Rapper 50 Cent has launched a fiery attack on NYC mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, offering him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket out of New York after Mamdani mentioned him during a tax plan pitch. The Queens-born rapper posted a clip from Mamdani’s interview on The Breakfast Club, where the candidate discussed plans to raise $10 billion for the city through a corporate tax hike and a 2% increase for the top 1% of earners.

“We’re talking about corporations that are making millions of dollars, not in revenue, but in profit,” Mamdani said on June 11.
“And the second is taxing the top 1% of New Yorkers. We’re talking about people who make a million dollars a year or more… taxing them just by a flat 2% tax increase,” he said. Mamdani even joked about 50 Cent’s reaction: “I know if 50 Cent is listening, he’s not going to be happy about this. He tends to not like this tax policy… but I want to be very clear, this is about $20,000 a year.”
“Where Did He Come From?”
Clearly annoyed, 50 Cent posted the clip on Instagram and wrote, “Where did he come from? Whose friend is this? I’m not feeling this plan. No. I will give him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY. I’m telling Trump what he said, too!”

That last line was a callback to the rapper’s previous Instagram post where he said he would “rat on Diddy to Trump” amid ongoing investigations involving the hip-hop mogul.
The feud has also reignited backlash against Mamdani from sections of the Indian diaspora, after old tweets criticizing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian institutions resurfaced.
Despite the controversy, Mamdani—an India-origin democratic socialist—recently defeated Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary with 43.5% of votes and could become NYC’s first Muslim mayor.
