The mishap occurred in Thailand, where Vanathi and her family were getting around the city. Stepping into a shopping district, they entered a Gucci shop, assuming it was an ordinary bag store. Their first big ‘culture shock’ overseas ensued thereafter.

Within the high-end boutique, the family nonchalantly inquired about a small purse’s cost. After being told by the staff that it was 72,000 baht (approximately Rs. 1.8 lakh), they were clearly taken aback and immediately left the shop.
Outside, their responses tugged at viewers’ hearts and senses of humor. A woman cried out, “72,000 for one small bag? I could afford 10 trips to Thailand with that.” At the same time, a man joked, “For a moment there, I thought that was the cost of the entire showroom.”
