Victoria Beckham shared her immense pride after her husband, David Beckham, was knighted. He was knighted in King Charles III’s Birthday Honours list for his contributions to sport and charity.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote: “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir David Beckham!!! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you.”

Victoria Celebrates as David Beckham Becomes “Sir David”

The former England football captain, who played 115 times for his country, had already received an OBE back in 2003. Now officially “Sir David Beckham,” the football star was honoured again. This time for a lifetime of achievements on and off the pitch.

Victoria praised David’s passion, humility and devotion, writing, “Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered… The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday.” She added, “Above all else, I’m so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much.”

Family Joy And Subtle Tensions

David, who married Victoria in 1999, responded with love, writing “I love you all,” and mentioning each of their four children—Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. His reference to Brooklyn was seen by many as an attempt to mend ongoing family tensions.

Reports suggest that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz only learned of the knighthood through media reports.

Still, a source said, “Brooklyn is so happy for his dad as he knows it was something important to him.”

Romeo, David’s son, shared a photo with his dad on Instagram Stories, writing: “So so proud of you.”

In an interview, David said: “I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment.” He added, “It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”

David Beckham’s legacy encompasses a decorated football career and his significant charity work. He also has his fashion ventures and business roles, including co-owning Inter Miami and leading Studio 99.
