Tragic Fire At Udit Narayan’s Mumbai Apartment

January 7, 2025, 3:33 pm

A devastating fire had broken out in the night of January 6 in Skypan Apartments, Andheri West, Mumbai, home to singer Udit Narayan. The incident began at 9:15 pm, which killed one and injured another person. Eight fire engines were used for the operation within minutes to curb the fire and evacuate people.

The fire sadly took away Udit Narayan’s 75-year-old neighbor Rahul Mishra on the 11th floor of the building. He succumbed to smoke inhalation when rushed to Kokilaben Hospital. Raunak Mishra, his cousin, was critically injured in the fire. It is suspected that an electrical appliance in Rahul Mishra’s flat was the reason behind the fire. However, a few eye witnesses said that the fire started with a burning diya as it caught curtains near it ablaze. Mrs. Mishra reportedly ran out for help, but in time, that help never came. Choking smoke and flames engulfed parts of the apartment, in shocking pictures from the scene.

Beyoncé Crowned Greatest Pop Star, See What Taylor Swift Has To Say About It

December 4, 2024, 5:57 pm

Taylor Swift was reportedly saying she admired Beyoncé when she lost the title of “Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century” to her. After the news from Billboard, the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer allegedly felt “really happy” for Beyoncé, according to a source talking to ‘Page Six’.

Taylor will always support strong female artists and thinks Beyoncé is so deserving of this honor,” the insider shared. Even though some of her fans are outraged, Swift holds no grudge. “She appreciates all the fan support she’s received but knows Beyoncé is a legend in the music industry. Taylor’s honored to have landed in the number two spot next to her,” the source said.

The source also quoted how Swift is proud of what she has achieved, “Taylor is proud of what she’s accomplished regardless of what spot she holds.

Following Billboard’s declaration of Beyoncé as the best pop star, Swifties were vocal with their dissatisfaction. Many of them felt that Taylor was a perfect candidate for the title due to her record-breaking performances. A fan wrote on X, “Taylor deserves the spot, we don’t care.” Another added, “Imo majority of new pop girlies are inspired by Taylor, not Beyoncé.” Some pointed out that despite having a 25-year career, Beyoncé doesn’t have a diamond record.

Billboard addressed such debates in its statement. “While Taylor Swift is the century’s biggest pop star by the numbers — from album sales to streams to touring dominance — our editorial staff has chosen Beyoncé as our No. 1 Greatest Pop Star of the Century, based on her full 25 years of influence, evolution, and impact,” the publication explained.

Honey Singh Praises AP Dhillon, Karan Aujla, and Guru Randhawa as ‘Superstars,’ Explains Why He Doesn’t Include Diljit Dosanjh

September 3, 2024, 4:09 am

In a recent interview, Yo Yo Honey Singh shared his thoughts on the music industry, emphasizing that in the past decade, only a few artists like AP Dhillon, Karan Aujla, and Guru Randhawa have achieved true superstardom. He also made a point of excluding Diljit Dosanjh from this list.

Honey Singh, a pioneering force in India’s rap and hip-hop scene, discussed the evolution of the music industry and its shift towards streaming stars rather than traditional superstars. Speaking to Mid-Day, he explained that while the music landscape has seen many rise to prominence, only a handful have reached the level of superstardom. He mentioned that Diljit Dosanjh, despite his immense success, did not fit into this category because he was already established and considered a legend long before the past decade.

Singh elaborated that Dosanjh had been a significant figure in the industry for many years and had achieved his status well before the recent surge in streaming popularity. In contrast, he pointed out that while artists like Dhillon, Aujla, and Randhawa have become superstars, many others have only managed to gain attention through streaming platforms without achieving lasting superstar status. Singh views this as a significant issue within the current music scene.

In a separate interview with The Lallantop, Honey Singh candidly discussed his views on some of his popular songs. He described the song “Blue Hai Paani Paani” from the film Yaariyan 2 as “the most stupid song” he has ever written, calling it “nonsense” and lacking substance. Singh revealed that the song was completed in just two hours, including music and recording, and expressed regret over its content.

Reflecting on his earlier hits like “Lungi Dance” and “Party All Night,” Singh admitted he was not fully aware of his actions during that period and felt that the praise he received was perhaps unwarranted. He noted that even now, people remain enthusiastic about these songs, which he finds amusing.

Recently, Singh collaborated with Neha Kakkar and Guru Randhawa on the song “Hauli Hauli” from the film Khel Khel Mein.

A post shared by BILLIE EILISH (@billieeilish)

Rather than adhering to the rollout strategies employed for her previous two albums, 2019’s ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ and 2021’s ‘Happier Than Ever,’ Eilish remarked that she’s “not doing singles” this time around, stating, “I wanna give it to you all at once.”

‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ will feature 10 tracks, all penned by Eilish and her brother, Finneas O’Connell, with whom she has exclusively collaborated on her previous two albums. “Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it,” she conveyed to fans. “love you love you love you.”

Late last week, Eilish hinted at the album title as she shared on Instagram a new tattoo that seemed to read, “hard & soft.” Following Eilish’s recent remarks, which sparked discussions, suggesting that the common practice of artists releasing numerous vinyl variants of an album to boost sales is “wasteful,” she will be adopting an eco-friendly approach to the physical editions of Hit Me Hard and Soft.

According to People, a note posted on the ‘What Was I Made For?’ musician’s website on April 8 revealed that she would release eight vinyl variants, each featuring identical track lists. These will be available through her official store as well as Target, Amazon, and Walmart, as reported by People.

November 25, 2022, 4:36 pm

Kris Wu, Chinese-Canadaian has been sentenced for 13 years in prison in a rape case, reported by the local media.
He will be deported after serving his term, a Chinese court reportedly stated, according to state-run media. Wu was initially jailed in July of last year, a month after a student, now 19, accused him of raping her when she was 17 during a date. She also claimed that he had done the same to other young women, but he had refuted her claims at the time.

According to the American Magazine Variety, rape in China typically results in a sentence of three to ten years in prison. However, the sentence can go all the way up to life in prison or possibly the death penalty in especially egregious situations.
Wu was tried in China in accordance with Chinese law despite being a Canadian citizen and having been born in China. Wu, also known as Wu Yifan, was born in Guangzhou in China and in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Online episodes of high-profile Wu-starring shows from major streamers and content studios, including Youku, iQiyi, MangoTV, and Bilibili, swiftly vanished last year.
In the past, famous people who got into legal trouble were cut from productions after they were finished, and their unreleased projects were put on hold indefinitely.

Numerous prestigious international companies, including Porsche and Louis Vuitton, terminated endorsement and other agreements with Wu when the rape claims surfaced last year.

‘Beauty is subjective’, says Bilal Saeed on his new song Umbrella

November 12, 2022, 6:03 pm

Body shaming is a delicate subject that is addressed in the new song The Umbrella by rapper Fateh Singh and Pakistani singer Bilal Saeed. Because he firmly thinks that “beauty is subjective,” the singer brought up this subject.

Hume aisa lagta hai jo humare jaisa nahin hai, ya jo hume samajh nahin aa raha, woh hona hi nahin chahiye. I don’t like that. I have always believed that beauty is a subjective matter. And songs are the only way to make people accept strong messages like body shaming and body positivity. It is essential to make people comfortable in their own skin. They should believe that they can be whoever they want to be and live however they want to. It’s their choice,” he explains.

Ask him if he has ever been subjected to body shaming himself, and the Baari singer says, “There have been no such incidents, thankfully. But I wanted to highlight this issue because with the advent of social media, people do not think before trolling. I wanted to make an impact with my song.”

The artiste, who has worked in India as well on several hit songs, also talks about having apprehensions, if any, about touching upon a sensitive issue like this. He shares, “A gift that comes with being an artiste is that you know…you understand to what extent you can convey a message and where the line should be drawn. So I didn’t face that issue because I am also very sensitive as an artiste. Also, while I am addressing the social issue in the video, the song is very entertaining. In fact, that was the whole idea -to not make a social issue-based song and yet convey our message. And I think we did it really well,” he ends.

Sidhu Moose Wala murder case: Deepak Tinu, a close aide to Lawrence Bishnoi, eludes police

October 2, 2022, 3:58 pm

Deepak Tinu, a key suspect in the murder of Punjabi musician and Congressman Sidhu Moosewala, escaped from custody in the Mansa district on Sunday, according to police. Tinu is an associate of jailed mobster Lawrence Bishnoi.

When Tinu was being transported in a private vehicle from Kapurthala Jail to Mansa on remand on Saturday night, they claimed he was able to elude Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) agents. “When Tinu escaped from detention, he was being transported to Mansa’s CIA staff headquarters from Kapurthala Jail. Investigations into the suspects were necessary in relation to the Moosewala murder case “Police in Mansa claimed.

The police have teams searching for Tinu, according to M S Chinna, IG of Bhatinda, and no police officers will be spared if they are discovered to have assisted in his escape.

Shehzad Poonawalla, a BJP lawmaker, criticised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his administration on Sunday for allegedly being too soft on crime.

“AAP’s VVIP netas were protected by a 42-car convoy for proxy CM Bhagwant Mann, but Deepak Tinu, a key figure in the Moosewala murder plot, escaped from Punjab police custody! AAP is assisting gangs rather than enforcing a crackdown on them! Do we require further evidence?” Tweeted Poonawalla.

Moosewala, 28, was shot dead on May 29 by unidentified assailants in Mansa, a day after the state government curtailed his security cover. The Punjabi singer was shot at point-blank range and was declared brought dead on arrival at the Mansa civil hospital.
The killers fired over 30 rounds at Moosewala, who was found slumped in the driver’s seat by locals.
The investigation suggested Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind of the daylight killing. His close aide Goldy Brar, who is said to be based in Canada, is also under investigation in this case. Police have issued a Red Corner Notice against Brar through Interpol.
Moosewala had fought an election from Mansa in the last assembly election on a Congress ticket but was defeated by AAP’s Vijay Singla.

September 10, 2022, 12:42 pm

Rapper-singer Honey Singh has officially parted ways with his wife Shalini Talwar according to the reports.

The former couple has finally parted ways on mutual terms and understanding after battling a court trial for some time.

Earlier, in 2021 Shalini filed a case of domestic violence against Honey Singh at the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi.

The proceedings of the court went on for a year and now the couple is officially going their way. According to media reports Singh has given alimony of Rs 1 crore as no official document has come.

Meanwhile, in 2021 a case was filed by Shalini against Honey Singh under “the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act” and Rs 20 crores in alimony was demanded by Shalini.

Shalini also urged the court to pass a protection order under section 18 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005.

After the allegations Honey Singh, took to Instagram and said, ”I am deeply pained and distressed by the false and malicious allegations levied against me and my family by my companion/wife of 20 years, Mrs. Shalini Talwar. The allegations are severely odious.”

“I have never issued a public statement or press note in the past despite being subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health, and negative media coverage in general. However, I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed at my family – my old parents and younger sister – who have stood by me during some very difficult and trying times and comprise my world. The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature,” Singh said.

I wanted to tell people how he lived. I have been trying to spread his music. He was 47-years-old when he came to the limelight and he passed away at the age of 60. (So), he didn’t get as much time as other artists did. I have never seen such a versatile human and an artiste. I’m glad that my first award is for a movie on him.”

The singer not only gave playback in the film but also played his grandfather in the film. He nonchalantly admits that he has not got many awards, but this national recognition ‘tickles him pink. “They (awards) are not important, but it feels good. It’s great to be recognised. I have received a few awards in my life, but I never thought of getting them. But this one I did not expect, “says Rahul.

The singer-actor said that since the National Awards announcement on Saturday night, “it’s been crazy.”

He further added, “It is ‘happy hectic. I’ve made up my mind to take anything that comes my way and this time in stride. I was recently invited to an interview in Mumbai. Additionally, I rarely attend interviews. I often spend my time alone and contemplating music. However, the main reason I went there was to celebrate receiving the prize. I just like the attention.”
