In her heartfelt message, Shweta stated, “Today is Bhai 5th Death Anniversary. So much has happened since his death on 14th June 2020. Now, CBI has filed a report to the court and we are waiting to get it back. But what I would like to say today is whatever may happen, don’t lose heart and don’t lose faith on God or in goodness.”

She emphasized how Sushant’s memory can be preserved by manifesting the values he stood for — love, compassion, and love of learning.

Shweta also put out a touching plea to fans to not use her brother’s name for hate or division. She wrote, “Bhai hasn’t gone anywhere, believe me… he is in you, in me, in all of us. Every time we love with all our heart, every time we have childlike innocence towards life, every time we are inclined to learn more, we are bringing him alive.”

“Never use Bhai’s name to spread any negative feeling… he wouldn’t like that. He didn’t stand for that,” she added.

CBI Report Update Shared by Shweta

Shweta updated followers that the report by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sushant’s demise has been filed with the court and the family is now working on viewing it. This is after her March 2024 appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to accelerate the probe.

Whether through his body of work or his love for learning, Sushant left a lasting legacy that continues to guide generations.

Bombay High Court is going to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on February 19, asking for a proper probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his ex-manager, Disha Salian.

The PIL asks for the arrest and interrogation of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray in connection with the two deaths, which happened under mysterious circumstances.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Father Seeks Justice

In a conversation with ANI on Saturday, Sushant’s father KK Singh had hoped that the new government in Maharashtra would assist in bringing justice to his deceased son.

“I wish that whatever comes out of the court will be correct. And hopefully, it will happen early. We wanted justice with the CBI, but it didn’t do it on time. Now that it has reached the court, there is a hope that justice will be achieved. It is believed that the government is good. Whatever the incumbent CM will do will be good and well. Yes, there is much hope,” he said to ANI. Going over the emotional distress he has gone through ever since his son’s passing, he reasserted that Sushant did not commit suicide.

“It is natural to have an emotional moment of five years. There was just one boy. This has happened to him. One can think what will happen to the father. We also heard the media (On MLA Aditya Thackeray mention) but we do not know what the reality is. Now, it will be decided in the court about what the matter is. Those people will know. We can say that Sushant Singh would not have committed suicide,” KK Singh added.

The Circumstances Surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death

The 34-year-old actor was discovered dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. His death sparked nationwide controversy, leading to an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Big Relief To Rhea Chakraborty In Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case

October 25, 2024, 1:55 pm

In a notable development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Maharashtra state, and the Bureau of Immigration challenging the Bombay High Court’s decision to cancel look-out circulars against actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and their father.

SC Terms Petition as ‘Frivolous’

The bench, led by Justices B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan, criticized the petition, suggesting it was filed due to the “high-profile” nature of the accused rather than substantive grounds. Justice Gavai stated, “We are warning. You are filing such a frivolous petition, only because one of the accused is a high-profile person… It will be with exemplary cost. Both persons have deep roots in society.”

When the CBI’s counsel requested a delay in proceedings, Justice Gavai remarked, “If you want cost and some compliments to CBI, we will pass over.”

Significance in Ongoing Case

While further details on the legal developments are awaited, the Supreme Court’s dismissal provides a significant relief for Rhea Chakraborty in this high-profile case, underscoring the judiciary’s stance on merit-based litigation and emphasizing due process.

CBI CARRYING OUT INTENSIVE PROBE IN SUSHANT CASE, USING ADVANCED FORENSIC EQUIPMENT

December 31, 2020, 3:08 am

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday said its probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is going on and all aspects of the case are being thoroughly probed. The statement comes after BJP MP Subramanian Swamy wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the probe. Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh too recently raised questions over CBI’s long probe into the case.

The CBI is also using advanced mobile forensic equipment for analysis of dump data of the relevant cell tower locations related to the case, it said.

In a detailed reply to Swamy, Superintendent of Police, CBI, Nupur Prasad, in a letter dated 30 December, said: “The CBI is conducting investigation in a thorough and professional manner using latest scientific techniques. During investigation, all aspects are being looked at and no aspect has been ruled out as of date.”

Giving the details of the investigation so far, the agency said all places of concern like Aligarh, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Manesar (Gurgaon) and Patna have been visited by CBI teams.

The place of the incident — Sushant Singh’s body was found in his flat — has been visited by the investigators on numerous occasions ‘for better understanding of the circumstances related to the incident, CBI said.

The CBI responded to Swamy, after he wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the CBI probe in the death of the Bollywood actor, who was found dead at his Mumbai’s Bandra apartment on 14 June.

In her reply, Prasad told Swamy that the CBI team visited Mumbai on 20 August, a day after the Supreme Court gave a nod for the federal agency probe. “The investigating team took over the case papers of Patna Police FIR and also collected the case papers from Mumbai Police,” she said, adding that the team also visited all places of concern like Aligarh, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gurugram’s Manesar and Patna.

“The investigating team and senior officers also visited the place of incident on numerous occasions for better understanding of the circumstances related to the incident. The experts of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Delhi, which is considered to be the best in their field, also visited and examined the place of incident,” she said, adding that the experts also carried out a “simulation exercise”.

Forensic medicine experts also visited the place of incident, and the mortuary of Cooper Hospital during night and also discussed the case with autopsy surgeons to understand the procedure of post-mortem adopted by them, she said.

The CBI officer further said that during investigation, all the concerned witnesses have been examined to understand the circumstances, apprehensions raised by the complainant and his family members and other independent sources. “Intensive and thorough investigation has been carried out in this regard,” she said.

After registering the case the CBI has questioned Rhea, her brother, Shruti Modi, her father Indrajit, Miranda, his flatmate Siddharth Pithani and several others. The CBI has also recorded the statements of the family members of Sushant, including his father, and sisters Rani Singh, and Mitu Singh.

“The CBI is also carrying out advanced mobile forensic equipment including latest softwares for extraction and analysis of relevant data available in the digital devices and also for analysis of dump data of the relevant cell tower locations related to the case,” she said.

The CBI had registered a case on 6 August this year after a notification from the Centre on the recommendations of Bihar government. The case was based on the complaint of Sushant’s father K. K. Singh to Bihar Police dated 25 July.

The CBI has named Sushant’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s former house manager Samuel Miranda, his former manager Shruti Modi and others in the case.

Besides the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) also registered separate cases of money laundering and drug-related cases, respectively. The NCB arrested Showik on 4 September and Rhea on 7 September. Rhea was granted bail on 4 October, while her brother was granted bail almost three months after his arrest.

SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT MYSTERY REMAINS UNRAVELLED

December 28, 2020, 4:30 am

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to share in public domain the details of the probe conducted into the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The budding star was found dead at his flat on 14 June and the CBI was asked to ascertain the facts after the family of the deceased was unsatisfied with the inquest by the Mumbai Police. Some family members of Rajput had charged that he was murdered. However, prima facie, no evidence was found to establish that he was strangled to death by someone. According to the post-mortem report, the actor had committed suicide since there was nothing to suggest that he was throttled first and then his body was placed in a hanging position in his flat.

The tragic unnatural death had sparked off a nationwide debate with TV channels putting across various theories on prime time for a number of months. However, the coverage got diluted once the Bihar Assembly elections were announced and nothing has been heard since then on the cause of his death. Apart from the CBI, which was asked to inquire into the circumstances leading to Rajput’s end, the Enforcement Directorate was drafted to look into various aspects of financial transactions and the Narcotics Control Bureau probed the drugs angle. In the midst of the investigations, Rhea Chakraborty, Rajput’s live-in partner, was arrested and many others including some of his associates and assistants were also taken into custody. A team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences was asked to give expert opinion on the autopsy report of doctors from the Cooper Hospital. A forensic specialist from AIIMS prematurely leaked their inference which pointed out that Rajput had committed suicide. This leak was neither endorsed nor denied by the CBI which has so far maintained utmost secrecy regarding the case.

Seasoned police officers were of the view that it is extremely difficult to prove abetment in a suicide case since there are several judgements which have stipulated how this can be established. The Mumbai Police had faced a lot of criticism for its handling of the sensitive matter, forcing some retired police commissioners to move the court to intervene and stop the tarnishing of the police image by a section of the media. In this context, Deshmukh’s demand that the findings should be made public by the CBI is not misplaced. People would want to know how Rajput died, particularly because the subject became a discussion point throughout the country. If the CBI has not divulged the details, it may have pressing reasons for doing so. Its investigations may still be underway and some issues may be wanting greater clarity. But there is also apprehension that the case may get consigned to the archives unless some public disclosures are made. It is important since at one point, there was an attempt to link the son of a powerful politician to Rajput’s death as also that of a starlet who had died a few days earlier. The case had also acquired political dimensions and it would be in everyone’s interest that the matter reaches its logical conclusion.

NCB summons Arjun Rampal again

December 16, 2020, 3:20 am

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned actor Arjun Rampal for questioning at its Mumbai office on Wednesday.

The actor has been asked to be present before the NCB team, which is conducting an investigation into the alleged drug-use in Bollywood, following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June this year, an official said.

This is the second time that the anti-drugs bureau will question the model-turned actor in the case. On 13 November, Rampal was questioned by the agency for seven hours.

Rampal was summoned on Wednesday after the NCB obtained some information during interrogation of some of the persons arrested in the drugs case. The agency had conducted searches at Rampal’s residence last month, following which it seized electronic gadgets and some medicines under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The actor’s partner Gabriella Demtriades was also questioned by the NCB for two days in November. Gabriella’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades was arrested by the bureau in the case in October and it was found that he was in touch with many Bollywood celebrities, the official said.

Rampal’s friend Paul Bartel was also earlier arrested by the NCB in the drugs case. Based on some WhatsApp chats involving drugs, the NCB launched a probe into the alleged drug use in Bollywood after the death of Rajput in June this year.

The central agency had earlier arrested Rajput’s girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, some employees of the late actor and a few others under sections of the NDPS Act.

Rhea Chakraborty, her brother, and some other accused were later granted bail.

Meanwhile, a special NDPS court in Mumbai on Tuesday granted bail to Agisilaos Demetriades, brother of Rampal’s partner Gabriella, and two others in a drug-related case. Demetriades was arrested in October after the NCB raided a resort in Lonavala where he was celebrating his birthday and allegedly found 0.8 gm of a sticky brown substance. He was granted bail by Special Judge G.B. Gurao, said his lawyer Kushal Mor.
