Famous YouTuber Maximilian Arthur Fosh, better known to his fans as Max Fosh, recently pulled off a shocking feat by simulating his own demise to get a Rs. 4,300 refund from an airline that had refused to refund the cost of his missed flight.

In his video, cleverly titled “I Technically Died,” Fosh demonstrated how he took it to the point of getting a death certificate, planning a fake funeral, and even getting an approval for refund only to finally not accept the money.

The center of Fosh’s prank had a deeper critique of how airlines often refuse refunds, and passengers end up losing money every year. With this push, he went ahead to experiment whether or not he could recover the fare from the airline he had used. While perusing the airline’s terms, he came across that they pay back the money if the passenger has passed on. This made Fosh go ahead to investigate how one might be ‘technically dead’, even going to the extent of exploring outlandish ways to halt his heart.

His unusual solution arrived in the form of the Principality of Seborga, a small Italian town that is a micronation. Fosh went there and was able to obtain a death certificate from Seborga’s princess. To complete the charade, he also attended a mock funeral for himself. With these papers, Fosh presented himself at the airline and got a refund request form. Throughout the video, however, he strongly advises viewers not to try such stunts on their own.

Ultimately, Fosh did not take the refund for himself. His attorney warned him against doing so, stating, “It’s not fraud, but it is fraudulent…Normally I would let you, but this time I really have to put my foot down.” Heeding his attorney’s words, Fosh did not go on to withdraw the sum.

Social Media Reactions

The video ignited a storm of reactions across social media. A user cracked, “Max Fosh is most likely one of the only individuals who actually read through all the terms and conditions just to save himself £37.28.”

Another cracked, “Dude is so petty that he paid for another flight just to get a refund for a flight.”

A third one cheekily noted, “They can’t charge you with fraud if you’re dead.” Meanwhile, someone else also chuckled, “It’s funny how he requested a refund for himself from his death. Surprised no one else has picked that up.”

Max Fosh is a popular content creator known for making videos based on taking advantage of ‘loopholes’ and doing odd social experiments.
