A disturbing case of street harassment has emerged from Delhi’s Shivaji Enclave market, where a woman was allegedly followed and inappropriately touched by a drunk man around 9 PM on April 8. The woman, identified as Bhawna Sharma, shared her ordeal on social media, expressing shock and concern over the lack of fear displayed by the accused.
According to Sharma, she was returning home when the man, dressed in a white shirt and casual pants, came up from behind and touched her arms without consent. “I’m on my way home. It’s 9 at night. And a guy comes up, from behind and does that. I couldn’t utter a word,” she said in her video post titled ‘Molester alert’.
In the viral clip, the man can be seen sitting near parked cars, smoking a cigarette. Sharma confronted him while filming, saying he had no fear of the law. “Usse koi dar nahi hai (He has no fear),” she said. “When I was making his video, his reaction was like – Do whatever you want. I will go to jail and come back… For him, jail is like going to a village home and coming back.”

Sharma immediately filed a complaint at the nearest police station. She also revealed the emotional impact of the encounter, sharing that she was too stunned to react in the moment. “I couldn’t think… I didn’t understand what to say. I directly went to the police and he was a drunk man,” she said.
This incident adds to growing concerns about women’s safety in the capital, especially as it occurred on the same night another couple faced harassment by two bikers near National Highway 24. In that case, the wife was inappropriately touched while the men laughed and fled the scene.
As both cases highlight, the streets of Delhi continue to be unsafe for women—even in public spaces and early evening hours. An investigation into both incidents is underway.
