Elon Musk Urges US-Europe Free Trade Zone Amid Trump’s Tariff Threats

Elon Musk, chief of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), on Saturday expressed his desire for a future with completely free trade between the United States and Europe. Speaking via video link at a congress hosted by Italy’s right-wing League Party in Florence, Musk emphasized the need to eliminate tariffs and create a transatlantic free trade zone.

“At the end of the day, I hope it’s agreed that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in my view, to a zero tariff situation, effectively creating a free trade zone between Europe and North America,” Musk said, as quoted by Reuters.

Prime Minister Meloni also criticized Trump’s trade policy, calling the new tariffs “bad
