Security Stops Church Shooter in Michigan

Meanwhile, a security guard shot and killed a suspected gunman who allegedly planned to attack a church in Wayne, Michigan, on the same day.

Police said that two church staff members fired at the suspect, who died from his wounds. One of them, a security team member, was injured after being shot in the leg. Officials confirmed he underwent successful surgery and is expected to recover soon.

Homeland Security Warns of Domestic Threats

Following recent US strikes linked to the Israel-Iran conflict, Homeland Security issued a new warning. Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement, “It is our duty to keep the nation safe and informed, especially during times of conflict.” She warned that the ongoing Israel-Iran tensions could lead to “cyberattacks, violence, and antisemitic hate crimes.”

The Department of Homeland Security also noted in its bulletin that “low-level cyberattacks on US targets are likely.” Officials added that extremists within the US might be inspired to commit violence if Iranian leaders call for retaliation.

Authorities are urging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
