A violent altercation broke out inside the women’s compartment of a Mumbai local train, resulting in a head injury and widespread concern. A viral video captures two women hurling abuses before the confrontation turned physical, ending with one of them bleeding profusely from the head.
The fight took place during peak hours on a Western Railway special service running from Churchgate to Virar. Packed with office-goers and students, the compartment witnessed hair-pulling, slapping, and shoving near the train entrance. Several passengers attempted to intervene, as seen in the mobile-shot footage that has now gained massive traction online.
GRP Aware, Probe Underway
Officials from the Government Railway Police (GRP) said no formal complaint has been filed yet, but they are aware of the video circulating on social media.

“We are verifying the facts and identifying the time and location of the incident,” a GRP representative stated.

While the exact cause of the confrontation remains uncertain, commuters suspect it may have stemmed from disputes over seating or personal space, common flashpoints in Mumbai’s overcrowded public transport system.
