</excerpt>

Donald Trump, the first former U.S. President to receive a felony conviction, is now encountering further obstacles regarding travel restrictions, with reports indicating a notable reduction in the list of countries he can visit.

A Manhattan jury recently convicted Trump on all counts in his hush money trial. He faced 34 first-degree misdemeanor charges related to altering company documents concerning a $130,000 payment intended to silence adult film actress Stormy Daniels regarding an alleged sexual encounter.

Trump is confronting three additional criminal charges, though it remains uncertain if these matters will be resolved before the November election.

Scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday, July 11, the former president’s fate may determine his ability to travel internationally as a convicted felon.

Could Trump face restrictions to enter other countries?

Nearly 37 countries, such as Canada, China, Israel, and the United Kingdom, have regulations preventing felons from entering their borders, though not all consistently check passengers’ criminal backgrounds.

Trump has suggested he will appeal the verdict, a process only possible after sentencing. Even if he appeals, the jury’s decision will stand, cementing Trump’s status as a convicted felon.

The outcome will carry significant weight if Trump seeks re-election, potentially complicating his international travel plans.

Under US law, convicted felons generally face no travel restrictions unless specifically ordered by a court.

According to criminal defense attorney Keith B. Johnson, it’s improbable that Trump’s travel will be “restricted to the US by way of the sentence in New York state court.”

“It is a financial crime and what we would consider to be a white collar crime, not a crime of violence,” he continued.

Johnson suggests that due to Trump’s high profile, other nations may consider making an exception for the GOP leader if he is re-elected.

He emphasizes that despite any potential exceptions, Trump’s status as a convicted felon would still be pertinent to him as an individual. Additionally, Johnson underscores that any future visits by Trump to China would occur in his capacity as US President, rather than as a private citizen.

Territories that prohibit visits by felons:

– Argentina

– Australia

– Brazil

– Cambodia

– Canada

– Chile

– China

– Cuba

– Dominican Republic

– Egypt

– Ethiopia

– India

– Indonesia

– Iran

– Ireland

– Israel

– Japan

– Kenya

– Malaysia

– Macau

– Mexico

– Morocco

</excerpt>

Donald Trump was convicted on all 34 charges in New York, including falsifying business records related to a hush-money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump, who has denied wrongdoing, plans to appeal the verdict, stating, “This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. This was a rigged trial, a disgrace.”

The process by which the jury reached a verdict of guilt for Trump involved their unanimous decision after deliberating for two days.

Unanimous decision: A panel of 12 New Yorkers unanimously found Trump guilty after two days of deliberation.

Charges explained: Trump falsified business records to conceal a hush-money payment to Daniels just before the 2016 election, part of an illegal scheme to deceive voters.

Felony elevation: The fraudulent accounting was elevated to a felony due to its connection to violating state election laws. Prosecutors argued it aimed to influence the 2016 election outcome by hiding damaging information.

The significance lies in:

Trump’s conviction marks him as the first criminal former president and felon to be a major political party nominee.

Democrats may use the conviction in attack ads for the upcoming election, raising questions about Trump’s candidacy and potential presidency.

Trump plans to appeal, alleging political bias and flaws in the trial.

Will it affect the presidential elections?

Biden’s campaign sees the verdict as proof that no one is above the law but acknowledges elections determine Trump’s fate.

Despite the conviction, Trump’s poll numbers remain steady, suggesting minimal impact on his core supporters.

The conviction’s effect may hinge on Biden’s campaign efforts to highlight it to voters.

Here’s what they’re saying:

Nicholas Higgins, political scientist, doubts the conviction will sway voters already entrenched in their views.

Donald Nieman, political analyst, believes the conviction could hurt Trump in a close election.

Jared Carter, professor, suggests the conviction may energize Trump’s base but alienate independents, pivotal in swing states.

What comes after this:

The conviction will likely dominate headlines but its impact on the election remains uncertain.

Both campaigns and voters will react to this unprecedented development in the coming months, potentially shaping the 2024 election.

Biden’s campaign may play a crucial role in highlighting the conviction’s significance to voters.

</excerpt>

Following a New York jury’s verdict, former President Donald Trump has been convicted on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records, raising significant questions about his future political endeavors and voting rights, CNN reported.

As the verdict reverberates across political circles, a crucial question emerges: Can a convicted felon run for president? The answer is unequivocally yes.

The US Constitution specifies three requirements for presidential candidates: natural-born citizenship, a minimum age of 35, and at least 14 years of US residency—all of which Trump fulfills. While the 14th Amendment restricts individuals involved in insurrection, enforcing this would require Congress to invoke a special law, which is improbable in the current political landscape, according to CNN.

Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled Trump’s sentencing for July 11, strategically close to the Republican National Convention’s start in Milwaukee just four days later. There is speculation about a possible prison sentence for Trump, though CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig suggests that most Class E felony convictions in New York do not typically result in incarceration.

Notably, as a former president, Trump is entitled to lifetime Secret Service protection, ensuring his security regardless of his legal situation.

Running a presidential campaign from a prison cell is not without precedent. In 1920, socialist leader Eugene Debs ran for president from a federal prison in Atlanta while serving a 10-year sentence for sedition.

While Trump remains eligible to run for president, questions about his voting rights post-conviction persist. State regulations govern felons’ voting privileges, with Vermont and Maine allowing voting from prison.

Trump‘s residency in Florida adds complexity, as the state’s 2018 referendum to re-enfranchise convicted felons includes stipulations requiring the payment of fines and fees related to their sentences.

Neil Volz, deputy director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, anticipates few obstacles to restoring Trump’s voting rights, given Florida’s deference to the jurisdiction of felony convictions. However, ongoing efforts to streamline eligibility confirmation for formerly incarcerated individuals are still hindered by confusion over fee requirements, preventing many from voting, CNN reported.

Trump expressed frustration with the state of the country, citing issues with borders and elections, and criticized the judge’s perceived conflict of interest. Despite the ongoing trial, Trump remained confident in his prediction of victory in the 2024 presidential election.

“We’re going to win this election. Nov. 5 is going to be the most important day in the history of our country. We’re going to take back our country from these fascists and these thugs that are destroying us with inflation and with everything they do,” he stated.

While Trump’s defense team maintained his innocence, lead attorney Todd Blanche insisted, “President Trump is innocent. He did not commit any crimes. The district attorney did not meet the burden of proof. Period.”

Despite his testimony at the trial, Trump suggested that his statements during the proceedings hindered his ability to campaign, though he continued fundraising activities. He expressed skepticism about the fairness of the trial, stating, “Something is going on, because I think the people of this country see that this is a rigged deal.”

</excerpt>

CNN reported that the jury in Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial wrapped up their initial day of deliberations, facing the weighty responsibility of determining the former president’s destiny. Following over four-and-a-half hours of deliberation, the panel of 12 New Yorkers adjourned without reaching a verdict, fueling anticipation and speculation in the courtroom. As the trial entered a crucial phase, legal maneuvering both inside and outside the courtroom added layers of complexity to the proceedings.

Wednesday marked the start of deliberations, as the jury convened behind closed doors to examine evidence and consider the 34 felony charges against Trump. Throughout the day, the jurors communicated two significant messages to the presiding judge, highlighting their meticulous approach. The first note requested a review of the judge’s instructions to the jury, underscoring their dedication to comprehending the legal framework. The second note sought a recap of key testimonies from witnesses Michael Cohen and David Pecker, underscoring the importance of witness accounts in shaping the trial’s narrative.

Meanwhile, amidst jury deliberations, Trump’s legal team initiated legal maneuvers, seeking an expedited briefing schedule for his gag order appeal at the Court of Appeals. The appeal aimed to contest what Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, labeled an unconstitutional suppression of the former president’s campaign speech. With the court yet to decide on hearing the appeal, the legal dispute over the gag order highlighted the contentious nature of the trial and its potential impact on Trump’s political future.

Critical to the jury’s deliberations were requests to revisit pivotal testimonies from key witnesses, including Michael Cohen and David Pecker. Specifically, the jury sought insights into Pecker’s phone conversation with Trump in June 2016, his involvement in finalizing Trump’s payment to AMI for Karen McDougal’s life rights, and details surrounding the August 2015 Trump Tower meeting. Cohen’s testimony regarding the Trump Tower meeting also played a significant role, providing crucial context for the alleged hush money scheme orchestrated by Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Prior to commencing deliberations, Judge Juan Merchan spent an hour instructing the jury on the law, outlining the 34 felony counts against Trump for falsifying business records related to the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. Emphasizing the importance of impartiality, Merchan reminded jurors to set aside biases and fulfill their duty as fair arbiters of justice. As the jury grappled with the intricacies of the case, Merchan’s instructions provided a guiding framework for their deliberations.

Ramaswamy, who now became a supporter of Trump after his withdrawal for 2024 presidential race, was one of the few republicans, who had come to Manhattan to talk former US president’s trial.

While Speaking Ramaswamy said “God bless our country. I pray for our future, and let’s pray for our country being stronger on the other side of this disgusting sham politician.”

Later, he corrected himself and said “Prosecution.”

Watch Here: –

Vivek Ramaswamy: This is a sham politician— I mean prosecution.

Earlier, taking to twitter (Now X), the biotech entrepreneur condemned the alleged Biden administration’s sham trial. Calling it a “politically motivated assault on the leading candidate for US President, green-lit by his political opponent, Joe Biden, and carried out at the highest levels of the White House and Department of Justice.”

Calling it an “an insult to American democracy” and saying, “no one has a clue what the alleged crime even is.”

He further accused the presiding judge Merchan of being allegedly paid millions of dollars by democratic operatives.

“The irony here is that the crime is supposedly about bad bookkeeping, but the real bookkeeping scandal is how to account for Judge Merchan’s own family members being paid millions of dollars by Democratic operatives.”

</excerpt>

Stormy Daniels, a porn star, testified against former US President Donald Trump in a Manhattan courtroom. According to her lawyer, Clark Brewster, “she wore a bulletproof vest every day.”

According to Brewster, who gave an exclusive interview to CNN, “She was paralysed with fear—not of expressing her tale or taking a position, but of what might some nuts do to her? And I really am worried about it too.

“She was concerned about the security coming into New York. She’s very concerned about that and because she lives in an area that might not have the level of security that she’d feel comfortable with,” he said.

“I can tell you that before she came on Sunday. I mean, she cried herself to sleep.”

Brewster also informed CNN that Daniels wore her daughter’s necklace to court for emotional support.

He remarked, “It was really cute that she did that,” revealing that her daughter, Caden Crain, crafted the necklace.

Daniels’ apprehension was not unwarranted, as she had previously expressed similar concerns in a documentary earlier this year. In the film, she disclosed that her decision to accept hush money was motivated by fear for her personal safety.

This sentiment was echoed by Brewster and surfaced following Daniels’ testimony, which detailed explicit allegations of a purported sexual encounter with Trump in 2006—an accusation Trump vehemently denies.

Brewster suggested that Daniels’s moment to “shine” arrived when she faced cross-examination by the former president’s legal team because she is a “quick thinker” and was “very responsive” during her testimony.

Trump’s attorney claimed the alleged affair ‘never happened’

The legal showdown escalated as Trump’s attorney, Susan Necheles, cross-examined Daniels in an attempt to undermine her credibility. Necheles focused on Daniels’ financial gains from publicizing the alleged affair, portraying her as an unreliable witness and asserting that the alleged affair was fabricated because “it never happened.”

At the core of the case are 34 felony charges against the former president, alleging falsification of business records related to a $130,000 payment to Daniels. This payment, orchestrated by Trump’s former “fixer” Michael Cohen, was purportedly made to ensure Daniels’ silence about the alleged affair during the crucial period of the 2016 presidential election.

</excerpt>

The jury heard testimony about claims made by the prosecution of a conspiracy to stifle unfavourable news, including claims made by a porn star that she had a sexual encounter with Donald Trump. On Thursday, the former National Enquirer publisher will resume his testimony.

The criminal trial of Donald J. Trump began on Tuesday with a heated discussion about a gag order between Justice Juan M. Merchan and Mr. Trump’s main counsel. In conclusion, it provided an overview of a tabloid newspaper practice known as “catch and kill.”

Prosecutors alleged that Mr. Trump had “willfully and blatantly” disregarded a gag order preventing him from attacking jurors and witnesses, among others, through comments made outside the courtroom and online, potentially warranting contempt of court.

Mr. Trump‘s lead lawyer argued that Mr. Trump was merely defending himself from political attacks. Although Justice Merchan refrained from ruling, he admonished the attorney, Todd Blanche, stating, “you’re losing all credibility with the court.”

David Pecker, a former ally of Mr. Trump and ex-publisher of The National Enquirer, subsequently testified about purchasing and burying unfavorable stories about Mr. Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, describing it as “highly, highly confidential.”

Mr. Trump, aged 77, faces 34 felony charges for falsifying business records to conceal a payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to suppress a sex scandal. Ms. Daniels, potentially a witness, alleges a brief sexual encounter with Mr. Trump in 2006, a claim he denies.

Here are five key points from Mr. Trump’s sixth day on trial:

Pecker details “catch-and-kill”

During his second day on the stand, Mr. Pecker detailed a longstanding friendship with Mr. Trump, deepened in 2015, including joint efforts with Michael D. Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former lawyer, to promote positive stories about Mr. Trump and negative stories about his rivals.

Mr. Pecker recounted a “catch-and-kill” arrangement, where The National Enquirer paid $30,000 to suppress a false story about Mr. Trump fathering a child out of wedlock, citing potential embarrassment to Mr. Trump.

Mr. Pecker’s testimony provided insights into an earlier New York era, characterized by landlines, influential tabloids, and popular television shows like “The Apprentice,” enhancing Mr. Trump’s national profile.

Trump’s legal constraints may tighten

Prosecutors argued that Mr. Trump repeatedly violated the gag order, including an alleged nine-minute tirade against Michael Cohen outside the courtroom.

While Mr. Blanche defended Mr. Trump’s responses to political attacks, Justice Merchan cautioned against further breaches. Prosecutors expressed a preference for fines rather than incarceration if Mr. Trump were found in contempt.

Trump’s frustration evident

Mr. Trump remained composed during prosecutors’ arguments but became animated during exchanges between Mr. Blanche and Justice Merchan. He vocally expressed his displeasure after the hearing, accusing Justice Merchan of stifling his freedom of speech.

Pivotal day ahead for Trump

While court is adjourned on Wednesday, Mr. Pecker’s direct examination will resume on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mr. Trump faces a significant day in both New York and Washington, with his attorneys arguing in front of the Supreme Court for presidential immunity in a federal election interference case, a request denied by Justice Merchan.

</excerpt>

On Friday, someone was enveloped in flames outside the New York courtroom hosting the criminal hush money trial of former President Donald Trump. The man, named Max Azzarello, is still alive but in severe condition after flying from Florida to New York.

“(They were) almost like a conspiracy theory type of pamphlet, some information in regards to Ponzi schemes, and the fact that some of our local educational institutes are a front for the mob,” senior police officer Joseph Kenny stated.

The pamphlets include a link to a newsletter called “The Ponzi Papers,” in which Mr. Azzarello presented several claims relating to an “apocalyptic fascist world coup” that included Hollywood actor Rob Lowe, former US president Bill Clinton, sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, and crypto billionaires.

The 2,600-word diatribe, titled “I have set myself on fire outside the Trump Trial,” detailed the self-described investigative researcher’s numerous claims.

“My name is Max Azzarello, and I am an investigative researcher who has set himself on fire outside of the Trump trial in Manhattan. This extreme act of protest is to draw attention to an urgent and important discovery: We are victims of a totalitarian con, and our own government (along with many of their allies) is about to hit us with an apocalyptic fascist world coup,” it says.

Photos of printed pamphlets with titles like “The True History of the World (Haunted Carnival Edition),” “NYU is a Mob Front,” and “D——-t Secrets of our Rotten World” are also included in the manifesto.

Days before he self-immolation himself, Mr. Azzarello was seen outside the same courthouse holding a banner that said, “Trump is with Biden and they’re about to fascist coup us.” Following the act’s announcement, several videos of Mr. Azzarello singing, reading aloud from his manifesto, and urging viewers to spark a revolution went viral.

On social media, a picture of a grinning, younger Azzarello with Bill Clinton has also surfaced. In a conspiracy-theory-heavy lawsuit that was dismissed by the court last year, Mr. Azzarello sued 100 powerful persons, including Mr. Clinton.

According to police, they are looking into the event and have “labeled him a sort of conspiracy theorist”. “His condition is not good, but as of now he is still alive,” they continued.
