Vrindavan’s monkeys are well-known for snatching sunglasses and returning them only in exchange for a Frooti. Hoping to outplay their tactics, content creator Chandra Darsan tried a new approach. Instead of risking a surprise snatch, he walked up to the monkeys and offered his sunglasses voluntarily — but things didn’t go as planned.
Monkeys Stay Indifferent- At First
In the viral video, Darsan, dressed in traditional attire with a japamala and sunglasses, approaches a group of monkeys calmly. He stretches out his sunglasses, offering them to the monkeys. One monkey lounges on the ledge of an old building, another sits nearby. Both ignore the offer.

Classic Snatch in Style
Believing he had outwitted them, Darsan puts his sunglasses back on and turns to record his reel. That’s when a monkey, waiting for the perfect moment, suddenly leaps from above and snatches the sunglasses straight off his face. The move was swift, leaving no time to react.
A caption on the video read: “Rule sabke liye barabar hai. Jis tarah se liya jata hai, usi tarah se lenge.” (The rule is the same for everyone. We’ll take it the way it’s meant to be taken.)

Darsan posted the clip on Instagram earlier this month. The video has now gone viral with over 4.2 million views, entertaining audiences with this classic monkey mischief.
