In a remarkable incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, a man named Arvind facilitated the marriage of his wife to her lover at a local temple after she refused to end their relationship. Arvind had married Rita two years ago, and the couple resided in a village under the Sarai Mohiuddinpur outpost.
However, it later emerged that Rita had been in a relationship with a man named Yashwant before her wedding and had remained in touch with him. Rita eventually returned to her parental home and eloped with Yashwant, according to a News18 Hindi report.

After discovering Rita’s refusal to return or end the relationship, Arvind chose to formalize the separation in an unusual way. He arranged for Rita and Yashwant to be married at the Durga temple in Sarai Mohiuddinpur market. Viral photos and videos show Arvind calmly standing beside the couple, even performing the wedding rituals and blessing them in front of the gathered locals.
Not the First Case in Uttar Pradesh
This incident mirrors a similar case from Sant Kabir Nagar in March, where a man named Babloo allowed his wife Radhika to marry her longtime lover. Married since 2017 and parents to two children, Babloo not only arranged the wedding but also took responsibility for raising the children on his own.
