A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Qingyuan city in Guangdong province, southern China, on June 23, 2025, sending tremors that shook homes and startled residents. But while most people rushed out for safety, one Chinese boy went viral for doing the unthinkable running back inside to grab food from the dining table.

The now-viral CCTV footage shows a father and his two sons dining when tremors begin. Startled, the father quickly rushes outside with his younger son. The older boy, initially confused, follows them out but makes a surprising return, for the meal they had just begun. He is seen attempting to carry bowls for his family but is told to run by his father. Undeterred, he dashes back a second time to quickly grab a handful of food before finally fleeing the house.
