A peaceful tea break turned into chaos for a group of MPSC aspirants on Saturday evening when a speeding car rammed into a roadside tea stall near Bhave High School in Sadashiv Peth, injuring 12 students. The incident occurred around 5:30 pm and was caught on CCTV.

Car Ploughs Into Students During Tea Break

The shocking footage shows a white Hyundai Aura veering off the road and crashing directly into a group of students standing by the tea stall. In the video, at least five students can be seen waiting by the roadside when the car drives straight into them, pushing them out of the camera frame. Loud wails can be heard as the camera continues recording.

Within seconds, traffic comes to a halt and passersby rush to help the injured. Several people gather around the car, trying to lift it. One man is seen carrying a wounded woman away from the scene, while others work to create space to assist the victims.

Driver Was Allegedly Drunk

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle, the driver, 27-year-old Jairam Shivaji Mule, was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. Along with him, co-passenger Rahul Gosavi and car owner Digambar Yadav have also been arrested.

“Driver Jairam Mule, co-passenger Rahul Gosavi and car owner Digambar Yadav have been arrested. We are investigating and will take strict action against the accused,” DCP Pingle confirmed.

Students Sustain Severe Injuries

Of the 12 injured students, four sustained serious injuries, including fractures. They were immediately admitted to Sancheti Hospital. The rest are receiving treatment at Yogesh Hospital. The victims are all aspirants preparing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination.

An FIR has been filed, and further investigations are ongoing.
