to tackle air pollution and improve air quality

The initiative is spearheaded by the Delhi Environment Department under CM Rekha Gupta, marking a groundbreaking step in pollution control

Technical operations for the artificial rain will be managed by IIT Kanpur, a pioneer in environmental engineering and pollution research

Cloud seeding involves spraying chemicals like silver iodide, iodised salt, and rock salt into clouds to trigger artificial rainfall

Five aerial sorties are scheduled, each lasting 90 minutes and covering 100 sq. km of the capital’s polluted zones

Adani’s global projects in sectors like data centers, airports, and solar energy have expanded its influence beyond Indian borders

Delhi’s dangerous pollution levels, especially in post-summer months, demand bold solutions like cloud seeding to clean the air
