Tejaswi Yadav Criticizes NDA for Neglecting Bihar, Highlights Achievements Under Lalu Prasad Yadav

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav has strongly criticized the NDA government, accusing it of neglecting Bihar’s development needs. His remarks came in response to a tweet by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, which highlighted the achievements of the Bihar rail factory during his tenure as Railway Minister.

Tejaswi emphasized the significant progress Bihar made when his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, served as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. “The data given by Lalu ji is true,” Tejaswi said, pointing out that during that period, Bihar received several factories, including the rail factory, which has manufactured over 2 lakh wheels. “It is delightful to see this progress,” he added.

He also recalled that during the UPA-1 government, Bihar had 22 MPs and received a substantial package of Rs 1.5 lakh crore, thanks to the efforts of Lalu Prasad Yadav and then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In contrast, Tejaswi criticized the NDA, noting that despite having 39 MPs from Bihar in 2019 and 30 MPs currently, the state has been “cheated” and has not received the promised development. “They have only deceived Bihar,” he said, underscoring the need for progressive politics to ensure the state’s advancement.

Former Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s spiritual activity in Kanniyakumari, dismissing it as mere “photo shoots.” Yadav stated, “Modi ji isn’t doing any meditation, only photo shoots are happening. Once the photo shoot ends, they will come back.”

Prime Minister Modi is currently in Kanniyakumari, engaged in meditation at the Dhyan Mandapam, the site where Swami Vivekananda is believed to have had a divine vision about ‘Bharat Mata.’ His meditation is expected to conclude today.

Yadav also made a political appeal, urging people to vote against those undermining constitutional principles, reservations, and democracy. He said, “I will tell people to step out of their homes, and those who want to abolish the constitution, reservations, and democracy, those whose actions have increased unemployment, inflation, and poverty, I appeal to my people to vote against them.”

Expressing confidence in Bihar’s electoral prospects, Yadav said, “We have said it before that Bihar will deliver a surprising result, and we will surpass 300 seats.” He also announced his upcoming trip to Delhi for a pre-scheduled meeting at 3 p.m. today.

Under the INDIA alliance agreement in Bihar, the RJD is contesting 26 seats, Congress nine, and the Left parties five out of the state’s 40 Lok Sabha constituencies. In the NDA, the BJP will contest 17 seats, Janata Dal-United (JDU) 16, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (Ram Vilas) five, and Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha one seat each in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Bihar’s elections are contested in all seven phases, with its 40 Lok Sabha constituencies playing a crucial role in Indian politics. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA, including the BJP, JDU, and LJP, won 39 out of 40 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, INC, and RLSP, secured only one seat.

Meanwhile, voting is taking place in the last 57 parliamentary constituencies across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The seventh phase concludes the world’s largest polling marathon, which began on the 19th of last month, covering six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats.

According to the Election Commission of India, over 10.06 crore electors, including approximately 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female, and 3574 third gender electors, are expected to vote. The states involved include Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Polling for the remaining 42 Assembly constituencies of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly is also taking place simultaneously.

A total of 904 candidates are competing in this final phase of polling. Prominent candidates include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad, Nishikant Dubey, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Charanjit Singh Channi, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and RJD leader Misa Bharti.

Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Bihar School Infrastructure After Students Fainted In Sheikhpura

After several students fainted in schools at different places in Bihar, former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav said on Wednesday that the infrastructure of schools in Bihar is not food and there is nothing in the hands of the CM.

“There is no government and democracy in Bihar, but only the bureaucracy. The CM is so weak that no one listens to him even regarding the timings of school. The temperature is at 47 degrees, the loo is blowing and at least the little children should have some relaxation. The infrastructure of schools in Bihar is not good. But, there is nothing in the CM’s hands,” Tejashwi said.

More than 50 students fainted in Bihar’s Sheikhpura on Wednesday. They were admitted to the hospital and their treatment is underway.

Suresh Prasad, Head Master, Middle School, Mankaul said, “The 6-7 students fainted when the assembly prayers were going on, due to extreme heat. We tried to provide first aid. Students are facing a lot of difficulties.”

Dr Rajnikanth Kumar, Sadar Hospital in Sheikhpura said, “Due to rising temperature, the students are facing difficulties. The students admitted here are stable now.”
Dr Satyendra said that students should be hydrated always. They should drink as much water as possible. It is recommended to not come out in the heat. Water bottles should be carried by all the students.

Similar incidents of children collapsing due to the heatwave have been reported in other schools and districts. In Begusarai district, six students at Matihani Middle School also fainted due to the extreme heat, prompting their transfer to Matihani PHC hospital for treatment.

This incident occurred at Matihani Middle School in the Matihani police station area of Begusarai district, Bihar. The district’s temperature has soared to 45 degrees Celsius, exacerbating the heatwave conditions.

The administration and teachers of Matihani Middle School criticized the Bihar government for maintaining school operations during such intense heat. They specifically pointed fingers at KK Pathak, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, for the decision to commence school activities at 6 am despite the prevailing heatwave.

Teachers expressed their frustration, stating, “This order has caused distress for both students and teachers. The government’s ‘Tughlaqi farmaan’ to keep schools open in such weather is unacceptable, and KK Pathak has ignored the issue.”

Kashyap, a popular YouTuber with a significant presence in Bihar politics, shared these videos through his official YouTube channel, drawing ire from both the Tamil Nadu government and the Bihar government led by Nitish Kumar’s JDU and Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD.

The circulation of these videos led to controversy as they were later deemed fake and misleading by authorities. The Tamil Nadu government, along with the then Director General of Police (DGP) Shailendra Babu, denounced the videos as false, sparking legal repercussions for Kashyap. The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police filed a report against him, leading to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment for around nine months.

Multiple FIRs were registered against Kashyap in Tamil Nadu, prompting him to go underground to evade arrest. However, after the police began confiscating his property, he surrendered to authorities. Bihar Dy CM Tejashwi Yadav assures to join CBI probe

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday assured the Delhi High Court that he will join the CBI investigation on 25 March for questioning in connection with the land-for-jobs scam case.

Yadav’s lawyer assured the court after noting the submissions of CBI that “at this point of time, there is no endeavour to arrest him” During arguments on Thursday before Delhi High Court, senior advocate Maninder Singh appeared for Tejashwi Yadav submitted that CBI has been calling him while the budget session is underway.

“I can appear through Video Conferencing. I am constantly telling them that I am a resident of Bihar. I have got three summons by the agency in just a few days,” Singh said representing Yadav.

CBI advocate DP Singh said, “The budget session is not on Saturday. He (Tejashwi Yadav) was in Delhi during the first summon but he refused to join the investigation. We need his appearance before us as there are documents to be shown,” add a CBI lawyer.

Tejashwi had submitted that notice under section 160 of the CrPC can only be issued to a person, who is situated within the local jurisdiction of that police station or is within the adjoining police station. Therefore, the Impugned Notices have been issued in gross violation of the provisions of the CrPC more particularly the provision stipulated in Section 160 of the CrPC.
However, the petitioner has received the above-mentioned Impugned Notices from the Respondent, requiring him to appear in New Delhi. The same is, however, in disregard of the law, the Yadav’s lawyer said.

The Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday granted regular bail to ex-Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, ex-Bihar CM Rabri Devi, their daughter Misa Bharti and other accused in Land for Job alleged scam case. CBI asks to cancel Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav’s bail in the IRCTC case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) charged Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam in a Delhi court on Saturday. The CBI requested that the bail granted to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader in the case be revoked.

According to reports, Yadav was served with a notice on the CBI’s plea by special judge Geetanjali Goel, and his response was requested.

In 2018, Yadav and his mother, Rabri Devi, were granted bail in the case.

The scam is related to the IRCTC hotel maintenance contract case, in which the CBI charged 12 people and two businesses. There were alleged irregularities in the awarding of contracts for two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri, Odisha, to a private firm in 2006, involving a bribe in the form of a three-acre commercial plot in the Bihar capital Patna.

In addition, the Enforcement Directorate filed a charge sheet in the case, accusing them of money laundering.

On Thursday, Kailash Vijayvargiya, the national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), made controversial comments about Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and compared him to “foreign women”.

“When I was travelling abroad, someone there said that women there change their boyfriends at any time. The Bihar Chief Minister is also like that. He never knows whose hand he may hold or leave,” said Vijayvargiya.

Earlier this month, Nitish Kumar split from the BJP to form a coalition government with the RJD and other parties. On August 10, the Chief Minister and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD took the oath of office.

Tejashwi Yadav, the new deputy chief minister of Bihar, said the nation must follow the example set by his state. After Nitish Kumar severed ties with the BJP, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader took the oath for the top two positions in the state alongside him. Nitish Kumar to sworn in as Bihar CM for 8th time, Tejaswi to be deputy CM

Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janta Dal (United), recently declared a new “Grand Alliance” that includes Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and other opposition parties. He is expected to take the oath of office as Bihar’s chief minister once more on Wednesday afternoon.

Tejashwi Yadav is also likely to swear to serve as deputy chief minister.

After meeting with the governor of Bihar, Nitish Kumar and Tejaswi Yadav of the RJD held a joint press conference. They represented seven parties, 164 MLAs, and an independent MLA.

On a day of dramatically shifting political dynamics in Bihar, Kumar broke his alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) National Democratic Alliance and joined forces with the RJD.

The oath-taking ceremony will take place at Raj Bhavan at 2 pm, according to a tweet from Kumar’s new alliance partner, RJD.

The party said in a tweet from its official handle that the swearing-in ceremony of the Honorable Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will be held tomorrow at 2 pm at Raj Bhavan.

In a day of quick political developments, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, met with governor Phagu Chauhan twice: once to submit his resignation as the NDA’s chief minister, and again after being chosen to head the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance), to stake a new claim for the position.

A list of 164 MLAs was submitted to the governor. The state Assembly’s magic number is 122, while its effective strength is 242.

Tejashwi Yadav criticised the BJP and asserted that the party lacks an ally in the Hindi heartland.

He charged that the BJP works to undermine the parties it forms alliances with.

“Across the Hindi heartland, the BJP does not have any alliance partners. History shows that the BJP destroys the parties with whom it forms alliances. We did see that happening in Punjab and Maharashtra, “he said.

He also mentioned the BJP president, JP Nadda.

He said, “JP Nadda said they will end regional parties. BJP knows only to intimidate and buy people. All of us wanted the BJP’s shouldn’t be implemented in Bihar, we all know Laluji stopped the ‘Rath’ of Advaniji, and we won’t relent at any cost.”

After Shiv Sena and Shiromani Akali Dal, JD-U is the third significant ally to depart the BJP in the last three years.

Amid the political crisis in Bihar, RJD meets at Rabri’s residence

MLAs and leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal visited Rabri Devi, the wife of the party’s leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav, at her Patna residence on Tuesday amid rumours of an ongoing dispute between the Janata Dal United (JD-U) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar.

According to Ajit Sharma, the head of the Congress in the Bihar assembly, the state’s major opposition alliance was represented at the RJD conference called by Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the party’s leader and the son of Lalu Yadav.

Before the meeting, the RJD leaders who would be attending were asked to turn in their cell phones.

After Kumar skipped a crucial meeting of the NITI Aayog, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday and JD(U) leader RCP Singh submitted his resignation from the party, rumours of a developing split between the BJP and JDU, i.e., the NDA alliance in Bihar, increased. Singh, who was once regarded as a close aide to Nitish Kumar, announced his departure from the party after receiving a notification requesting an explanation over corruption charges.

Bihar Congress chief Madan Mohan Jha said “There seems to be a situation of instability and in such a situation, definitely something will come out. The Central government has been using the central agencies. The situation has never been right for the past one year.”
