In a brazen daylight robbery in Arrah, Bihar, a Tanishq jewellery showroom was raided at gunpoint on Monday morning. The assailants overpowered security staff and held customers hostage before fleeing with a massive haul of jewellery reportedly worth around Rs 25 crore, although police have yet to confirm the exact figure.

Chaotic Scene Caught on Camera

CCTV footage from the incident shows a group of masked men storming the showroom at approximately 10:30 AM. The robbers forced both employees and customers to raise their hands, creating an atmosphere of terror. One of the perpetrators was seen wielding a pistol, and footage revealed that they had also snatched a firearm from on-duty security guard Manoj Kumar. The group targeted racks filled with gold, silver, and diamond ornaments, hastily packing them into bags before making their escape.

Methodical Execution and Failed Police Response

According to reports, the robbers arrived in a car parked across the street, launching their assault by first neutralizing the security personnel. Staff members described the scene as chaotic. Rohit Kumar Mishra, an employee at the showroom, recalled, “The robbers took our guard’s gun and forced everyone to one side. We hid behind the counter, and they beat us… We couldn’t comprehend what was happening.” Another employee, Simran, stated that despite placing 25-30 distress calls to a police station just 600 meters away, help did not arrive in time, allowing the robbers to escape.

Pursuit and Aftermath

After the initial robbery, a brief face-off ensued between two of the suspects and the police, during which the individuals sustained injuries. Despite the skirmish, the robbers managed to flee with the stolen items. Authorities have now launched a comprehensive investigation and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits involved in the incident.
