Details of the Arrest

The chase unfolded as the suspects attempted to flee in an open Jeep and a Fortuner SUV. However, the police managed to intercept them after a prolonged pursuit. The video shows officers using sticks to restrain the suspects, who were later taken into custody. Those seen running on foot were also apprehended and treated for injuries at the scene.

Weapons Recovered and Legal Action

During the arrest, police recovered a 12-bore double-barrel gun, a .22 rifle, a pistol, 189 live cartridges, and one empty shell. Four criminal cases have been registered at Bajju, Ranjeetpura, and Hadan police stations, and the Forest Department has filed a case for illegal hunting.

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Snehbeer Singh from Ramnagar village near Malout, a close relative of a former SAD MLA from Kotkapura
  • Harjit Singh from Killianwali village
  • Sahil Kataria from Malout
  • Sukhwant Singh from Malout
  • Sukhjeet Singh and Gurkirat Singh from Gharsana, Rajasthan
    A seventh suspect, a minor, is also implicated in the incident.
