Punjabi vocalist Sunanda Sharma was left devastated recently when her high-end vehicle was burgled while visiting London. Posting on Instagram, she posted a clip that reflected broken glass within and about her black Jaguar, indicating that valuables to the tune of lakhs had been pilfered.
The items stolen were a suitcase, a handbag, and two Louis Vuitton bags. Describing in Punjabi while pointing to the damage, Sunanda remarked, “Everything is gone… Both were my favourite. They’ve taken everything.” Though visibly shaken, she remained calm while describing the episode.
She posted, in the caption, “Ve main jehde paase vekhaa, mainu chor disde. UK waaleyo eh koi gal te nai na. Sari raat neend nai aayi baadshaho. Kehda LV te Kehda Prada, oh gya oh gya oh gya.” She also thought that maybe theft saved them from something worse.

The incident points to a worrying trend in London where celebrities and high-end vehicles are the most common targets for theft and break-ins. Similar concerns were previously raised by Indian singer B Praak when during his UK tour, his car was broken into. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and singer Aitch have also experienced similar incidents in the city.
Footballers have also not been exempted. In July 2019, former Arsenal players Mesut Özil and Sead Kolašinac were almost mugged at knife point for their watches. While Özil remained inside the vehicle, Kolašinac fought off the attackers courageously.
This is not the first time that Sunanda Sharma was in the news. Last year, she approached the police and registered a complaint against music producer Pinky Dhaliwal for financial exploitation and mental harassment. In a post that is since deleted, she wrote that the incident had left her severely traumatized and she had spent hours in tears, crying about self-inflicted wounds.
Sunanda rose to fame with her first song Billi Akh and subsequently released a series of hits such as Jaani Tera Naa, Patake, and Tere Naal Nachna. She has also established herself in Punjabi cinema.
