In an unusual and outrageous moment captured on camera, a man was seen virtually attending a Gujarat High Court hearing while sitting inside a toilet. The shocking yet comical incident unfolded on June 20 during a hearing before Justice Nirjar S. Desai, and the video has since gone viral on social media.
Viral Toilet Video From Court Hearing
The man, identified as ‘Samad Battery,’ appears on screen with other participants during a virtual court proceeding. As the session begins, he is clearly seen adjusting his phone while seated on a toilet. The video further shows him cleaning himself before eventually stepping out and relocating to another room, all while still connected to the ongoing hearing.

The video was posted on platform X (formerly Twitter) by @advsanjoy with the caption: “Can we expect litigants to at least not take a dump while attending court! Hey bhagwan! (Oh God!)” The post quickly gained over 85,000 views and sparked an avalanche of reactions, with many expressing disbelief and amusement.
Court Was Hearing Criminal Case
According to official records, the man was involved in a criminal case and had appeared in court seeking the quashing of an FIR. After hearing arguments from both parties, the High Court eventually ruled in favour of quashing the FIR.
Previous Incidents of Inappropriate Behaviour
This is not an isolated episode of courtroom misconduct. In April, the Gujarat High Court imposed a ₹50,000 fine on a litigant for inappropriate behaviour during a virtual hearing. Earlier in March, a Delhi court summoned a man for appearing on video while smoking during legal proceedings.
With remote hearings becoming increasingly common, such incidents highlight the need for litigants to maintain basic decorum, even from home.
