In a disturbing case from Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, a man allegedly bit off his wife’s nose after catching her with another man. The brutal assault left the 25-year-old woman, identified as Pooja, severely injured.

According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday evening when Pooja went to meet her lover, a resident of the same village. Her husband, Ram Khilawan, reportedly overheard their phone conversation and followed her. A confrontation ensued at the lover’s house, during which Ram Khilawan, in a fit of rage, bit off Pooja’s nose.

“She was initially taken to the district hospital but later referred to a medical college in Lucknow for better treatment,” said Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar. He confirmed that police registered a case based on Pooja’s complaint and took Ram Khilawan into custody. Legal proceedings are underway.

Similar Shocking Case in West Bengal

In an unrelated incident earlier this year, a man in West Bengal’s Nadia district bit off his wife’s nose for a disturbingly different reason, he found it “too attractive.”

The attack happened around 3 AM on May 2, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. Locals rushed to help after hearing the screams of the victim, Madhu Khatun, who emerged from her house bleeding profusely.

Both cases have sparked outrage and raised serious concerns over rising instances of domestic violence in the region.
