Chaitra Navratri Day 3:
Goddess Chandraghanta
On the third day of Navratri, known as Gauri Puja day
devotees offer prayers and reverence to Maa Chandraghanta.
She is a representation of peace, calm and serenity
.
After Maa Mahagauri married Lord Shiva, she started wearing a crescent moon on her forehead and was then recognized as Goddess Chandraghanta.
Maa Chandraghanta is depicted riding a tiger with ten hands. She holds lotus flowers, an arrow, a bow, and a rosary in four right hands.
One right hand is raised in reassurance (Abhaya Mudra), while the left hand grants blessings (Varada Mudra).
