Bill Clinton Slams Trump’s ‘I Am the Law’ Attitude: ‘It’s Not America!’

In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, former U.S. President Bill Clinton took sharp aim at Donald Trump, accusing him of undermining the American legal system and values. Clinton expressed disbelief at Trump’s conduct, stating, “We’ve never seen anything like this before in my lifetime somebody that says, ‘Whatever I want should be the law of the land. It’s my way or the highway.’”

Clinton said most Americans don’t agree with this approach, adding that Trump’s leadership style stands in contrast to core American principles.

“Trump Is Becoming Less Popular,” Says Clinton

Discussing Trump’s political tactics, Clinton pointed out the former president’s aggressive behavior, including name-calling and power plays.
“I like to think that he’s paid a price for this, you know, name-calling and throwing his weight around. I think it’s made him less popular,” Clinton remarked.

“Only Elections Will Change This”

Clinton acknowledged that Trump could continue leading as he sees fit but emphasized that the courts and voters will ultimately determine his political fate.
“Only elections are going to change this,” he stated.

Clinton: Trump Seeks to Defy Courts

The former president expressed concern about Trump’s reported attempts to ignore judicial rulings.
“He is looking for ways to basically defy all these court orders. But I think he’ll have a hard time doing that. And if he does, I think it will hurt him in America,” Clinton said.

Clinton added that even judges appointed by Trump are starting to push back. “I do think the courts are getting their dander up,” he said.

“That Ain’t America”: Clinton on Trump’s Attack on Legal System

Clinton also criticized Trump’s efforts to prevent law firms from representing clients in federal buildings due to political disagreements.
“That ain’t America. We’ve never done that,” he said. “The whole purpose of having a legal system is to have both sides be heard.”

A Call for Unity: “We Gotta Calm Down”

Highlighting the deepening political divide, Clinton urged Americans to focus on common ground rather than conflict.
“Someone needs to stand up and say, ‘Damn it, what we have in common matters more. We cannot destroy other people’s trust in us. We need to preserve that and find a way to work together,’” he said.
“We gotta just calm down and try to pull people together again,” Clinton told CBS.

Clinton Defends Biden: “He Was Always On Top of His Briefs”

When asked about claims questioning President Joe Biden’s mental capacity in a recent book, Clinton rejected the idea.
“I thought he was a good president… I had never seen him and walked away thinking, ‘He can’t do this anymore.’ He was always on top of his briefs,” Clinton said.

He admitted he hadn’t read the book and didn’t plan to. “I didn’t want to. ’Cause he’s not president anymore, and I think he did a good job,” he added, suggesting the book may be a political tool to shift blame to Biden for Trump’s comeback.
