In a turn of events from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur, a wedding celebration turned into a tragedy when the groom, Rakesh Kumar, was brutally beaten to death just minutes after tying the knot. The violence reportedly erupted during a DJ-led dance session at the venue.
Brawl Erupts During DJ Celebration
The night had begun with joy and music as guests danced to loud DJ beats. However, a group of youths present at the venue got into a heated altercation with other attendees. The reason behind the fight remains unclear, but when Rakesh’s father tried to intervene, the men allegedly attacked him with sticks.

Seeing his father under assault, Rakesh stepped off the stage to help, but soon became the target of the attackers. Reports state that he was beaten near the door of the bride’s room, and one of the assailants struck him on the head with the buttstock of a gun.
Rushed to Hospital, Declared Dead
Rakesh, severely injured from the blows, was immediately taken to a hospital in Varanasi for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, devastating both families.
Police Action and Arrest
Rakesh’s father lodged a police complaint against the attackers. The Ghazipur police have filed a case against eight individuals and arrested one man who was in possession of an illegal pistol. Authorities are currently on the lookout for the remaining accused.
