Using everyday items found in her room, she devised a quick and affordable solution. “You can tie the rope to high points like cabinet handles, curtain rods, or wall hooks. Then, by draping the dust sheet over the rope and securing it at the bed’s edge, you can create a lightweight privacy tent,” she explained.

Reports of guests discovering hidden surveillance devices in hotel rooms have been increasing. In 2023, a Chinese couple staying at an Airbnb in Malaysia found a spy camera concealed inside a wall socket, positioned directly toward their bed. To address such concerns, southern China became the first region to introduce strict regulations in February, requiring hotels to ensure that no surveillance equipment is installed in guest rooms.
