A suspect making a brazen getaway from a Johannesburg courtroom in South Africa has left social media users amazed after a viral video emerged showing him doing so. The video raised eyebrows regarding the security at and around the court, with many of them blaming the authorities.

The Suburban Control Centre, a South African defense firm, posted the video on Facebook, captioning:

“Suspect escapes lawful custody at Johannesburg Court in Jeppe when he is appearing for his case. Suspect – Onoshana Thando Sadiki according to Cleveland Cas 96/01/2025 charged with House breaking and Theft.”

Spider-Man-Style Escape Caught on Camera

Sadiki is shown sliding down the court building from the top floor, moving carefully downwards before eventually jumping to the ground and making his escape.

Social Media Reactions: Outrage and Humor

The breakout has caused a flood of responses online, with some condemning sloppy security and others taking a humorous spin.

One said:

“He is showing how he does his job.”

Another added sarcastically:

“And that’s how he escaped. While being filmed. How clever.”

Another user questioned lax security, adding:

“This one is arrested for serious crime and I don’t know why he is not in handcuffs.”

Another said:

“Someone needs to be arrested for this, it’s like in the movies, how did no one notice this (apart from the cameraman obviously). In just over 1 hour, he will be armed, the cycle repeats itself.”

How Did the Suspect Escape?

Sadiki struck while the magistrate was talking, dashing through the courtroom door. He made it to a top-floor window, went out of the building, and started lowering himself down before escaping for good.

Sadiki appeared in court for a hearing after being arrested on charges of breaking and entering and theft. The authorities are now under more pressure over the security breaches that facilitated his escape.
