In a deeply troubling incident from Versova, Mumbai, a domestic worker was captured on CCTV viciously beating a pet dog inside a building elevator. The horrifying video, now viral on Instagram, shows the man using a leash to hit the dog and kicking the helpless animal as they exited the lift. The footage sparked outrage online and has prompted swift legal action.
The dog belongs to Shriyansi Jain, a resident who was devastated to learn that her trusted servant had assaulted her pet in such a cruel manner. Sharing her pain, Shriyansi said, “This is not just about my dog; it’s about all voiceless animals who can’t speak for themselves. We must be their voice.”
Police Respond, Complaint Filed Against the Servant
Senior Police Inspector Sudhir Kudalkar, a known animal lover and rescuer, shared the video and confirmed the case. “This cruel act serves as a reminder that animal abuse can happen anywhere, even in places that seem safe,” he noted.
