After helping Donald Trump pass the “Big Beautiful Bill,” Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has now taken aim at a new issue — climate modification.
On July 5, she posted on X (formerly Twitter) to announce her plan. She declared that she would introduce a bill to criminalize geoengineering, calling it a “dangerous and deadly” practice.
“It will be similar to Florida’s Senate Bill 56,” she wrote. “We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering.”
What the Bill Proposes
According to Greene, the bill would make it a felony to “inject, release, or disperse chemicals or substances into the atmosphere” to alter weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity.
Clearly, she has made this issue a top priority. She stated, “I’ve been researching weather modification and am now ready to act.”
No Clear Link to Georgia
However, Greene did not explain why weather modification is an urgent issue for her state of Georgia or her constituents. Even so, her focus on this topic is not new.
Past Conspiracies About the Sky
In fact, Greene has previously made similar claims. Back in 2018, she posted a now-deleted theory suggesting that “lasers or blue beams of light” from space solar generators, allegedly controlled by Jewish people, might have started California’s Camp Fire, which burned 150,000 acres and killed 85 people.
Although she later denied making those statements, the controversy had already gained attention.
Aftermath of Hurricane Helene
Following Hurricane Helene in 2024, Greene raised suspicions again. She implied in another post that shadowy forces were behind the storm.
As a result, X added a fact-check note, clarifying, “Hurricanes and other large storms cannot be created artificially with modern technology.”
She Continues to Press the Theory
Nevertheless, Greene has stuck to her position. She continues to claim that certain people “can control the weather.” Although she hasn’t named anyone or provided evidence, she seems determined to move forward with legislation.
