REVEALED: Tabu’s First Official Look from ‘Dune: Prophecy’ Series

After offering a brief glimpse of various characters in the teaser for Dune: Prophecy, the creators have now unveiled the first official look at Tabu in the series. Tabu will portray Sister Francesca, a character central to the story.

Set 10,000 years before the events depicted in the recent Dune films, Dune: Prophecy is based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert (the son of original Dune author Frank Herbert) and Kevin J. Anderson. The series will follow two Harkonnen sisters as they face threats to humanity’s future and lay the groundwork for the Bene Gesserit, a key sect in the Dune universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Originally developed as an exclusive for HBO’s streaming service Max, the series will now premiere under the HBO brand, airing on the cable network and streaming on Max as part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s rebranding strategy.

Tabu will share the screen with a stellar cast that includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Johdi May, Travis Fimmel, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Mark Strong, Chloe Lea, Josh Heuston, and Jade Anouka. Co-produced by Max and Legendary Television, the same company behind the Dune film franchise, the series’ release date has not yet been announced.

DOCUMENTARY TITLED ‘DHAROHAR BHARAT KI’ TO BE AIRED TO DOORDARSHAN

In continuation with the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrutkal’ theme, national broadcaster Doordarshan is set to soon launch a two-part series titled “Dharohar Bharat Ki”.

The series will air on April 14-15 will focus on the rich cultural, and historical heritage under the present Modi regime.

People are ‘wrong’ and ‘sensationalists’, says Abhishek Bachchan

With the second season of the hit series Breathe: Into the Shadows, which stars actor Abhishek Bachchan, it is back on Amazon Prime Video.

Meanwhile, the series talks about mental health, after which a few fans were upset about it.

In a recent interview, Abhishek talked about the series and people who criticized the series and said during the prepartion of the script, four-five doctors were involved to address this sensitive issue.

“I completely disagree. People who have said that have no idea what they are talking about. There were four-five doctors that worked on the script. Mayank’s brother-in-law is a psychiatrist who works particularly on this disorder. That is of paramount importance to us, to be sensitive to mental health, especially to people with similar disorders,” Abhishek Bachchan said.

Talking about the issue, Abhishek said, “This is just the part of the story and the character. It wasn’t a show to sensitize people about this and it was never the prime focus. It is extremely unfair. If we have to nitpick, I can find a problem with anything. You have to understand what the intention of the show is.”

Abhishek further added that people who find the series problematic by showing mental health issues are ‘wrong’ and ‘sensationalists’.

Moreover, the series is directed by Mayank Sharma, in which once again Abhishek returns as Dr Avinash Sabharwal, who is suffering from dissociative identity disorder and kills people.

Besides Abhishek Bachchan, the series also stars Amit Sadh and Saiyami Kher.

However, talking about the review done by one of the media organizations says, “The actors do well with what they are given. Amit Sadh is underrated, to say the least, and he is ever-dependent, like Kabir Sawant. Abhishek Bachchan does well to portray the vulnerability and guilt of Avinash but is found lacking while trying to bring out the menace and rage of J. A good element of this season is Avinash’s inner turmoil as he wonders if he is turning more into J and less of himself. Abhishek nailed that dilemma quite well. Nithya Menen and Saiyami Kher have been given too little to work with, which is a shame as they had both been quite good in the previous season. Naveen Kasturia leaves a mark though.”

Actor Tisca Chopra shares the trailer of supernatural thriller series ‘Dahan – Raakan ka Rahasya’

Bollywood actor Tisca Chopra shared the trailer of her upcoming supernatural thriller series ‘Dahan-Raakan ka Rahasya’ on social media.

Taking to Instagram Chopra treated fans with glimpses of her role and wrote, “Ek shraap, ek rahasya, ek anhoni ka dar ..Rahasyamayi Shilaspura mein Mayavi aavego ..#HotstarSpecials #Dahan all episodes streaming from September 16th only on @disneyplushotstar.”

Meanwhile, the series ‘Dahan-Raakan ka Rahasya’ is directed by Vikranth Pawar and written by Nisarg Mehta, Shiva Bajpai, and Nikhil Nair. The series will stream on Disney+Hotstar special.

Talking about the series director Vikranth Pawar said, “With Dahan – Raakan ka Rahasya, we set out to create a show where the audience experiences how mythical and supernatural elements can come together to create fear in people’s minds. Moreover, actor Tisca Chopra who is playing the role of an IAS officer sets out on a mission to battle age-old superstitions in the village. Avani Raut, my character, fights personal and professional battles when she is caught in the crossfire of superstition and the supernatural and resin and practicality on the other. The show puts the character Avani Raut on a quest by drawing parallels between her external and internal fears, which all of us confront. It’s been an absolute delight to bring Dahan and Avani to the audiences. I’m extremely proud to bring this layered grey character on a prestigious platform like Disney+ Hotstar.”
