</excerpt>

Public places in the United States have increasingly been the backdrop for more bizarre and violent occurrences. Social media sites are flooded with videos of surprise fights, and this reflects the rising turbulence in public places. The latest incident of this kind occurred at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and was immediately all over the internet.

It escalated into a chaotic brawl that broke out at Terminal 3, in the American Airlines ticketing area where four men engaged in a fight. According to the witnesses, it was almost a WWE wrestling match, complete with the use of wet-floor signs as weapons.

In the video footage, a man in a white shirt was seen desperately fighting off three attackers. The man was using his strength to throw the attackers down to the ground. He also used a broken wet-floor sign like a professional wrestler. He even ripped out several of the attacker’s dreadlocks and held them up like a trophy.

Watch:

Three men attacked a single male inside O’hare airport . #Chicago pic.twitter.com/UrCART6HU6

— Goofies Of Chicago (@Chicago_Goofies) December 13, 2024

The situation ran riot when the man took up a metal stanchion and raised it menacingly, forcing his opponents to withdraw and end the chaotic scene.

The individuals involved in the brawl were identified as concession stand workers at the airport, not American Airlines employees, so that clears up some confusion. Chicago police responded quickly to the incident, but no one was arrested. Authorities reported that the altercation did not affect other travelers, but the reason behind the fight remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.

</excerpt>

Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed reports Friday night when New York State’s Stewart International Airport experienced a strange drone activity near that forced an hour-long shutdown as local authorities managed to respond with measures regarding the blocking airspace.

Concerns over drone sightings have increased across New York and neighboring states. Similar incidents have recently occurred in New Jersey, scaring citizens and lawmakers.
The FBI has received over 3,000 tips from investigations mostly at night time.
Governor Hochul termed the repeated disruptions caused by drones as unacceptable, saying, “This has gone too far.”

The recent shutdown of Stewart Airfield near New Windsor, north of Manhattan, is one of several such incidents in the region. Within 24 hours of the airport’s closure, the New York State Police (NYSP) received numerous reports of drone activity. However, the NYSP clarified that the sightings did not pose an immediate threat to public safety.

Federal agencies, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, said Thursday that, as of now, there is no evidence that the drone activity poses a national security threat. The two agencies are working together with local authorities to dig deeper into the matter.

In response to the incidents, Governor Hochul had earlier directed the NYS Intelligence Center to conduct a thorough investigation. She implored Congress to pass the Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act Saturday. This bill would give state and local governments more power to control the use of drones and bolster efforts to combat Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Hochul emphasized the need for federal funding to protect critical infrastructure, calling on the Biden administration to provide more resources to New York and its neighboring states.

New Jersey has also experienced the rise of drone sightings. On Friday, Governor Phil Murphy wrote to President Joe Biden requesting further federal support to handle the issue. The New Jersey State Police have been probing reports of UAS activity since November 18. Despite assistance from DHS and FBI, Murphy wrote about the need for more resources in order to conduct a more comprehensive investigation.

Murphy also called for Congress to reauthorize federal counter-UAS authorities, warning that the lack of appropriate legislation would limit the ability of state and local law enforcement to respond to the threat. He also requested the state to provide better tools for detection and mitigation to local authorities so that response capabilities could improve.

To add to this discussion was former President Donald Trump weighing in on the drone sightings in his national address Friday night. In his posts on Truth Social, the former president bashed the Biden administration for holding back crucial facts in the probes. According to him, if it is a danger, shoot down these drones, and ensure enough information is disseminated concerning cases that have not yet been solved.

</excerpt>

French President Emmanuel Macron named Francois Bayrou France’s third prime minister of 2024 on Friday. The veteran centrist was tasked with navigating the nation through its second significant political crisis in six months.

Bayrou will face an immediate test as he looks to ensure passage of a special law that would extend the 2024 budget. However, the battle over the 2025 budget is likely to be much more contentious, having already led to the fall of Michel Barnier’s government earlier. Bayrou, who is 73 years old and a close ally of Macron, is expected to unveil his ministerial team soon but will face stiff tests in getting legislation passed through a fractured parliament divided into three rival blocs. His association with Macron, whose popularity has declined drastically, may also be an issue.

The political instability has not only put Macron’s ability to complete his second term, slated to end in 2027, into question but also has negative implications for France’s borrowing costs and created a vacuum in leadership in Europe on the heels of Donald Trump’s impending return to the White House. Macron has been meeting political leaders of all stripes, except far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen and hard-left France Unbowed, to drum up support for Bayrou. Bringing Socialist Party into the mix might be a very costly step for Macron’s government.

“Now we will see how many billions the support of the Socialist Party will cost,” quipped a government adviser on Friday.

No Elections Before Summer

Macron hopes Bayrou can wait until summer for no-confidence votes that will allow France to go to new parliamentary elections. If the government collapses, though, Macron’s presidency will be in trouble again. Bayrou, who founded the Democratic Movement (MoDem) party and has been part of Macron’s coalition since 2017, brings political experience. Previously, he served as justice minister but resigned amidst a fraud investigation for which he was recently cleared.

Future Challenges for Bayrou

His first major test will come when the budget for 2025 is debated early in the new year, as part of a belt-tightening exercise to bring down France’s 6% deficit and reassure investors. Barnier’s earlier push for €60 billion in cuts has been rebuffed by the combined strength of the far-right and the left-wing factions, causing further gridlock in the National Assembly. Governance becomes treacherous, and Bayrou will have to carry the weight of the stability almost in dependence on the president’s political foes and friends.

France’s political environment is broken, and this will create difficulties for Bayrou as he goes from day to day trying to tackle problems.

It was a flight on the route El Bajío – Tijuana. A passenger attempted to divert the aircraft towards the United States.” He said further, “Thanks to the professionalism and fast reaction of our crew, security procedures were activated, and the flight was diverted to Guadalajara airport.”

We saw one right up above us that was the size of our car. I mean, it’s crazy.”

These sightings were also made around the world, for instance, a UFO in Latvia, which was said to have been “perfectly still” till it slightly tilted and vanished. Other mysterious flying objects were also sighted in China and France.

It looks as if it’s made of cardboard and latex house paint.” A third guy was more analytical; he theorized that this “This is simply from diatoms at the bottom of swamps releasing positive ions into the carbon layered floor of glacial moraines that cause a reaction in the atmosphere that cause photons to explode and release methane.”

Other reactions included, “An Alien putting its wheelie bin out, its collection day tomorrow.” One user questioned, “What’s weird to me is that if they’re real and this a draft why all the different shapes? Why are some just floating and some actually moving?”

</excerpt>

About a week after President-elect Donald Trump joked to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada should join the United States as the 51st state, Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social teasing Trudeau. The image, which shows Trump standing near a Canadian flag with a mountainous backdrop, was accompanied by the caption “Oh Canada!”

This post came a day after Fox News reported that during Trudeau’s visit to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump suggested that Canada could become the 51st state if US tariffs harmed its economy. The president-elect had threatened to impose 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods if both countries did not address illegal immigration and illicit drugs entering the US.

Canada addressed Trump’s comment through Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc, who was present at the Mar-a-Lago dinner. LeBlanc clarified that Trump’s remark was not serious, stating, “The president was telling jokes. The president was teasing us. It was, of course, on that issue, in no way a serious comment.”

</excerpt>

In an interview with Sky News, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the possibility of a ceasefire with Russia amidst ongoing tensions, which have escalated since the US elections in November. Zelenskyy outlined the terms for a potential ceasefire, stating that it could be achieved if Ukrainian territory currently under his control were integrated into the “NATO umbrella.” He emphasized that NATO’s recognition of Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders could help de-escalate the situation.

Zelenskyy explained, “If we want to stop the hot phase of the war, we need to take under the NATO umbrella the territory of Ukraine that we have under our control.” He added, “We need to do it fast. And then on the [occupied] territory of Ukraine, Ukraine can get them back in a diplomatic way.” He also underscored that NATO membership would be key in protecting Ukraine from further Russian aggression, stressing the need for a “guarantee that Putin will not come back” to seize additional Ukrainian land.

In addition to his remarks on the ceasefire, Zelenskyy shared his openness to working with President-elect Donald Trump after his inauguration on January 20, 2025. Despite his strong ties to the Joe Biden administration, which has been crucial in supporting Ukraine’s efforts, Zelenskyy stated, “I want to work with [Trump] directly because there are different voices from people around him. And that’s why we need not to [allow] anybody around to destroy our communication.” He continued, “It will be not helpful and will be destructive. We have to try to find the new model. I want to share with him ideas and I want to hear from him.”

As she garners significant support from friends and family, a recent viral video has drawn attention to the correct pronunciation of her name.

In the video, actor Kerry Washington addressed the audience about any confusion regarding Harris’s name. “Some folks struggle, or pretend to struggle, with pronouncing our future president’s name. Confusion is understandable. Disrespect is not!” Washington said.

She then introduced Harris’s great-nieces, Amara and Leela, daughters of Harris’s niece Meena Harris, to demonstrate the pronunciation. Amara explained, “First you say ‘Kama,’ like a comma in a sentence,” while Leela added, “Then you say ‘La,’ like ‘la-la-la-la-la.’”

</excerpt>

Barron Trump, the only son of Donald and Melania Trump, is set to start university in a few days, though his parents have been discreet about which college he will be attending. Barron himself has maintained a low profile recently, notably being the only Trump family member absent from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July.

While Donald Trump announced on July 9, 2024, that Barron would be attending college after completing his schooling, he did not disclose which institution his son chose. At a rally in Florida, Trump stated, “He’s now going to college, got into every college he wanted to. He made his choice and he is a very good guy.” Although the specific university remains a mystery, it’s speculated that Barron might follow in the footsteps of his older half-siblings, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, who attended either the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

According to the University of Pennsylvania’s academic calendar, the fall semester for 2024 began on Monday, August 19, with classes starting on August 27. Georgetown University’s fall semester will welcome new undergraduates on August 22 and 23, with classes commencing on August 28, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.

There were also rumors in April suggesting that Barron might attend New York University (NYU), which is near Trump Tower in Manhattan. Barron spent much of his childhood in Manhattan before moving to the White House when his father was elected the 45th president of the United States. The Trump family later relocated to Florida. At NYU, living on campus is optional, but “first-year residents of Manhattan-based schools are assigned to Manhattan residence halls only. There are no exceptions,” according to the university’s website. NYU’s fall semester is scheduled to begin on September 3.

</excerpt>

British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch is currently missing following the sinking of a superyacht off the coast of Sicily. The British-flagged vessel, named Bayesian, was a 56-meter sailboat carrying 22 people. It sank near the port of Porticello in the early hours of the morning, following a violent storm. The Italian coastguard reported that one person, believed to be the yacht’s chef, was confirmed dead. Six others, including Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah, remain unaccounted for.

The yacht, which was anchored off shore, was struck by a tornado-like waterspout, which is a rotating column of water and wind. Reports indicate that the vessel was hit by a waterspout around 3:55 am, shortly after which a distress flare was seen. Fishermen in the area saw the distress signal but were only able to retrieve scattered debris from the yacht. The stormy conditions have been compounded by severe weather across Italy, including floods and landslides in the north.

Rescue operations have managed to save 15 people, including Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, who owned the boat, and a one-year-old girl rescued by her mother, Charlotte Golunski. The rescued individuals have been transferred to hospitals in stable condition. Golunski described the harrowing experience of keeping her daughter afloat amidst the chaos, while other survivors have been reported as deeply traumatized by the ordeal.

The yacht, built in 2008 by the Italian shipbuilder Perini, had an aluminium hull and was capable of reaching speeds up to 15 knots. It left the Sicilian port of Milazzo on August 14 and was last tracked near Palermo with a navigation status of “at anchor” before the incident.

The Italian coastguard is actively searching for the missing and investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the UK Foreign Office has offered consular support to the affected British nationals and their families. Lynch, a prominent figure in the tech industry known for co-founding Autonomy, was recently acquitted of fraud charges related to the sale of his company to Hewlett-Packard. His family and colleagues are anxiously awaiting further developments in the search and rescue operation.

The London Fire Brigade confirmed the situation via their official account on X (formerly Twitter), stating that crews were actively working to control the fire. Meanwhile, the official X account of Somerset House initially acknowledged the fire and announced the site’s closure but later deleted the post.

Somerset House, which opened in 1796, is a well-known cultural centre in central London, hosting a variety of events, including summer music gigs and a popular winter ice rink. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, but the extent of the damage to this historic site remains unclear at this time.

</excerpt>

Paetongtarn Shinawatra, known as Ing, has made history as Thailand’s youngest Prime Minister at 37. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the niece of Thailand’s first female Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra. Her rise to power follows the dismissal of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin by a court for constitutional violations. Nominated by the ruling Pheu Thai Party, Paetongtarn has now become the second woman to hold the office.

In a statement after her nomination, Paetongtarn said, “The country has to move ahead.”

Born in Bangkok, Paetongtarn is a major shareholder in SC Asset Corporation and serves as a director at the Thaicom Foundation. She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, and Anthropology from Chulalongkorn University and a master’s in International Hotel Management from the University of Surrey.

Political Trajectory

Paetongtarn’s political career began in 2022 when she was elected as ‘Head of the Pheu Thai Family,’ positioning her as a prime ministerial candidate. Despite her limited political experience, her nomination has been significant, though not without controversy. She faced criticism for her remarks on the Bank of Thailand’s independence, which she described as an “obstacle” to addressing economic issues. Thitinan Pongsudhirak, a political scientist at Chulalongkorn University, noted, “She will be under scrutiny. She will be under a lot of pressure…She will have to rely on her father.”

The Shinawatra Dynasty

The Shinawatra dynasty, beginning with Thaksin Shinawatra, has been a major force in Thai politics. Thaksin, a former police officer and telecommunications magnate, served as Prime Minister from 2001 until his ousting in a 2006 military coup. His political influence persisted through his sister, Yingluck, who served as Prime Minister from 2011 until the military coup in 2014. Paetongtarn’s appointment comes amidst ongoing political turbulence, with her party forming an alliance with the military to secure the premiership.

The Shinawatra family’s rise mirrors a broader trend in Southeast Asia, where political dynasties continue to consolidate power, as seen with the Marcoses and Aquinos in the Philippines, Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Indonesia, and Hun Manet in Cambodia.

After retiring from cricket, Mortaza joined the Awami League in 2018 and was elected as an MP.

The unrest is also affecting cricket events, with the ICC monitoring the situation closely and considering relocating the Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled for October. The violence has persisted even after Hasina’s departure, with a mob attacking the Sherpur District Jail during a curfew, vandalizing the facility, freeing over 500 inmates, and stealing weapons and valuables.

In the absence of Hasina, Bangladesh will be governed by a caretaker government led by the military.

</excerpt>

Rupert Murdoch, the renowned media magnate who stepped down from the boards of Fox and News Corporation last year, married Elena Zhukova on Saturday at his Moraga vineyard estate in Bel Air, Los Angeles, according to The New York Times (NYT).

In an outdoor ceremony under clear skies, 93-year-old Murdoch and 67-year-old Zhukova exchanged vows. Zhukova, carrying a bouquet of white flowers, wore a stunning ankle-length, off-the-shoulder white dress reportedly designed by Emilia Wickstead, while Murdoch opted for a dark suit paired with sneakers. Notable guests included Robert K Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, and Robert Thomson, CEO of News Corp.

As reported by The Daily Mail last summer, the couple’s relationship began through Murdoch’s third wife, Wendi Deng. Zhukova, a retired molecular biologist who immigrated to the US from Moscow in 1991, was previously married to billionaire energy investor Alexander Zhukov, according to NYT.

While details of their courtship remain private, reports suggest they spent weeks vacationing on the Mediterranean aboard the private motor yacht Christina O, once owned by Aristotle Onassis. Their engagement was confirmed in March.

This marriage follows Murdoch’s called-off engagement to Ann Lesley Smith, a retired dental hygienist and conservative radio host. Murdoch proposed to Smith last spring, but the engagement was called off after less than a month.

Zhukova’s marital history is less publicized. She met her first husband, British citizen Alexander Zhukov, while both were students in the Soviet Union. Their marriage, which lasted three years, produced a daughter, Dasha Zhukova, an entrepreneur and socialite, as reported by The New York Times.

</excerpt>

Tesla CEO Elon Musk embarked on a surprise visit to China on Sunday, as reported by news agency Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter. China is the second-largest market for the electric vehicle giant.

Musk’s trip to China follows the postponement of his visit to India last week due to ‘Tesla obligations.’ The original plan was for him to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and announce Tesla’s entry into the Indian market.

During his visit to China, Musk aims to meet with senior Chinese officials in Beijing to discuss the rollout of Full-Self Driving (FSD) software in China. He also seeks approval to transfer data collected in China abroad to train algorithms for Tesla’s autonomous driving technologies, according to Reuters.

Responding to a query on the social media platform X, Musk mentioned that Tesla may introduce FSD to customers in China “very soon.” However, Musk’s visit to China was not widely publicized.

Since 2021, Tesla has stored all data collected by its Chinese fleet in Shanghai, complying with Chinese regulations. The company has not transferred any data back to the United States.

Despite customers’ requests, Tesla has not yet made FSD available in China. FSD is the most autonomous version of its Autopilot software, introduced four years ago.

</excerpt>

Taiwan reported renewed Chinese military activity near the island on Saturday, as 12 aircraft crossed the sensitive median line of the Taiwan Strait. This occurred a day after US Secretary of State concluded a visit to China.

The United States is Taiwan’s key international supporter and arms supplier, despite the absence of formal diplomatic ties. Blinken emphasized the “critical importance” of maintaining peace and stability across the strait during his visit to China.

Taiwan, a democratic state, has faced escalating military pressure from China, which considers the island its own territory—a claim Taiwan’s government rejects.

Taiwan’s defense ministry noted that 22 Chinese military aircraft, including Su-30 fighters, were detected from 9:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday, with 12 crossing the median line towards Taiwan’s north and center. The median line, an unofficial border, was once respected by both sides, but China now regularly sends aircraft over it, stating it does not recognize its existence.

The defense ministry stated the Chinese aircraft were involved in “joint combat readiness patrols” with Chinese warships, and Taiwanese aircraft and ships responded “appropriately,” without providing further details.

China’s defense ministry did not respond to calls seeking comment outside of office hours on Saturday.

Taiwan’s armed forces are well-equipped and trained but significantly smaller than China’s, especially in naval and air power, which respond nearly daily to Chinese missions.

China regards Taiwan as the most important issue in its relations with the United States and has repeatedly demanded an end to US weapons sales to Taiwan.

President-elect Lai Ching-te, who assumes office on May 20 after winning January’s election, has been labeled a dangerous separatist by Beijing, which has rejected his calls for talks. Lai stated on Thursday that China should have the confidence to engage with Taiwan’s legally elected government, echoing outgoing President Tsai Ing-wen’s stance that only Taiwan’s people can determine their future.

</excerpt>

At least 155 individuals have lost their lives due to flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains in Tanzania, according to Al Jazeera. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, in a parliamentary address, attributed the severity of the current rainy season to the El Nino climate pattern, leading to widespread flooding and damage to infrastructure.

“The heavy El Nino rains, accompanied by strong winds, floods, and landslides in various parts of the country, have caused significant damage,” Majaliwa stated. He also pointed to unsustainable farming practices such as “slash and burn” agriculture, uncontrolled livestock grazing, and deforestation as contributing factors to the disastrous impacts of the rains.

Majaliwa reported that more than 51,000 houses and over 200,000 individuals were affected by the rains. Emergency services are working to rescue those stranded by flooding, and schools have been closed due to inundation, as per Al Jazeera.

Additionally, over 226 people have been injured due to the floods and rains in Tanzania, as heavy downpours continue to affect East Africa. The El Nino weather phenomena, which is linked to rising global temperatures, droughts, and heavy precipitation, is a natural occurrence.

The East African region has experienced unusually heavy rainfall during this rainy season, with reports of flooding also coming in from neighboring Burundi and Kenya.

</excerpt>

Overnight, “at least five migrants, including a child, died” while attempting to cross the Channel from France to Britain on an overcrowded small boat, local authorities have confirmed. The incident occurred on a dinghy carrying “110 people from the beach in Wimereux, near Boulogne-sur-Mer.” After hitting a sandbank, the boat returned to sea where a crush occurred on board, resulting in several casualties.

“The migrants had attempted to cross when the sea was calm but the temperature was barely above zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit).” This marks the latest in a series of such tragedies as migrants, mainly from the Middle East and Africa, risk the dangerous sea crossing in search of a better future in Britain.

“So far this year, at least 15 people have died” attempting to reach English shores. This includes the recent death of “a seven-year-old Iraqi girl named Rola in the capsizing of an overcrowded migrant boat in the Aa canal.” The increased patrols along the French coast have led migrants to board boats on inland waterways to reach Britain.

“The British government, facing pressure to address the crossings, processed 5,373 migrants landing in southeast England in the first three months of this year.” The UK Prime Minister’s government is committed to ending these tragedies and the illegal smuggling trade, which jeopardizes so many lives. They aim to break the business model of the smuggling gangs responsible for these perilous journeys.

Following these tragic events, “controversial plans by the UK government to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda have progressed in parliament,” despite calls from the United Nations and Europe’s highest rights body to reconsider.

</excerpt>

The airstrikes within Iran, from the brotherly neighbor country Pakistan leads to the death of at least seven people. The airstrikes were launched aiming at the Baluchi militant groups.

The airstrike from Pakistan comes two days following Iran’s airstrike on Pakistan.

In the revert from Pakistan, several missiles were launched hitting the border village in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province, a security official from the province said. The officials added that at least three women and seven children were killed in one of the explosions.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry called that the violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is “completely unacceptable” and also issued warning over serious consequences. It further said that Iran has taken this action despite the existence of several channels of communication between the two nations.

Answering to India’s stance in the war, India calls the tension a matte between Iran and Pakistan. “This is a matter between Iran and Pakistan. Insofar as India is concerned, we have an uncompromising position of zero tolerance towards terrorism. We understand actions that countries take in self-defense,” New Delhi said in a statement.

</excerpt>

The government of South Korea on Tuesday (January 9), passed a Bill that calls for a complete pause on the production and sale of dog meat. Post this decision the campaigners hailed in joy celebrating it as a ‘historic victory’.

The bill separates from criminalizing the consumption rather aims to completely ban the breeding and the distribution of dogs for their meat by 2027. Earlier cow’s meat was majorly consumed but because of its high price and as it also needed a government permit to slaughter people jumped to dog’s meat as the best replacement source of protein and was enjoyed by many.

With the spike in pet ownership and the high awareness of animal welfare groups, the practice of slaughtering dogs dropped. The latest survey reported by The New York Times says 93% of South Korean adults refused to consume the dog’s meat whereas 82% supported a ban.

What does the Bill say?

The Bill stands in favor of having a complete pause in the cruel slaughtering of dogs, that is, banning its consumption. The animal activists claim that the dogs are electrocuted, and hanged during the process.

However the Bill is said to be implemented by 2027 giving a grace period of three years to the dog farm owners and other workers to shift or close their business. The Bill also adds punishment in case of violating the law. Slaughtering dogs can attract fine up to 30 million (approx. 19 lakh) or imprisonment up to three years. Whereas selling or breeding dogs can lead to two years of prison or a fine of twenty million (approx. 13 lakh).

The Kabul security department spokesperson appointed by Taliban named Khalid Zadran said that the explosion was due to the grenade blast that occurred in Kabul’s PD 18. Further investigations are being carried out to find out the perpetrator.

Apart from this blast a separate explosion was reported in the northern Mazar-e-Sharif. Further information over the casualties is yet to be shared reported the Khaama Press.

The United Nations mission in Afghanistan indicated that the blast specifically targeted the ethnic Hazari community in the western Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul. The repeated instances of violence and explosions in the Taliban occupied country showcases the ongoing security barriers that the country’s citizens face.
Whereas the ISIS- Khurasan has claimed responsibility for the attack on the civilians in Kabul’s “Qala-e-Nazir Station,” which claimed the lives of two people and injured 14 others, according to media report.
Zadran said that the explosion took place at around 6pm (local time) on Saturday. He stated that the attack involved a minibus vehicle which led to the killing of 20 individuals, claimed the ISIS.
Previously, seven people were killed and about 20 people were injured in the bomb blast or can call attack on a city bus in the Dasht-e-Barchi area.
Since the time the Taliban has take control over Afghanistan, taking care of security is a key challenge that is face by the group. The nation continues to witness terror attacks that results in the loss if the lives of innocent civilians.

The temperature finally rose above zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) on Sunday afternoon at the Beijing’s Nanjiao weather station after many days, as reported by the Chinese local media, Beijing Daily.

“Since the temperature first dropped to below zero degrees on December 11, the temperature had remained below that line for more than 300 hours,” Beijing Daily wrote. CNN reported that most of the China was covered in a blanket of cold wave that pushed the heat capacity of some cities in northern China to its limit in the month of December.

After the intense cold wave, Henan, a province in central China experienced various system failures. In Jiaozuo City, heating was temporarily disrupted due to a malfunction at the Wanfang power plant on Friday. Fortunately, the issue was resolved on Saturday, and heating is set to resume on Sunday night, as reported by the official city newspaper, Jiaozuo Daily.

On the other hand, Puyang and Pingdingshan (cities in province) have reduced heating in the majority of government buildings and state-owned enterprises since Friday. This decision aims to prioritize the limited heating resources for hospitals, schools, and residential buildings, as stated by the governments of the two cities. The persistent cold weather in Beijing, which began days ago, has also led to problems with the city’s metro system, as reported by CNN.

The city’s transportation authority informed that due to heavy snowfall, two trains collided on a metro line resulting in injuring hundreds of commuters. Dozens of people with fractured bones were rushed to the hospital in Beijing earlier this month. Additionally, the freezing temperatures also hampered rescue efforts as a deadly earthquake occurred this month in northwest Gansu province of China.
