A terrifying road accident on Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal Expressway was caught on CCTV, showing a speeding Scorpio SUV flipping in the air multiple times after a sudden tyre burst. The incident, which occurred on Thursday (February 6) near the Kasimabad police station area, left seven passengers injured, including four children. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
High-Speed Crash Captured on Camera
The dramatic footage shows the vehicle, traveling from Delhi to Begusarai, losing control after a tyre burst and crashing into the divider. The impact caused the Scorpio to somersault at least six times before finally coming to a halt on the median. The harrowing visuals highlight the severe consequences of high-speed accidents on expressways.

Passengers Injured, Rushed to Hospital
The accident left all seven occupants injured, identified as Mukesh, Rupesh, Ranjana (wife of Rupesh), and their four children—Ritika, Riya, Riddhi, and Rishabh. They were immediately taken to a nearby Community Health Center, where they received first aid.

The shocking crash comes amid alarming statistics on road accidents in India. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ 2022 report, the country recorded a staggering 4.61 lakh road accidents, resulting in 1.68 lakh deaths and 4.43 lakh injuries. On average, India witnessed 1,264 road accidents and 462 fatalities daily that year.
Among the states, Tamil Nadu reported the highest number of accidents (64,105), while Uttar Pradesh recorded the most fatalities (22,595). Experts emphasise the urgent need for better road safety measures, including stricter speed limits and improved vehicle maintenance, to curb such tragedies.
