Jacqueline Ma, who received the prestigious award in San Diego County in 2022, engaged in sexual relationships with the children when they were just 11 and 12 years old, according to reports. She is now expected to serve 30 years in prison.

The case came to light in 2023 when the parents of a then-13-year-old boy suspected an inappropriate relationship with Ma, CBS 8 reported. Following the complaint, Ma was initially arrested but released on bail. However, she was rearrested the very next day on additional felony charges, including sexual misconduct and child pornography.

A 33-year-old teacher in the UK has been jailed for sending explicit videos and photos of herself to a 15-year-old boy. Reportedly, she groomed the teen by telling him she wanted to have a physical connection with him as she sent him obscene photos.

According to Wales Online, when Natalie Arroyo, a progress coach and supply teacher, first made contact with the victim, he was “vulnerable.”

What did she send?

The outlet said that she sent him pictures of her genitalia and asked him to show her his private parts along with pictures and videos of herself in underwear. The teacher also posted films of her doing sexual acts, especially when the teenager refused to have intercourse with her.

The victim told that Arroyo told him, “I bet all the boys fancy me. I don’t blame them” I’ve got huge breasts, so I don’t blame them – I have really big boobs.” She further remarked explicit staements like, “I don’t have a gag reflex” and “I touched myself while thinking about you”. She also convinced the victim of meeting her when her husband was not at home. And that is when he exposed the continuing abuse to another adult.

The source indicates that the individual informed the police about Natalie Arroyo’s discussions with the youth. At first, she denied the claims when police interrogated her.

Later on, however, she confessed to the allegations. “Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual communication with a child” was another conviction she pleaded guilty to.

Court statement by the victim: “I have suffered with anxiety and suffered a breakdown. I stopped wanting to go out with friends and felt upset about the situation as I’ve become known as the boy this has happened to. Children have come up to me and asked about it and they think it’s funny and something to laugh about. I felt I was at fault at first and had no-one to talk about it with. I trusted her… I feel betrayed and taken advantage of. I didn’t know how to stop it.”

Teaching at Babu Pur Middle School in Bhagalpur district during the day and working as a food delivery rider at night, Amit earns a modest monthly salary of Rs 8,000, insufficient to sustain his family.

Challenges Of Working Two Jobs

After his teaching duties, Amit spends his evenings from 5 PM to midnight delivering food for a private company. His story highlights the financial hardships faced by government employees with low salaries, forcing them to seek additional work.

Speaking about his circumstances, Amit shared with ANI, “After a long wait, I finally got a government job in 2022. My family was overjoyed. I had taken the exam in 2019, and the results came in February 2020. I scored 74 out of 100, and we were thrilled. My family thought our situation would improve. Earlier, I worked at a private school, but when COVID hit, I lost that job. After two and a half years, I got this government position, but the salary was fixed at just Rs 8,000, and I was labelled a part-time employee, meaning I wasn’t required to stay long hours at school. Initially, we worked full-time and encouraged students to participate in sports.”

He added, “The students showed interest and even won medals. But even after two and a half years, the government hasn’t increased our salary or conducted eligibility exams. Life has become difficult. Senior teachers here receive Rs 42,000 as salary, while we get only Rs 8,000.”

Amit’s challenges are compounded by delayed payments. Earlier this year, he went four months without receiving his salary, forcing him to borrow money. “After February, I didn’t receive my salary for four months. I had to borrow money from friends, and the debt kept piling up. On my wife’s suggestion, I searched online and found I could work as a food delivery rider. There was no time restriction, so I created an ID and started working. After school, from 5 PM to 1 AM, I deliver food.”

Impact On Personal Life

The financial strain has deeply impacted Amit’s personal life. “With Rs 8,000 as my salary, I can’t even think about expanding my family. I wonder how I can provide for the next generation when I’m struggling to feed myself. I got married two and a half years ago when I got the job. I’m the eldest son and need to stay at home to care for my elderly mother, which is why I am compelled to take up this additional work,” he explained.

Despite his tireless efforts, Amit continues to hope for better opportunities and a salary increase to improve his family’s circumstances.

The Malavalli police informed on Thursday that a 51-year-old tuition teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping and murdering a 10-year-old minor girl in the Mandya district of Karnataka.The accused has been identified as Kantaraju and he has been working at the tuition centre for 15 years where the victim used to study.The police said, “While the victim was returning from her tuition, the accused gave her chocolate. He took the victim to a deserted area and then raped her, and killed her. After killing her, he threw the dead body into the sump of the under-construction building next to Mysuru Road in Malavalli.”A special team from Malavalli Police Station started the investigation into the case after the girl’s parents registered a complaint of their daughter being missing.The police also got the information that the girl’s body was lying in the sump of the construction site. After that, a police team headed by Additional Superintendent visited the spot and conducted an inspection.During the course of the investigation, they got suspicious of accused Kantaraju and arrested him. During the interrogation, he accepted the heinous crime committed by him.JDS youth leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy demanded that the state government should immediately take appropriate legal action against the accused.The JDS leader said, “The brutal murder of a 10-year-old school girl who had come for tuition in Malavalli is a heinous incident that makes the civil society bow its head. A criminal who commits a mistake should be severely punished and the culprit should not be pardoned.”Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said, “It is shocking to know that a girl named Divya who was going to tuition in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district was taken and raped and murdered. Such incidents are a shame for the human race.
