Virat Kohli announced his retirement from the Test cricket on Monday, and a day later, he and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, were clicked in Vrindavan at Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj’s Kelly Kunj Ashram. Videos and images of the pair are surfacing on social media, where they are seen asking for the blessings of the Shri Premanand Maharaj Ji. But what caught our attention was that the duo has fully surrendered to spirituality and also regularly chant mantras on a japa mala. However, unlike the standard string of beads, they are employing the digital version of japmala and the viral pictures are the proof.
Couple’s Spiritual Journey Includes Visits to Holy Places
In the last couple of years, the couple can be spotted going to the spiritual destinations such as Vrindavan, Kainchi Dham at Shri Neeb Karori Baba’s Ashram, and other similar locations. But now that they have shown up, it is suspected that the couple has gone through the bhakti because adopting a japa mala has some duties attached to it. One must do a round of 108 beads every day, as advised by a guru. This can come when a person is free from responsibilities or doesn’t again in any social gathering that consumes their time.
Anushka Sharma has remained away from the industry for years. Her last release was Zero, and she was going to feature in a biopic, Chakda ‘Xpress, which is to be released in 2023, but the makers have kept mum on the release date. Not only this, but she has also resigned from the production duty and does not visit any Bollywood party. This leaves her with a plenty of time for japa mala.
Virat Kohli meanwhile, was occupied with his cricketing career. But now that he has announced retirement from Test cricket, it gives him time to take care of his business all over the country and follow the advice of the spiritual gurus.
The couple has abandoned their fame and glory life to tread the path of spirituality, but in a digital sense.
