Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Friday gave a passionate speech in Uttar Pradesh’s city of Kanpur and stated that the world saw the fire power of India’s native BrahMos missile in a military clash with Pakistan.
“The world witnessed the power of Make in India and its weapon through Operation Sindoor. Our Indian weapons (systems), including the BrahMos missile, entered the enemy territory and caused havoc. The explosions happened on target. We have received this power from our resolve for Aatmnirbhar Bharat,” PM Modi said.
Call for Self-Reliance: India’s Journey from Dependence to Aatmanirbharta
Highlighting India’s resolve to become Aatmanirbhar, the Prime Minister recalled a time when the nation was not self-reliant. Back then, India had to depend on other countries. Even for its own security. He emphasized how crucial self-reliance is for national strength and dignity. He stated that becoming Aatmanirbhar was essential for the self-esteem of the nation.
“There was a time when India depended on other countries for its safety. We have tried to change these circumstances. India becomes Aatmanirbhar, it is good for the economy, but it is also important for the country’s self-respect,” PM Modi said.
India’s 3-Point Rule on Terror Announced by PM Modi
Evaluating India’s new strategic approach, PM Modi established a three-principle framework for combating terror.
- Each terror incident will be responded to. The response will be decided upon by the Armed Forces as to its nature and timing.
- India will not be intimidated by the empty atom bomb rhetoric.
- India will address masters of terror as well as the government patronizing terrorists in the same manner.
Development Push: ₹47,600 Crore Projects Launched in Kanpur
PM Modi was addressing a function in Kanpur wherein he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 15 development projects worth ₹47,600 crores.
He also flagged off the new corridor of Kanpur Metro between Nayaganj and Chunniganj. PM Modi also targeted Pakistan directly and warned against “sponsoring” terrorism and said that India will respond strongly to every terrorist attack.
“If I say this straight in Kanpuriya: Dushman kahin bhi ho, honk diya jayega (Wherever the enemy is, they will be hit),” he said, drawing loud cheers from the audience.
No Fear of Nuclear Threats, Says PM Modi
“India will not be scared of hollow threats of an atom bomb and won’t take decisions on this basis (of such a threat). India will look at the ‘aaka’ of terrorism and its sponsoring government with only one view: Pakistan’s state and non-state actors…this game will not work anymore,” PM Modi said.
