</excerpt>

The Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Shraddha Walker murder case on Tuesday, indicating further progress in the investigation.

According to Delhi Police, this supplementary chargesheet contains scores of digital and forensic evidence collected during the investigation. The digital evidence includes the Google location history of Aaftab Poonawala which corroborates with his travel to the locations where he dispatched the body parts.

The charge sheet includes the Google locations of the phone of Shraddha Walker and shows how the phone travelled twice to Bombay and the history disappeared when Aaftab was called for questioning.

The chargesheet also mentioned the detailed report regarding digital evidence, including the search history of Aaftab Poonawala regarding the use of a “flare gun”. His other search history also corroborates with the events that unfolded.

The chargesheet has been filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla at Saket Court and is a supplementary chargesheet running into more than 3,000 pages, most of which contains digital and forensic evidence reports.

Saket court last year has started the trial in the murder case of Shraddha Walkar, killed allegedly by her live-in partner, Aaftab Poonawala who chopped her body into pieces and dumped these in various places.

The trial court had earlier framed charges against Aaftab on May 9 for offences under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).
Shraddha Walkar was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawala, on May 18, 2022. After the killing, the accused cut off the body into 35 pieces and threw them in the jungle to destroy the evidence. Some of the parts were recovered later on.

</excerpt>

Delhi’s Saket court on Monday passed an order on a plea moved by Delhi Police against a channel and other channels seeking an order restraining them from disseminating content of charge sheet including digital evidence in the Shraddha murder case stating that it is “not” a public document.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rakesh Kumar Singh passed a restraining order against the channel and list the matter on April 17 for further hearing. The court said that a detailed hearing will be given to both the parties. Special public prosecutor (SPP) Amit Prasad said that the Delhi Police earlier approached the court on credible information that one of the media houses has accessed the audio-video evidence related to the Narco test and the Practo app.

This case is related to the alleged murder of Shraddha Walkar on May 18, 2022 by his live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala.
In light of the attorneys’ strike in lower courts, Delhi’s Saket Court deferred the hearing on charges against accused Aftab Poonawala in the Shraddha Walkar murder case on April 6.

Aftab was produced in the court physically. The next date for the hearing is April 14.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Manisha Khurana Kakkar after noting that the lawyers are not appearing due to absenteeism from work adjourned the matter.
The defence counsel is to argue on the point of charge.

SPP Amit Prasad had submitted that there is a clear judgement that the charge under section 201 of IPC can be framed against the person who destroys the evidence to shield the main offender as well against the person who committed the main offence.
On the earlier date, the counsel for accused Aftab had argued that the charges of murder and disappearance of evidence can’t be framed jointly. These charges can be framed alternatively.

Delhi police opposed the contention and sought time to place Judgements.
Advocate Akshay Bhandari had argued that either I (Aftab) can be charged with murder or for disappearing the evidence.

The accused cannot be charged for murder and disappearance of evidence under sections 302 and 201 of IPC together, the counsel argued. It can be framed alternatively. He argued that the accused can be charged with the offence of murder under 302 IPC or he can be framed for the offence of shielding the main offender under section 201 IPC.

Advocate Bhandari had argued Mere saying that I (Aftab) am guilty of murder is not sufficient. They have statements of eyewitnesses only. The Prosecution has to show the manner in which the crime was committed.
SPP Amit Prasad rebutted that the joint charges can be framed under section 201 for disappearing the evidence.

Delhi Police on 24th January filed a voluminous 6629-page chargesheet against Aaftab Amin Poonawalla in the Shraddha Walker murder case. The Saket court is likely to take cognizance of the chargesheet. The investigation officer filed the chargesheet before the Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla.

Aaftab produced through video conferencing from Tihar Jail after the expiry of his judicial custody. Aaftab told the court that he wants to change his counsel advocate MS Khan. After the proceedings, the court extended the judicial custody of Aaftab till 7th February.

The chargesheet has been filed under sections of 302, 201 and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. The court listed the matter for cognizance of the chargesheet. The court also directed to physically produce Aaftab Poonawalla on the next date of hearing. During the investigation, Delhi Police conducted the narco analysis test, polygraph test and collected DNA evidence to establish the allegations against Aaftab.

According to police sources, the Delhi Police have drafted a 3000-page chargesheet against Aaftab Amin Poonawalla, accused of murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar and chopping her body into 35 pieces with a saw-like object.

100 witnesses have been listed; forensics and electronic evidence have been made the basis of the chargesheet. It is likely to be submitted by January end.

The accused, Aftab Poonawalla, last year on May 18, strangled Shraddha Walkar to death in Delhi’s Chhatarpur area, then cut the body into several pieces. The police have also mentioned in the charge sheet that the bones recovered from the forests of Chhatarpur and their DNA report which confirmed that the bones belonged to Shraddha.

Apart from this, Aftab’s confession is also on the record, along with the narco test. Though, as per sources, these reports do not have much importance in the court. It is alleged that after chopping Shraddha’s body, Aaftab bought a refrigerator to preserve the chopped pieces before disposing of the remains at different locations in and around Delhi; at night-time over the next 18 days.

In the Shraddha Walker murder case, the judicial custody of Aftab Poonawala has been extended by Saket court, Delhi on Tuesday for the next 14 days.

Meanwhile, accused Poonawala has urged to study some law books on which the court has also directed the authorities to provide him with warm clothes.

Earlier on 24 December a voice sample of Poonawala was obtained by Delhi Police and after which the Delhi court said in the case a fair investigation is required in the larger public interest.

“True, a fair trial is the right of the accused but it is also true that fair investigation is also required in the larger public interest as the offense cannot escape and crime cannot go unnoticed merely because the accused is not ready to aid in the investigation,” Metropolitan Magistrate Vijayshree Rathore of Saket court said.

“Thus, the application moved by the Investigating Officer (IO) seeking permission for a voice sampling test of the accused is allowed,” the court said.

Moreover, while giving the decision ‘Ritesh Sinha vs State UP’, the case was also referred by the court and said “judicial order compelling a person to give a sample of his voice is not violative of Fundamental Right to Privacy, under Article 20(3) of the Constitution of India”.

“It was further observed in the case that the Fundamental Right to Privacy cannot be construed as absolute and must bow down to compelling public interest,” the court stated.

The court also stated, “Even though the accused is not willing to give voice sample for voice sampling test, however, I am of the considered view that the accused can still be asked to give the voice sample to investigating agency for reaching the ends of the justice and also for a fair investigation.”

However, Aaftab killed her live-in partner Shraddha and in 35 pieces Aaftab chopped her body. Based on his confession he was arrested in November and on 9 December Aaftab was produced before a court via video conferencing and for 14 days his judicial custody was extended.

Since 9 November 2022, the plea has been submitted that the accused has no money to buy clothes for the winter season.

Earlier on 23 December 2022 Delhi police got permission to seek a voice sample of Aftab.

In the Sharddha Walker murder case, the DNA report on Wednesday confirms bone, and hair samples are of Shraddha Walkar.

Meanwhile, in the forest area of Mehrauli, a mitochondrial DNA report of the samples was found and sent for testing at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting Diagnostic (CDFD) in Hyderabad. That has matched with the victim’s father.

“Mitochondrial DNA report confirms hair and bone sample matching with Shraddha Walker. Delhi Police has received the report from the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics,” Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda said.

“One piece of bone and a bunch of hair purported to be of the deceased have matched with that of her father and brother which establishes the identity of the bone and hair to be that of Shraddha Walker,” Special CP stated.

Moreover, for post-mortem examination, the bones will be now sent, and a medical board at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will conduct the PME.

In Tunisha Sharma’s death case the main accused Sheezan Khan has revealed that he decided to end the relationship with Tunisha after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar.

Meanwhile, the accused Khan said, ‘he was so disturbed by the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar” allegedly by her live-in partner, that Khan decided to end their relationship.”

After emerging repercussions from the Shraddha Walkar case, Sheezan told police that he ended the relationship because of the Shraddha Walker murder case.

Moreover, Sheezan also revealed that after the break-up Tunisha tried to attempt suicide and said, “Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at that time I saved her and told Tunisha’s mother to take special care of her.”

Earlier a fortnight before she was found dead inside a toilet Sheezan broke up with Tunisha.

Under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, the case was registered against Sheezan and Waliv police produced Khan in the court.

However, on 24 December on the set of a TV Serial Tunisha was found dead in the toilet. Both the actors were in a relationship and had broken up 15 days ago. After the breakup, Tunisha was under stress.

Furthermore, both Tunisha and Sheezan’s phones have been sent to the forensic lab, and calls and chats can be retrieved to understand the whole matter.

According to the police sources, “The police have sent the mobile phones of both Tunisha and Sheezan to the forensic lab so that the calls and chats between the two can be retrieved to understand what happened between the duo and what drove Tunisha to death after 15 days of breakup.”

Notably, Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma, and her maternal uncle’s statements have been recorded.

“Family members are in shock after this incident. Tunisha used to live with her mother in the Indraprastha building on Meera Road. She used to bear all the expenses of the family, but now she is no more. Whoever is the accused should be punished,” Tunisha’s uncle said.

The accused Aaftab Poonawalla, in the Shraddha murder case, applied for bail in the Saket court on Friday. The accused filed a bail application in Court No. 303.

Meanwhile, the court has kept the bail application pending till Saturday and will hear the matter on Saturday.

Earlier on Thursday, the Central Forensic Science Laboratory on Thursday confirmed that DNA found from South Delhi’s Mehrauli forest area has been matched from Shraddha Walkar’s father.

Moreover, the investigators were not able to ascertain the bones and blood samples from Aftab Poonawala’s Chhattarpur residence in south Delhi. But after the DNA report, the investigators will get great help to solve the investigation.

Aaftab killed her live-in partner Shraddha and in 35 pieces Aaftab chopped her body. Based on his confession he was arrested in November and on 9 December Aaftab was produced before a court via video conferencing and for 14 days his judicial custody was extended.

“The forensics reports will be out soon. It will help us ascertain if it was Walkar whose bones we have collected or someone else. The DNA extracted from bones and blood samples need to be matched with Walker’s father’s and brother’s samples. Reports on murder weapons are also awaited and we will soon have a breakthrough,” an investigator said.

However, to find the truth police are gathering evidence through psycho-analysis tests, lie-detector, and narco-analysis tests.

“Based on his disclosures we are corroborating scientific evidence with a statement he gave to us. It will be instrumental to the case as his statement alone might not be admissible in court. Multiple teams are in process of collecting evidence that will eventually help us in filing a watertight charge sheet to take this case to conviction,” the officer stated.

Moreover, Aaftab killed her live-in partner Shraddha and in 35 pieces Aaftab chopped her body.

Moreover, to solve the Shraddha murder case Aftab’s polygraph and narco test reports can play an important role in the police investigation.

However, the DNA report is yet to come from CFSL, based on whether the bones found from different locations are related to Shraddha’s body or not, it will also be identified.

Vikas Walker, father of Shraddha Walkar who was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, demanded the death penalty for accused Aaftab Poonawalla while also alleging that he faced “many problems” because of the Vasai Police.

Vikas alleged that if the Vasai Police had helped him, “Shraddha would have been alive”.

However, he added that Delhi Police has assured his family that they will get justice.
Addressing a joint press conference with BJP leader Kirit Somaiya in Mumbai, Vikas said, “My daughter was brutally murdered. I faced many problems because of the Vasai police, if they had helped me, my daughter would have been alive.” “Delhi Police assured us that we will get justice. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also assured us of the same,” he added.

Seeking a probe against the family members and relatives of the accused, Shraddha’s father also demanded Aaftab be hanged till death.
“I expect a similar lesson for Aaftab Poonwala in the way he murdered my daughter. He should be hanged. A probe should be conducted against Aftab’s family members, relatives and all others included in the incident,” he said.

Pointing out the drawbacks and misuse of some mobile applications (dating apps), he also sought “restrictions” on them.
“There should also be restrictions on some mobile apps. Children older than 18 yrs of age should be somewhat controlled and they should be given counselling. What happened to me shouldn’t happen to anyone else.
Earlier, Aftab was in judicial custody for 13 days. After serving 13 days in judicial detention, he was produced before the court through videoconference on Friday.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla, is currently detained in Tihar Jail on murder charges in connection with the death of his live-in partner Shraddha Walker.

The 28-year-old is currently being held in judicial custody for dismembering Shraddha’s body and keeping the chopped body pieces in a refrigerator before dumping them in the Chhatarpur jungles in south Delhi. Aaftab spends his free time planning his chess strategies, frequently alone himself but also occasionally with two other prisoners, according to the jail officials.

Aaftab is quite shrewd, and one of the case’s investigators even stated that a “new twist” could be anticipated.

Sources claim that Aaftab shares a cell with two other prisoners, who frequently play chess there.

Aaftab is accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha by strangling her and dismembering her body into 35 pieces. Additionally, he is accused of chilling the cut body parts before dumping them in Gurugram and Delhi’s forests.

Aaftab, who admitted to killing Shraddha and dismembering her body into 35 pieces, was accused by the police of providing false information.

Aaftab was providing false information and deceiving the investigators, according to the Delhi Police’s testimony in court.

In the most recent development in the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi’s Mehrauli, the accused Aftab Poonawala admitted to the police during questioning that he was enraged as Shraddha allegedly went on a date on May 17, according to reports.

The authorities further verified this using Shraddha’s call details and the locations of her cell towers.

Shraddha had travelled to Gurugram, according to Aftab’s subsequent allegations, to meet a date she had found on the dating app Bumble. Shraddha returned to their Mehrauli apartment the following day, on May 18, in the late afternoon.

During the police interrogation, the accused further admitted that this allegedly started a dispute between the two before he strangled her to death.

The police had also contacted Bumble in an effort to learn more about Shraddha and her purported date. However, according to reports, the police have not yet revealed what was said in the response.

Aftab previously disclosed to the police that they were at odds and that he had dumped Shraddha. He had also stated that they were no longer living together as a couple and that they were instead living as flatmates in the rented apartment.

Aftab had planned a trip to Mumbai for May 19, but had to cancel it due to the murder he had just committed. He then bought some knives and scissors to dispose of the body. He used knives and scissors to slit her intestine before chopping off her hand and ankles.

Aftab claimed during the recent narco-analysis test that he visited a friend named Badri, whose home was close to the forested area, before having the idea to dump Shraddha’s body parts there. In the Chhatarpur Pahadi neighbourhood of south Delhi, Badri lived close to Aftab’s rental apartment.

According to police sources, Aftab admitted to conducting reconnaissance deep in the forest and finding locations where he could dispose of the victim’s body parts during the narco test. Aftab had seen the wooden area close to Badri’s home. Additionally, he looked online for remote locations where he could dispose of Shraddha’s cut body pieces.

The accused, Aaftab Amin Poonawala, took a polygraph and underwent a narco-analysis test; reportedly, neither revealed any new information, and he provided similar answers to the questions they asked about the case’s background.

Aaftab was completely cooperative during both his polygraph and narco tests, according to sources. It does not add any new information to the narrative, according to insiders, who noted that an early investigation revealed that he provided similar responses during both exams. Aaftab admitted during the tests that he had murdered Shradha and had dumped her body parts in the city’s forests.

The DNA report of Shradha Walkar is also anticipated next week, according to the police, who also stated that specific bones found in the forest so far will be examined and confirmed before doctors examine her and confirm her demise.

“The quantum and quality of specific bones will help doctors analyse and confirm whether Sharddha is actually dead or not,” said the senior official.
Police are yet to find the skull of Shradha and other remaining parts of the body, even as a search is going on for the same.
Police said, “We have enough evidence to prove Poonawala guilty and are awaiting digital footprints and evidence to correlate and connect the dots between the missing links so far.”

Police claimed to have found additional evidence, but it is currently confidential because it could jeopardise the ongoing investigation.

In the ongoing Shraddha Murder Case, Aaftab’s most recent girlfriend was shocked after hearing about the horrific incident and said that she was unaware of the human body parts were kept inside Aaftab’s Chhatarpur residence when she visited there two times after the murder.
According to her, on October 12, Aftab gave her a gorgeous artificial ring. This ring belongs to Shraddha, according to sources.
Aaftab’s new companion was stopped by the police, who also took her statement and recovered the ring.
According to rumours, Aaftab’s husband works as a psychiatrist.

According to a statement made to the police, this acquaintance claimed that although she had visited Aftab’s apartment twice in the month of October, she was unaware of Shraddha’s murder or the discovery of human remains inside. She claimed Aftab never displayed signs of fear. She added that he frequently used to talk to her about his home in Mumbai.
An internet dating app was used to connect Aaftab and his new girlfriend. According to the police, Aftab was in contact with 15 to 20 girls through different dating apps.
During the investigation process, the police traced his dating app record and found out about a girl who came in contact with Aftab through the app on May 30, about 12 days after Sharddha’s murder.
Aftab’s psychiatrist friend remarked that she never thought that his mental health was not in the best condition and that his behaviour seemed normal, even very kind. She added that Aftab frequently gave her perfumes as gifts and that he had a collection of various perfumes and deodorants.
According to her, Aaftab used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and roll them himself, but he frequently spoke about quitting smoking shortly.
She further asserted that Aftab loved a variety of cuisines, frequently ordered non-vegetarian dishes from various restaurants to be delivered to his home, and exhibited interest in the way restaurant chefs arranged their dishes.
According to police sources, Aaftab’s new partner is receiving counselling because she was discovered to be in shock after learning the specifics of the Shraddha murder case.

Aaftab Poonawala, who is accused of chopping his girlfriend Shraddha Walkar’s body into at least 35 pieces, was being carried in a police van outside the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) office in Rohini on Monday when two members of a Hindu group were alleged to have attacked it with swords

They are both from Gurugram: Kuldeep Thakur and Nigam Gujjar. They were turned in on Tuesday and given a 14-day custody sentence in a Delhi court.

The two were arrested on charges of rioting, unlawful assembly, interfering with the performance of police duties, and using criminal force. According to a senior police officer with knowledge of the situation, the scene included five swords that the suspected attackers used. The incident was caught on camera.

The officer cited the attack and said security arrangements outside the FSL office have been increased as Poonawala is scheduled to be brought there for the remaining session of the polygraph test. “Apart from the local police, personnel from Border Security Force have also been deployed. The police personnel to be deployed there have been instructed to remain vigilant and ensure no untoward incident like the one that happened on Monday.”

On Monday, while Delhi Police officers were bringing Poonawala back to Tihar jail following his polygraph test, a group of men claiming to be members of the Hindu Sena, some brandishing swords, attempted to kill him outside the FSL office. While Thakur, 34, and Gujjar, 32, were being held, several of the attackers were able to escape.

The murder case of Shraddha Walkar has frightening new information emerging every day. Authorities have now disclosed that after planning the horrific crime, the accused, Aaftab Amin Poonawala, gave Walkar’s ring to a different girlfriend.

The new information is related to Aaftab’s confession to the Delhi Police on November 14, in which he admitted to dismembering his live-in partner Shraddha and dumping the dismembered body parts in Delhi’s forested areas. He admitted to killing the 26-year-old after the two had argued, according to what he told the police. They met on a dating app and had been living together for more than two years.

The investigation revealed that Aaftab’s girlfriend, the one he was close to after Shraddha, was where Shraddha’s ring was found. Days after killing Shraddha, Aaftab had even called her to his apartment in Chhatarpur. When this girl arrived at Aaftab’s home, Shraddha’s body parts were lying on the floor and kept in the refrigerator.

The murder weapon used by Aaftab Amin Poonawala to kill Shraddha Walker and then cut her body into 35 pieces was found by Delhi Police on Monday. The change occurs a day after the accused was sentenced to 13 days of judicial detention. He is kept in barrack number 4, a private cell with no other convicts, in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Speaking to the media, Shraddha Walkar’s father expressed his desire for Aaftab to receive the death penalty.

“I want him to be hanged.”

He continued by saying that he would prefer for Aaftab to get a sentence that was harsher than the death penalty.

“Agar usne tukde tukde kiye hai, toh uske bhi tuke tukde ho. Phaasi dijiye, usse bura ho toh who karo (if Aaftab has chopped up my daughter’s body, then I want his body to be chopped too. If there is anything worse than a death sentence, then award that),” Shraddha’s father said.

The Delhi Police have confirmed that they have not received DNA test report of Shraddha yet.

“DNA test report (of victim’s body parts) has not been received by the police”, said Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Zone. Earlier the police confirmed that polygraph test of the accused, Aaftab Amin Poonawalla could not be conducted.

Speaking about the test, Sagar Preet Hooda said, “Polygraph test of the accused Aaftab Amin in Mehrauli police station case FIR No 659/22 under section 365/302/201 IPC could not be held today”.

Notably Delhi Police has taken the DNA samples to match with the body parts found. Delhi Police is probing the Shraddha Walker murder case in which her live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala had strangulated Walkar to death allegedly and chopped her body into 35 pieces, dumped it in the Chhatarpur area of the national capital.

Delhi Police interrogation revealed that Aftab killed Shraddha on May 18 and later started planning for disposing of her body. He told police that he had read about human anatomy so that it could help him in chopping off the body. Police said that Aftab, after searching in shopping mode Google, cleaned blood stains from the floor with some chemicals and disposed of stained clothes.

Meanwhile, the Southern District Police of Delhi had on November 17 contacted their Eastern counterparts in a bid to match the DNA sample of chopped body parts including a human head which the latter had recovered earlier in June.

A suitcase with a woman’s body parts has been found in a suitcase in the forest area of Haryana’s Faridabad on Thursday afternoon. The police is suspecting them to be of Shraddha Walker, who was murdered by her live-in-partner Aftab Amin Poonawala in Chattarpur, Delhi.

Following the discovery of the bag containing the body parts in the Surajkund forest region, the Faridabad Police called the Delhi Police. The remains were discovered near the luggage, wrapped in a plastic bag and a sack, along with some clothing and a belt, according to authorities.

According to a statement from the Faridabad Police, it appeared at first glance that a person had been killed somewhere else and that a portion of the body had been put here to evade identification.

A team of Mehrauli police from South Delhi, who are looking into the horrifying Shraddha murder case, also arrived at the scene and joined the inquiry as a result of the information being provided by Faridabad police with Delhi police.

The body parts found seems to be months old and its difficult to figure out whether it was a man or woman, said sources.

The body parts are sent for postmortem examination and things will become clear once the postmortem report is received.

“Faridabad police officials have also said that they will keep samples aside, in case Delhi police would want to go for a DNA test,” official sources said.

The Faridabad Police contacted the Delhi Police after finding the bag carrying the body pieces in the Surajkund forest area. In addition to some clothing and a belt, the remains were also found wrapped in plastic bags and sacks close to the luggage, according to the officials.

The Faridabad Police stated that at first inspection, it appeared as though a person had been slain elsewhere and that a chunk of the body had been moved here to elude identification.

Due to the information shared by Faridabad police with Delhi police, a team of Mehrauli police from South Delhi—who are investigating into the horrific Shraddha murder case—also arrived and started the investigation.

He preserved her body parts in a refrigerator and then dumped them in Chhatarpur’s forests.
Meanwhile, a previously filed complaint by Shraddha to the Maharashtra Police has surfaced, where she asked the police to take some action or otherwise Aftab will harm her.
In her letter to the Police, Shraddha alleged that Aftab beat her and threatened to kill her.
“If something happens to me, you should know who to go after,” she further wrote in her letter to police.
She further hinted in her letter that Aftab’s family also knows that he wants to kill her.
Based on these hints, Aftab’s family can be recalled for questioning. Although, their primary statements were recorded by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
According to Tulini Police, the dead had written a report on November 23, 2020, and Shraddha had gone to her neighbour to register the complaint.
Aaftab said in court in Delhi on Tuesday that he killed his lover in the “thick of the moment.”
After his five days in police custody expired on Tuesday, he was brought before the Saket court in the capital.
In the nation’s capital on Tuesday, a court-approved polygraph examination of Aaftab was started. The process of administering a polygraph test on Aaftab has started, according to Rohini, Sanjeev Gupta, assistant director of the Forensic Science Laboratory, and the results would be available in a week.
Aaftab admitted to killing and dismembering his live-in spouse in their apartment in West Delhi’s Chhatarpur, according to Delhi Police, after being apprehended in the crime.
Gupta informed the reporters, “We’ve been directed by the Delhi Police and our director to process this case fast. We are working on some parameters that are important before conducting a narco test.”

A series of questions are asked to the subject during a polygraph exam while physiological markers including blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration are monitored. The subject’s honesty is then assessed using this information.

The Delhi High Court dismissed a plea seeking the transfer Shraddha murder case investigation from Delhi Police to CBI. The Bench of Justice Satish Chander Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad on Tuesday said we find not a single good reason to entertain this plea. The Court also said that “This is a kind of Publicity Interest Litigation as the deceased parents have no grievance against Delhi Police investigation but you have.”

The court also remarked that “We are not an investigation monitoring agency.” The court was also informed that Delhi Police has already completed 80 percent of the investigation by a team of 200 police officials led by Additional Commissioner of Police(ACP) who themselves are handling the investigation.

Advocate Joginder Tulli (Retd IPS) appeared for the petitioner stated that the investigation is not being carried out efficiently by Delhi Police due to administrative/staff paucity as lack of sufficient technical and scientific equipment to find out the evidence and the witness as the incident had taken place about six months back.

“The forensic evidence in the present case has not been preserved properly by the Delhi Police since all the alleged recoveries are being touched and accessed by different public persons and media personnel within the Mehrauli Police Station, alleged scene of crime i.e. house of the deceased, place of recoveries i.e. Mehrauli, Chhattarpur forest etc. which are clearly evident in the various news coverage of the present case,” the plea read.

The plea further stated that the faulty investigation is the reason which prompts most heinous crimes and result in the acquittal of the accused as per the National Crime Records Bureau.

Meanwhile, a Delhi court has ordered Rohini Forensic Science Lab to conduct a narco test of accused Aftab Poonawala within five days.

Aaftab Amin Poonawala, the suspect in the murder of Shraddha Walkar, said in court in Delhi on Tuesday that he killed his lover in the “heat of the moment.”

Aftab Poonawala was brought before the Saket court through video conferencing in a special hearing on Tuesday, and the court extended his police custody for a further four days. After his five-day police detention period was through, Aaftab was brought before the Saket court.

“What happened, that happened in heat of the moment,” Aaftab told the court.

Aaftab additionally declared that he is aiding the probe. He also admitted to the court that he was having trouble remembering the incident.

In May of this year, the accused reportedly strangled and then dismembered the body of his live-in partner, Shraddha Walker.

Additionally, the Delhi Police filed a petition with a lower court, asking for authorization to test Poonawala’s polygraph.

Police had earlier claimed that Poonawala, who admitted to killing and dismembering his live-in partner, was giving false information.

The case was referred by Saket Court’s metropolitan magistrate, Aviral Shukla, to magistrate Vijayshree Rathore, who authorised a narcoanalysis test on Aftab.

In a previous court filing, Delhi Police claimed that Aftab was providing false information and deceiving the investigation.

The second scientific investigation that Delhi police sought to conduct on Aaftab was the request for a polygraph test.

The court mandated a narcotics test on Aaftab be performed by Rohini Forensic Science Laboratory within five days, on Thursday.

Additionally, a petition has been submitted to the Delhi High Court asking that the Central Bureau of Investigation take over the investigation into the death of Shraddha from the Delhi Police (CBI).

On the basis of Shraddha’s father’s accusation, the Delhi Police solved the six-month-old blind murder case and detained Aftab Amin Poonawalla.

Following their online dating encounter, Aftab and Shraddha moved in together at a Chhatarpur rental home. On November 10, Delhi police got a complaint from Shraddha’s father and filed a FIR.

After killing Shraddha on May 18, Aftab Poonawala began making plans to dispose of her body, according to the Delhi Police’s investigation.

Aaftab Amin Poonawala, the defendant in the murder of Shraddha Walker, is being subjected to a polygraph test, and the Delhi police have petitioned a lower court to seek permission.

The police claimed that Aaftab, who admitted to killing and dismembering his live-in girlfriend, was supplying false information. The case was submitted to Magistrate Vijayshree Rathore by Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla of Saket Court after she had previously authorised a narcoanalysis test on Aftab.

The court is likely to hear the plea on Tuesday.

Aaftab will be brought before the court when his five days of police confinement have passed, according to sources.

In a previous court filing, Delhi police claimed that Aftab was providing false information and deceiving the investigation.

The plea for a polygraph test is the second scientific examination that Delhi police sought to conduct on Aaftab.

The court mandated a narcotics test on Aaftab be performed by Rohini Forensic Science Laboratory within five days, on Thursday.

While extending the accused’s imprisonment by an additional five days, the court instructed the investigating officer in the case to refrain from using third-degree violence on the defendant.

Vijayshree Rathore, a metropolitan magistrate, had approved the request for Aaftab’s narcoanalysis test.

After noting the accused’s approval through Legal Aid Counsel Harshit Sagar, the court accepted the plea. Through video conferencing, the accused was able to follow the proceedings in court.

“The FSL, Rohini, is directed to allow the IO to conduct a narcotics analysis test of the accused within five days from today,” the court had said on Thursday.
During the proceedings, the accused was explained the meaning of the narco analysis test and its consequences. He was further informed that since he was not physically produced before the court and his consent for the test was being sought through video conferencing, his consent would be recorded through the legal-aid counsel appointed on his behalf, Harshit Sagar, on November 14.

Delhi Police team has recorded the statements of 11 people in connection with the Shraddha murder case, sources informed on Monday.

Shraddha’s friends Laxman Nadar, Rahul Rai, Godwin, Shivani Mhatre and her husband, Aftab-flat Shraddha’s owner Jayshree Patkar, Secretary of Unique Park, where Aftab’s family resided – Abdullah Khan, Ramdas Kevat, President of Unique Park, and Govind Yadav, the owner of Packers and Movers, who sent Aftab’s goods from Vasai to Chhatar In addition, a team from the Delhi Police led by SHO Mehrauli visited the Bidhuri Dental Clinic in the capital to get a second opinion from the dentist on the recently recovered jaw.

The doctor in attendance claimed that the police were attempting to connect the denture, which had undergone treatment, with the jaw that had been found in the Mehrauli forest.
The police claim that Shraddha received root canal therapy for her teeth in Mumbai.
The physician claimed that the Delhi Police team had carried the Mumbai investigation report with them as well.
“The police had come to us only to take a second opinion,” the doctor said.
The investigation is being done on whether Aftab had some other phone number that he was using.
“The police believe that Aftab used more than one number. The police got this information from the bills recovered by the police during the investigation of this case. The first bill was that of the movers and packers who got them shifted from Mumbai’s Vasai to Delhi. The second bill is from Tilak Electronic from where he bought the fridge. Aftab’s phone number is different on both bills. For this reason, the police suspected that Aftab was using more than 1 number,” the sources said.
The secretary of a housing society where the accused Aftab Amin Poonawalla and his family resided gave a statement to the Delhi police team earlier on Sunday as part of their ongoing investigation into the horrifying Shraddha murder case.
Official sources claim that the Delhi police team spent more than an hour on Sunday recording the statement of Abdullah Khan, the secretary of the Unique Park Housing Society in the Vasai neighbourhood of the Palghar district.

“The police questioned Khan for more than an hour, and recorded his statement in connection to the Shraddha murder case,” said official sources with Manikpur police.
In the statement, Khan informed the police that Aftab’s family had vacated their house about 20 days ago, and he has rented it out.
He also said that he has no idea about where Aftab’s family went, and also shared their contact number, which was switched off.

According to sources, Delhi police have contacted a large number of persons, including friends and family members of Shraddha and Aftab, in relation to the case and are recording their testimony.
According to them, the accused, Aftab, resided with Shraddha in three separate flats in different parts of Mumbai, including the Kenny Apartment, the Regal Apartment, and the White Hills Apartment.
The Shraddha Murder case, in which Walker’s live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala is accused of strangling her to death and chopping her body into 35 pieces before dumping it in the Chhatarpur neighbourhood of the nation’s capital, is being investigated by a team of Delhi police who have been camped out in the Vasai area of Maharashtra since Friday.
Several others have reportedly been called by Delhi police on the issue, including friends and family of Shraddha and Aftab, and their evidence is being recorded.
They claim that the accused, Aftab, lived with Shraddha in three distinct flats, including the Kenny Apartment, the Regal Apartment, and the White Hills Apartment, located in various areas of Mumbai.
A team from the Delhi police has been camped out in the Vasai region of Maharashtra since Friday to conduct an investigation into the Shraddha Murder case, in which Walker’s live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala is charged with killing her by strangling her and dismembering her body into 35 pieces before dumping it in the Chhatarpur neighbourhood of the nation’s capital.

</excerpt>

A Practicing Lawyer of Delhi has moved a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking transfer of investigation from Delhi Police to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Shraddha murder case.

The plea says that the investigation by Delhi Police cannot be carried out efficiently due to administrative, staff paucity as well as lack of sufficient technical and scientific equipment to find out the evidence and the witness as the incident had taken place about six months back. It also stated that whatever investigation done by Delhi Police has been revealed by media. The presence of media and other public persons at the place of recoveries, court hearings etc. of any accused amounts to their interference with the evidence and witnesses in the present case.

It also stated that the Delhi Police have not sealed the alleged place of the incident to date which is continuously being accessed by the public and media personnel.

Due to faulty investigation, most of the heinous crimes result in the acquittal of the accused since as per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, 2021 only 44 per cent of murder cases result in a conviction, stated the plea.

In the wake of the horrifying Shraddha Walker murder case in the capital, another comparable case involving the severance and disposal of a woman’s body in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has come to light.

The deceased, Aradhana Prajapati, whose body was found in Paschim Patti village in the Ahraula police station of the Azamgarh district, according to the Azamgarh Police, has been identified as the deceased, and Prince Yadav, the primary accused in the case, has been taken into custody.

The family partially confirmed the identity of the deceased when approached by the police, but they were not persuaded because the skull was missing, according to the police statement.

Following this, on November 19, the police detained Prince Yadav, whom they later discovered to be the deceased girl’s ex-boyfriend, according to the police.

According to the police, Prince admitted his involvement in the crime after being questioned. According to the police statement, after taking Prince to the crime scene, the police were able to recover the woman’s head from a pond some six kilometres away from the well after he was positively identified.

According to the police, Prince was apprehended on Sunday after an incident during which he attempted to flee from the location where the police had taken him in order to collect the woman’s missing head. According to the police, Prince’s cousin, Sarvesh Yadav, another suspect in the event, has fled.

According to the authorities, a total of nine people were either directly involved in carrying out the woman’s murder plot or harbouring the criminals.

Anurag Arya, Superintendent of Police in Azamgarh, stated in a statement, “On November 16, the body of an unnamed woman was discovered in a well. The remainder of the body was there, but the head was gone. For the police, it was a dilemma because the crime involved women. Five police teams were assigned to the case to investigate it. Today’s arrest of the defendant took place. Prince Yadav, the main suspect in the case, was detained today following a police encounter. He was wounded by a bullet in his right leg. He had illegal weapons that were recovered.”

The official said that the accused had a relationship with the deceased two years ago. The woman was married in February of this year, when Prince was outside the country. Upon learning about the marriage, the accused returned to the country and plotted to kill the woman.
“After the interrogation, it came to light that he had a relationship with the deceased two years ago. The deceased was married this year in February. He was outside the country then. When he learned about her marriage, he was offended and returned to India. He attempted to threaten the deceased with breaking her marriage and also lured her to stay with him. He was aided by his relatives, which include his maternal side and also his parents. When the woman did not agree, he, along with his parents and cousin named Sarvesh, hatched a plan to kill her and dump her body in such a way that it could not be recovered and he could not be caught,” the police official said.

The deceased’s clothing and other pieces of evidence have been recovered, according to Arya.

“Based on the interrogation, the police have recovered everything. The clothes of the deceased have also been recovered. The wooden log on which the incident took place has been recovered. Evidence collection has been done in the field. There are a total of nine accused, of whom one, Prince Yadav, has been arrested. The other accused, Sarvesh Yadav, who is Prince’s uncle’s son, is absconding. An award of Rs 25,000 has also been announced,” he said.

The other accused in the incident will be arrested soon, the official said.
“There are 7 others who were involved either in the planning of the incident or in harbouring the culprits. They will be arrested soon,” he said.

The matter is currently the subject of more study.

Shraddha Walker, a Maharashtrian woman, was allegedly strangled to death by her live-in partner, Aftab Poonawalla, in another horrifying incident that surfaced earlier this month in the nation’s capital.

The investigation into Shraddha Walker’s fragmented body parts, which are thought to have been scattered across the capital by her killer Aaftab Amin Poonawala, was carried out by Delhi Police authorities on Sunday in the most recent development in the case.

In a major development to the Shraddha murder case, a CCTV video has emerged in which the accused Aaftab Poonawala can be seen carrying a bag during the early hours. It is being suspected that the bag he was carrying were of the remains of Shraddha. The cops are suspecting that he was carrying Walkar’s body parts. In this gruesome murder this is a first such CCTV video that has come to light.

Police are interrogating Poonawala who is accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha over the footage. So far the investigation has revealed that Aaftab had murdered Shraddha on May 18. He chopped her body into 35 pieces and kept them in the fridge. After the murder he disposed off his body parts throughout different locations. A search operation was conducted by police to find the remains of the victim including head. Police have recovered some remains which have now sent to forensics and DNA sample of victim’s father has been collected to match the remains found. The digital devices of both Shraddha and Aftaab have also been sent for “forensic retrieval of data”.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed that the duo used to have frequent fights and that he strangled her to death as she was pressuring him to get married. Aaftab used to work in a call center in Gurugram but was later sacked for his behavioural issues. It has also come to light that in 2020 Shraddha had was assaulted and had filed a police complaint. She also approached some of her friends at that time seeking help.
