Saree-Clad Kanpur Woman Flaunts Gun on Highway, Triggers Outrage | WATCH

The fame of Instagram reels in India is on a high, attracting not only the youngsters but also a large number of middle-aged people. Some fans are even going beyond the boundaries just to gain likes and shares.

A recent shocking example is from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman was seen dancing with a gun on a highway. The video, apparently shot for an Instagram reel, went viral on social media.

The viral video on platform X features the woman wearing a green saree along with a skimpy blouse, performing on a Bhojpuri track. The act was performed on what is presumed to be the Kanpur-Delhi Highway. Perturbed users tagged the police and other authorities, calling for stringent action for exhibiting a weapon so openly.

The lady has been named Shalini, who operates the Instagram account “salinipanday60”. Her account has over 60,000 followers and over 2,550 posts.

After the circulation of the video, the police intervened to deal with the issue. In reply to the tagged post, they asserted, “It is to be informed in the said matter that the said woman is a resident of Kanpur Nagar, who made this video within the Kanpur Nagar district area. In this regard, the Kanpur Nagar Police have been informed.”

Such incidents are not unheard of in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, in 2024, YouTuber Simran Yadav too was in the news after a video surfaced where she was dancing with a pistol on the highway in Lucknow.

After Zeng’s untimely death, Wang found that he had left behind outstanding salaries, bills with suppliers, and loans to himself. Even without a contractual obligation and advises from friends to abandon ship, Wang decided to pay back the debt herself. “If I don’t repay the debt, how would those people feed their children and elders?” she asserted.

To make this promise, she took all her savings 200,000 yuan (around US$27,000) borrowed 60,000 yuan, and even moved to another province in search of a better job. “I want to complete his life story on a perfect note,” she said. “I did not want his name to be associated with dishonesty.”

In addition to settling his money matters, Wang assumed the emotional and physical caregiver position for Zeng’s family. With his parents bringing in merely 50,000 yuan each year (equivalent to about US$7,000), Wang provided for them anyway.

The caller explained that she had been named the sole heir to a property in the United Kingdom valued at over £400,000 (approximately Rs 4.22 crore). The inheritance was reportedly left by her maternal uncle, Raymond, who had passed away in September 2021.

Raymond, a former airline cabin crew member, had owned a two-bedroom flat in Twickenham, which had remained unclaimed due to his lack of close relatives. With no children or spouse, his estate was eventually traced to Lauren, who was confirmed as the closest living relative.

Skepticism and Confirmation

At first, Lauren doubted the legitimacy of the call. The fact that her mother had moved to Canada in 1951 and that Lauren herself had only lived in the UK for a short period during her studies made the inheritance claim sound too far-fetched. Her son, too, warned her that it might be a fraudulent attempt.

However, the agency behind the call provided detailed and verifiable information about the family history, tracing Lauren’s connection to Raymond through the family tree. They explained that Raymond was her maternal grandfather’s brother’s son, making her his legitimate niece. Importantly, the caller never asked for any money, which helped quell Lauren’s suspicions about a scam.

After receiving all the necessary clarifications and assurances, Lauren is now preparing to claim the inheritance. Excited by the unexpected windfall, she is even considering a vacation funded by part of the property’s value.

Shocking scam from China has been reported where a married woman hired a series of actors, including one impersonating her, to bilk a man out of a big sum. The incident began on Aug 2022 when a man from Hubei Province was contacted online by a female person known as Xiaoyu, who claimed that the information was found about his wedding planning advertisement.

Over the following month, Xiaoyu declared love for Xin and convinced him to start planning their wedding. She asked her family for a bride price of 188,000 yuan (approximately Rs 22.1 lakh) that followed local traditions.

During January 2023, Xin went to meet her family, bringing gifts of 10,000 yuan (over Rs 1.15 lakh), but Xiaoyu had claimed sickness and did not attend. Despite multiple demands for funds, which included money to pay for her mother’s surgery and gifts for her sister, Xiaoyu refrained from meeting in the flesh and kept Xin assuaged by sending images and speaking to him via phone. At the tail end of the year, Xin had sent over 220,000 yuan (over Rs 25.7 lakh) to her account. In April 2024, Xiaoyu decided to meet Xin in his city but this time with her entire family.

However, on seeing her in person, Xin realized that she did not look the same as in the pictures. Xiaoyu said that those images had been “beautified.” Xin was becoming skeptical but continued buying gifts for her family, which cost him another 40,000 yuan, which is over Rs 4.5 lakh in clothes. He became even more suspicious when he read messages on Xiaoyu’s phone where she complained to a friend that he “constantly asks to meet” and promises to “act according to the script. She then said that her account had been hacked when confronted by Xin. Within a week, her “sister,” Xiaomiao, met Xin and requested him to end the relationship with Xiaoyu because she was depressed. In order to uncover the truth, Xin traveled to the city of Xiaoyu and caught Xiaomiao answering a call meant for Xiaoyu. It was then that Xin realized Xiaomiao was, in fact, the woman he had believed to be Xiaoyu for two years.

According to the Chinese media outlet Jimu News, the scammer, surnamed Zhou, was an unemployed married woman with a child. She had used the money to support her family, hiring actors to portray her relatives and sending Xin pictures of models she had found online. Zhou was arrested in November after she had successfully scammed Xin of 480,000 yuan (approximately Rs 55.3 lakh).

The man, known as Kish Siff on the social media platform X, posted the exchange after the woman pressured him for an early engagement until she learned about his actual income.

Kish noted that the woman had seemed “nice all these days” until he pointed out a “typo error” in his matrimonial profile. In the screenshots, the woman was seen urging him for an early engagement. When he requested more time to get to know her—advising caution since it would be their second marriage—she responded, “Can’t wait or we find other match.”

After some negotiation, the man agreed to get engaged in mid-November. He then revealed that he had mistakenly added an extra zero to his salary, clarifying that he earned Rs. 3 lakhs per annum, not Rs. 30 lakhs.

A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man who promised her a job and lured her to his flat in Vasant Kunj, southwest Delhi. The man and his associate, a woman, have been arrested by the police.

The incident began on September 5 when the woman was contacted via social media by another woman offering job opportunities. She was given the contact details of a man who supposedly worked at an airline. After receiving her phone number, the man called her, inquiring about the type of job she wanted, whether as an air hostess, PA, or peon. He then invited her for an interview.

On September 9, the woman agreed to meet him, bringing her documents along. The man sent her the address via WhatsApp and picked her up from Delhi Aerocity metro station, taking her to Vasant Kunj. He brought her to a room on the second floor, ostensibly to assist with filling out a form. Inside the room, he took her documents forcibly and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Threatened with severe consequences if she reported the assault, the woman was dropped off near the metro station. She later confided in her family, leading to the registration of a case against the man.

DCP (southwest) Rohit Meena confirmed the arrest of both the man and the woman who had initially contacted the victim. The identity of the victim has been kept confidential according to Supreme Court directives on sexual assault cases.

A woman has complained that a man, after the auto-rickshaw he was riding in dangerously oversped past her car thus endangering a possible collision with two other vehicles, has issued her “open rape threats”. She claimed on social media that the man not only insulted her and her mother by calling them “Prostitutes but also indicated how he would want to engage in lewd comments. Detailing in detail how he would perform “oral pleasure” on them, the man believed to be in his early twenties also made obscene gestures.

She explained in a Reddit description of the incident, “Was driving along Kathriguppe road today. An auto zoomed in from the left to the extreme right and almost crashed into 2 cars causing a pileup. All I could do was honk and then pass by it. The driver in the auto kept quiet because he knew he was driving like a maniac.”. But there was this youngster in the car that came up to me when the light turned red.”

She said, “He cursed me, my mother and my whole family out. In beautiful, colourful language. He called both of us whores, went into explicit detail about all the positions that we would have sex with men in, and then demonstrated to me how he would give me oral pleasure with his tongue between two of his fingers. He was probably all of 21 or 22, and he got mad because 2 people honked at the auto that he was in.

The man then tried to break her car window and force her door open, issuing further threats of rape and death as several people watched. She added, “He tried breaking my window and prying open my door. With 30 others watching him.”. He seemed to have assumed that I didn’t know the language, so the insults got even more colourful until the signal turned green and he said he would kill me and my entire family after raping us, if ever the video I recorded of his misbehaviour ever comes out.”

Woman, Partner Kill Husband with Scissors in Greater Noida, Both Arrested

A married woman and her partner were arrested on Sunday for the brutal murder of her husband, committed with a pair of scissors a week ago in Greater Noida, police officials reported.

The suspects, Pooja and Prahlad Kushwaha, were apprehended near the ATS roundabout in Greater Noida. The murder weapon, a pair of scissors, was recovered from them, according to a police spokesperson.

“Pooja and Prahlad, both from the same village, had been involved in an extramarital relationship even before Pooja moved with her husband Mahesh to Bironda village for work,” the spokesperson said.

Mahesh, in search of employment, had relocated his family to Bironda in Greater Noida and found work as a sanitation worker. During this time, Pooja called Prahlad to Greater Noida under the pretext of helping him find a job. Prahlad secured a position as a security guard at NFL Society and began visiting Pooja frequently, the official said.

On the night of July 1, Prahlad visited Pooja at her home in Mahesh’s absence. However, Mahesh unexpectedly returned home and discovered his wife with Prahlad in a compromising situation, the official said. “A violent confrontation ensued, during which Pooja and Prahlad attacked Mahesh with a pair of scissors, ultimately killing him. They then attempted to hide the body by throwing it onto the roof of a toilet before fleeing the scene,” the police spokesperson said.

73-Year-Old Noida Woman Scammed Out Of Rs 1.3 Crore

A 73-year-old woman from Noida was defrauded of Rs 1.3 crore by cybercriminals who tricked her into believing that a parcel addressed to her had been seized in Mumbai, containing illegal items, and that her Aadhaar card was linked to six accounts involved in money laundering.

Shuchi Agrawal, residing in Sector 49, filed a police complaint stating that on June 13, she received a call from an unknown number. The caller, a woman, claimed to be from the Andheri branch of Fedex courier company. Over the next five days, until June 17, Agrawal underwent a “digital interrogation.”

“They said that one of my parcels has been seized, in which some illegal items such as LCD, iPad, expired passport, and 5kg clothes have been found. The caller further said that I will have to come to Mumbai for this (to clear my name) or they will connect me through Skype to Mumbai Police’s narcotics department. The interrogation through Skype call went for five days,” Agrawal detailed in her complaint.

She further explained, “They said that my Aadhaar card is linked with the six accounts which are involved in money laundering. They kept on threatening me and asked me to transfer the money in the name of a police clearance certificate (PCC). They asked me to transfer the money to a different bank account. I did a transfer of a total of Rs. 1.30 crore.”

Agrawal provided the police with details of the bank account to which she transferred the money.

An FIR has been registered under sections 419 (cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, along with section 66D of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008, at the Noida cybercrime police station. The investigation is currently underway.

Bengaluru police arrest Woman for stealing laptops

Bengaluru police apprehended a 29-year-old woman from Rajasthan on charges of stealing laptops from numerous paying guest facilities throughout the city since 2022.

According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, “The woman identified as Jassu Agarwal was arrested with 24 laptops worth Rs 10 lakh.”

Sharing details about the thefts, the Police Commissioner said, “A laptop, charger and mouse were stolen from a rented house under the HAL police station and a case was registered at the HAL police station in October last year.”

The official added that a thorough investigation into the case was conducted, leading to the arrest of the accused woman, who was subsequently questioned extensively.

Following this, the woman, identified as Jassu Agarwal, was apprehended with 24 laptops valued at Rs 10 lakh. The stolen items included three laptop cases from HAL stations in Koramangala and Indiranagar.

According to reports, the woman from Rajasthan carried out the thefts in paying guest (PG) accommodations located near software company hubs and PG areas across the city, including Tin Factory, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Silkboard, Hebbal, Whitefield, Mahadevapura, and others.

During the investigation, it emerged that the stolen laptops were being sold by the accused to laptop stores in Marathahalli, Yelahanka, and Hebbal, as stated by the official. The Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Whitefield Division, Sivakumar, with the support of the HAL Police Inspector and other team members, successfully solved the case against the accused.

The 24-year-old woman shared her ordeal on Reddit and also informed that she sought help from police, however, they did “nothing” to stop the neighbour.

The woman shared that the neighbour lived on the ground floor and stopped her house help from entering the building. “My (f 24) house help called me in distress that some old man was blocking her way to my apartment. So I went to check on her and saw that my neighbour who lives in the ground floor was blocking her way and yelling at her. I asked her what happened and before she could reply, this man started verbally abusing me,” she wrote.

She tried to speak to the neighbour but he allegedly kept using “derogatory” terms in Kannada. “I tried to talk to him but he kept yelling at me to speak Kannada and started saying stuff in Kannada (he does speak the languages I know and English as well, he has talked to me in English fluently before). I’m not extremely fluent in Kannada but I could understand that he was calling us derogatory terms,” the woman shared.

Failing to defuse the situation, the woman resorted to calling the police. “I had enough and called the police. When they arrived he was still verbally abusing me in front of them and they did nothing to stop him! They left asking me to file a complaint next day. I don’t have much hope as to if they will take this seriously because he’s old and intoxicated (police’s words),” she alleged.

The National Investigation Agency’s special court sentenced a woman to six years in prison in connection with a fake currency case in Bengaluru involving the smuggling of large quantities of high quality Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from Bangladesh into India via Karnataka, the agency announced on Saturday.

On Friday, the NIA Special Court in Bengaluru convicted the woman accused, Vanitha alias Thangam.

According to the NIA, she was sentenced to six years in prison under Section 489B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), five years in prison under Section 489C of the IPCjus, and two years in prison under Section 120B of the IPC, along with a total fine of Rs 20,000.

“The sentences will run concurrently,” the NIA added.

“Her body was found inside the house of a man named Vishnu who was working at a panchayat office in the same building where the victim also worked,” said Sujith Das, Superintendent of Police, Malappuram.

The accused and the victim were known to each other. “The motive behind the murder is not clear,” the Malappuram SP said.

“During our probe, we checked the call details of the suspect. The accused Vishnu was put under scanner after it was revealed that the accused had recently mortgaged some jewelry, the police official said.

The accused was arrested and, after extensive questioning, confessed to the crime, acknowledging the involvement of his two brothers and one of their acquaintances. “His father knew about the crime. After murdering her, they stole her jewelry. It was all done on the morning of August 11,” Malappuram SP said.

“They dumped the body in a waste disposal pit in the compound of the house of accused Vishnu at night. To erase the evidence and to prevent a foul smell from emanating, they topped the pit with metals and bricks,” the police official said.
