The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, was on Sunday stating that US President Donald Trump is set to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, among other dignitaries possibly with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, without announcing specific dates.

In an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, Herzog comments on Trump’s recent proposal to take control and redevelop the Gaza Strip. He declined to comment on what was said by the two at their potential meetings but kept insisting that they need to meet with major partners of the region.

“President Trump is expected to hold discussions with senior leaders of major Arabs, such as the King of Jordan, President of Egypt and possibly Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia,” Herzog said. “These leaders have to be engaged, and their concerns taken in good time for a workable plan in future.”

Jordan’s state news agency has already confirmed that Trump will meet with King Abdullah in Washington on February 11. However, Saudi Arabia has outright rejected Trump’s Gaza proposal, along with several other world leaders. It is reported that during his meeting with Trump, King Abdullah is going to warn that the plan could fuel radicalism, destabilize the Middle East, and endanger Jordan’s peace treaty with Israel.

The White House had not made any comments on Herzog’s statement, and no immediate response was available from officials based in Cairo and Riyadh.
