Sanjay Raut, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), has dismissed speculation that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies would contest the upcoming BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections independently. Raut emphasized the importance of Shiv Sena (UBT) regaining control of the BMC to protect Mumbai and prevent it from being detached from Maharashtra. He pointed to growing tensions between the Marathi community and migrants, suggesting that such issues were part of a broader political strategy.

Raut also warned that if Shiv Sena (UBT) fails to secure the BMC elections, along with 14 other major civic bodies in the state, Mumbai could risk losing its status, with some even speculating that it could be declared a Union Territory under central control.

While clarifying that the party is not planning to go solo in the elections, Raut acknowledged that there is a strong sentiment among party activists for such a move. He stressed that discussions were ongoing and whether the MVA contests together or separately, it does not indicate a breakup of the alliance.

Congress state president Nana Patole responded cautiously, stating that his party would consult its local units before deciding whether to contest independently or as part of MVA in the local body polls.

Raut further criticized the Mahayuti government, accusing them of misrepresenting the votes of 14 crore people. He urged Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to reflect on the situation, noting that not all of those 14 crore votes were cast in their favor.

Raut emphasized the frequency of railway accidents since the Prime Minister Modi-led government took office for its third term, alleging that more than 100 lives have been lost in over 25 major incidents during this period.

“Since Modi government has come into power for the third term and the railway minister has been given the responsibility again, more than 25 major railway accidents have occurred in the country, claiming more than 100 lives,” Raut stated during a press conference.

EC Slams Sanjay Raut’s Baseless President’s Rule Claim

Allegations made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut regarding the potential imposition of President’s Rule in Maharashtra after the upcoming assembly polls are unfounded and reflect a misunderstanding of constitutional provisions, sources from the Maharashtra Chief Electoral Office said on Monday.

The sources informed that the role of the Election Commission is to conduct the elections and submit the list of newly elected MLAs to the Governor within six months of the completion of the Assembly’s term, in accordance with Section 15 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and Article 172(1) of the Constitution.

The Commission will complete this process before November 26, 2024, with the counting of votes set to conclude on November 23. Once the list of newly-elected MLAs is submitted, the Governor can invite the formation of the government, as per his constitutional mandate outlined in Article 164. This process is not restricted by the Assembly’s term expiration on November 26, which is relevant only for the completion of the election process, according to the sources.

On Sunday, Raut had alleged that the BJP fears defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections, as the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is confident of forming the next government. “This is why the Election Commission has allowed only a few days for the government formation after the poll results,” he claimed.

Maharashtra is scheduled to vote on November 20, with the results set to be declared on November 23.

Sanjay Raut Demands Public Release Of Chandiwal Commission Report

Amid the ongoing feud between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and NCP (SCP) leader Anil Deshmukh, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday criticized Fadnavis and demanded the public release of the Chandiwal Commission report.

Speaking at a press conference, Raut highlighted the issues surrounding the Lok Sabha elections and criticized Fadnavis for relying on individuals accused of serious crimes. He stressed that Maharashtra no longer takes Fadnavis’s statements seriously and accused him of being caught in a “chakravyuh” (complex situation). Raut insisted that the Maharashtra government is making excuses to avoid disclosing the Chandiwal Commission report, which he claims contains explosive information.

Raut pointed out that the report, submitted after an 11-month inquiry, spans 1400 pages and should be made public immediately. He accused Fadnavis of trying to distract from the report’s findings by breaking Shiv Sena MLAs and causing the government to fall.

Earlier, Anil Deshmukh had also called for the release of the report, accusing Fadnavis of using Parambir Singh to falsely implicate him in a corruption case to topple the government. Deshmukh claimed that Singh, to avoid arrest, accused him under Fadnavis’s direction.

The Chandiwal Commission was established to investigate allegations by former Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh, who claimed Deshmukh instructed police officials to collect Rs 100 crore per month from bar owners. Sachin Waze, a dismissed Mumbai Assistant Police Inspector and an accused in the 2021 Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiren murder case, also alleged that Deshmukh took bribes.

Deshmukh, arrested in 2021 in a money laundering case, spent several months in jail. The CBI had filed a corruption case against him, following allegations that he directed police officials to collect monthly bribes from bar owners. Deshmukh has since secured bail.

In a sharp critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut accused the party of disregarding democracy, press freedom, and freedom of expression. Raut asserted that hooliganism characterizes the BJP’s approach to governance.

“Democracy, press freedom, and freedom of expression are meaningless to the BJP government. Maharashtra, currently under BJP rule, is suffering from a lack of effective policing and intelligence. Historically, Maharashtra was known for its law and order, but since Modi Ji’s tenure began ten years ago, the situation has deteriorated. Uddhav Ji made significant efforts to curb anti-social elements, but now hooliganism seems to define the BJP’s modus operandi. Maharashtra is now being controlled from Delhi, and we are paying dearly for it,” Raut stated.

Raut also criticized the BJP government for the poor state of infrastructure, citing several examples of its shortcomings.

“The new parliament premises turned into a swimming pool just two days ago. The old parliament building could have served for another century. The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is leaking, and airports are deteriorating due to the rain. Tragically, three students in Delhi lost their lives. What is the administration doing? There’s water everywhere,” Raut remarked.

He commended Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP, for his efforts to protect democracy, noting that Gandhi’s actions have caused significant distress among BJP leaders. Raut accused the BJP of conspiring against Gandhi, suggesting that further actions against him could be forthcoming.

“Rahul Gandhi is working tirelessly to preserve the democratic framework of our country, which has made BJP leaders increasingly anxious. His efforts have kept them awake at night, prompting them to plot against him, even from abroad.”

Earlier on Friday, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) was planning a raid on him following his ‘Chakravtyuh’ speech in Parliament on July 29.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Raut stated, “Now the biggest challenge is for Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, who consider themselves worshippers and servants of democracy. With the government formed with their support, it is their responsibility to save the Constitution, law, and democracy.”

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu on Friday to stake his claim to form the government following a meeting of NDA leaders who elected him as their leader.

Addressing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations regarding the stock market, Raut commented on the market’s volatility. “The way the share market was shaken is unnatural,” he said, alleging that influential businessmen and politicians allied with PM Modi manipulated the market for personal gain. “These businessmen from Gujarat are running the country, and their old connection with the share market means this will keep happening, and the country will be looted.”

Rahul Gandhi had previously claimed that the stock market’s behaviour around the election period was suspicious, with significant rises and falls coinciding with comments from senior government officials. Launching a scathing attack on Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut labelled Fadnavis’ urge to relieve him from ministerial duties as a ‘gimmick’ and blamed him for BJP’s abysmal performance in Maharashtra.
He further claimed that the INDIA alliance can also form government in the centre upon arrival of right time.

Speaking about the Devendra Fadnavis resignation request, Raut said, “This is all gimmick which is very common in politics. Even Prime Minister Modi does the drama, sometimes he laughs and in other moments he is sad. Fadnavis is his student, doing the same drama.”
Blaming him for the BJP’s massive defeat in Maharashtra, he said, “Devendra Fadnavis is the villain of Maharashtra’s politics and the public of the state has denied his leadership. He is responsible for running the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state.

“Maharashtra has always been the state advocating for clean and diplomatic politics but Fadnavis brought cheap tactics and a culture of deceit which is the reason behind their defeat, he added.”

He further expressed his feelings on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said, “I have a major feeling that some people are trying to sideline Yogi Ji. We have always respected Baba Ji but it is a matter of his party.”

On speculations of RSS supporting the future NDA government, Raut asserted, “I don’t feel RSS will support Modi-Shah government, as they have been side-lining RSS since their rule.”
On questions of RSS seeking Nitin Gadkari or Ranjath Singh as an alternative, Raut iterated, “Wait and watch! I won’t say that the picture is yet not finished, instead, I’ll say the picture has just been initiated and there are a lot of things that will take place.”

Tackling the question of sitting as opposition, Raut mentioned, “This time public has mandated us to remove Modi Ji from the post of PM and establish INDIA alliance’s government. We will take the necessary actions into this matter when we’ll the right time has arrived.”

He further added, “Modi Ji’s government will not get re-established and somehow if it happens, then it won’t last for long.”

He also presented his views on the seat-sharing arrangements of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.

Addressing the media persons about the INDIA alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, Raut said, “Don’t you think Shiv Sena (UBT) has played a major role in the increase of Congress’ votes? Not just Congress, but also Sharad Pawar’s NCP(SP).

“The increase in vote share of Congress and NCP (SP) was only possible due to the efforts of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Uddhav Thackeray. Would anyone have got seats if Shiv Sena (UBT) and Uddhav Thackeray hadn’t actively prepared and campaigned over the state? We have actively campaigned, especially in Baramati, Vidarbha and Ramtek. I myself have taken six rallies in Baramati.”

“There will be no dissonance in Maha Vikas Aghadi in terms of seat sharing in upcoming assembly elections and together we will work strongly to defeat Modi,” he added.

“Baramati, long considered a stronghold of the Pawar family, saw Supriya Sule of the NCP Sharad Pawar faction win the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. She secured victory with a substantial margin of 158,333 votes, defeating Sunetra Pawar of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction.

Earlier, in a press conference on Wednesday, Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena leader aligned with Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s faction, praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and expressed the party’s support for his potential Prime Ministership. Raut stated, ‘If Rahul Gandhi is willing to lead, we see no reason to object. He has demonstrated his leadership on multiple occasions and is widely respected. We fully support him.’

In Maharashtra, the BJP-led NDA alliance secured only 17 seats, while the INDIA alliance clinched a significant 30 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The election results, announced on Tuesday by the Election Commission of India, revealed the BJP’s win of 240 seats, a notable decrease from its 2019 tally of 303. Meanwhile, the Congress displayed significant growth, winning 99 seats. The emergence of the INDIA bloc, surpassing 230 seats, presented formidable competition, defying earlier predictions.”

Patra Chawl Redevelopment Case: ED Seizes Properties Worth Rs 73.62 Cr Assets

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized properties valued at Rs 73.62 crore in the Patra Chawl redevelopment case linked to Pravin Raut, who is allegedly close to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, the agency announced on Wednesday. These properties, located in Mumbai’s Palghar, Dapoli, Raigad, and Thane areas, were attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The case involves irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl Project in Goregaon by Guru Ashish Construction Pvt Ltd (GACPL). The ED’s investigation revealed financial misconduct by GACPL, which was entrusted with rehabilitating 672 tenants. Instead, the company fraudulently sold Floor Space Index (FSI) to nine developers for approximately Rs 901.79 crore without fulfilling its obligations.

Pravin Raut, a director of GACPL, diverted Rs 95 crore of the proceeds to personal bank accounts, used some for purchasing land, gifted properties to family members, and parked some with associates.

Earlier, assets worth Rs 11.15 crore belonging to Pravin Raut and Sanjay Raut were seized, along with properties in Goa valued at Rs 31.50 crore owned by Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan and Sarang Wadhawan. In total, the ED has attached immovable properties worth Rs. 116.27 crore in this case.

Pravin Raut and Sanjay Raut were arrested under PMLA in February and August 2022 respectively, but are currently out on bail. The ED has filed a Prosecution Complaint against Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan, Sarang Wadhawan, Pravin Raut, and Guru Ashish Construction Pvt Ltd, with a supplementary complaint against Sanjay Raut, all of which have been acknowledged by the Special PMLA Court.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Shiv Sena releases list of 17 candidates

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut unveiled the party’s initial roster of 17 contenders for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. Among them, Anil Desai is set to vie for the Mumbai South Central parliamentary constituency.

Raut mentioned that the Uddhav Thackeray-led party intends to compete for a total of 22 seats in the upcoming general elections, with the announcement of the remaining five candidates expected within the next day or two. Additionally, Raut noted that farmers’ leader Raju Shetti has sought the support of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Hatkanangale.

Out of the names disclosed on Wednesday, 11 had previously been revealed by party chief Uddhav Thackeray during his visits to the respective Lok Sabha constituencies last month.

The party has also reaffirmed the candidacy of all five incumbent MPs. Arvind Sawant, the sitting MP, will stand for election from the Mumbai South constituency, Sanjay Patil from Mumbai North East, and Amol Kirtikar from Mumbai North West. Rajan Vichare will contest from Thane, while Vinayak Raut has been nominated for Ratnagiri Sindhudurg. Additionally, sitting MPs Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani) and Omraje Nimbalkar (Osmanabad) have been renominated.

Shiv Sena will also be vying for the Aurangabad seat, with former MP Chandrakant Khaire being fielded.

Notably, wrestler Chandrahar Patil has been nominated for Sangli, a seat that the Congress, a member of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, had been pushing for.

While the Congress has announced its candidates for some seats where there is no conflict with its alliance partners, the official declaration of candidates by another MVA constituent, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), is still pending for the Lok Sabha polls in April-May.

Maharashtra, with its 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second highest after Uttar Pradesh (80), is scheduled to vote in five phases starting from April 19.

The suspense over the candidate for the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, currently represented by MP Shrikant Shinde, persists. The party’s decision to nominate former MP Chandrakant Khaire has drawn attention to Ambadas Danve, the leader of Opposition in the legislative council, who was anticipating a party ticket. Speculation had arisen about Danve potentially joining the BJP or Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s party. However, Danve refuted such claims in local media, affirming his loyalty to Uddhav Thackeray.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, “Yesterday’s terrorist attack in Poonch is a repeat of the Pulwama attack. The govt is sleeping. Do you(BJP) again want to do politics on the sacrifice by our jawans? Do you want to seek votes again in 2024 as you did in 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack? If we ask questions about the Poonch incident, then they will throw us out of Delhi or the country.”
Sanjay Raut further said that miscreants intruded into the Parliament but the government had no knowledge about it.

“The government is celebrating the abrogation of Article 370 and see what has happened. This is a serious issue. In the last two months just see how many soldiers have been killed. They don’t allow the Parliament to function. When we questioned Parliament’s intrusion they removed us from Parliament. If we question on Poonch attack they will throw us out of country,” he added.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah said that terrorism has not ended in the Union Territory hours after four army soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Thanamandi area in the Rajouri sector on Thursday.
Speaking to ANI on Thursday in Srinagar about the latest terror attack, the National Conference President said,”…Even today there is terrorism in J&K, there has just been an incident. Terrorism has not ended. They (Central government) are only talking about boosting tourism in Kashmir. Even if one tourist gets shot, no one will come here.”

Sanjay Raut slams govt over tragic road accident: “Samruddhi Mahamarg was not built for the people but…”

Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), responded to the unfortunate road accident that left twelve dead and approximately seventeen injured by saying that the Bharatiya Janta Party had stolen money from the contractors building Samruddhi Mahamarg in an attempt to destroy the Shiv Sena. Raut said at the press conference, “The government is not accepting responsibility. Samruddhi Mahamarg was not intended for human habitation. However, the government was receiving a commission from the contractors, so it was built for them. Big contractors are the source of the 50-50 crores that were given to Shiv Sena MLAs in an attempt to break up the party. Together, Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and the BJP are responsible for the Samruddhi Mahamarg scam. People are dying on that road because of this.

Sanjay Raut further said that the concerned Minister should be asked what was he doing for 6 months and the government should ask for his resignation.
The accident occurred when a tempo collided with a truck on the Aurangabad-Nasik highway, near Vaijapur toll naka at around 1:00 AM.
According to the police, the tempo was carrying a group of pilgrims from Nashik to Baba Teerth pilgrimage site in Aurangabad. The accident occurred when the tempo was returning to Nashik after the darshan.
The police said that the driver of the tempo sustained injuries in the accident. He told the police that the truck was coming from the opposite direction and collided with the tempo head-on.
The injured were rushed to hospitals in Aurangabad and Vaijapur. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.

Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), criticized Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday for the state’s rainfall conditions, which have led to waterlogging and flooding in several areas of Maharashtra. Raut claimed that the chief minister was oblivious to the problems that the state’s residents were experiencing as a result of the floods. He also criticized Shinde for taking part in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.

“The whole of Nagpur is flooded; parts of Maharashtra are facing drought; why did the CM not visit those areas? Despite visiting flood-affected areas he is busy celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with Bollywood and Tollywood celebrities?,” Raut asserted while speaking at a media conference.
Further slamming Shinde for going on a foreign trip, Raut said, “What investment are you going to bring to the state? First, bring back the investment that has gone from Maharashtra to Gujarat.”

Sanjay Raut : Centre does not want TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee to attend INDIA bloc meeting

Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee will not attend the first meeting of the Opposition INDIA bloc’s Coordination Committee on Wednesday because the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI do not want him to, according to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.

“Today we will go to the meeting. The agenda decided in the Mumbai meeting will be discussed. Everybody is going to attend the meeting except Trinamool Congress. TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee is a member of this committee, he is not attending this meeting because ED and the BJP don’t want him to. The central government does not want Abhishek Banerjee to reach Delhi and participate in the coordination committee meeting of INDIA,” Raut said.
The TMC leader was summoned by the ED for questioning in the school recruitment scam in West Bengal and was seen arriving at the agency’s office in Kolkata this morning.
“He got summoned by the ED today. We will keep his seat vacant and give a message about how the central agencies are torturing the members of INDIA,” Raut said.

Banerjee is allegedly the company’s CEO, according to the ED. The Trinamool leader responded to the ED’s notice by stating that it required him to appear before the organization on September 13, the same day that the Opposition INDIA bloc’s coordination committee is scheduled to meet in Delhi.

VK Singh, a former Indian Army chief, predicted on Tuesday that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would join with India on its own. Singh was responding to a query on Shia Muslim demands for the reopening of the Kargil border crossing with India.

“PoK will merge with India on its own, wait for some time,” Singh said at a press conference in Rajasthan’s Dausa during BJ’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra programme. PoK is separated into two regions: Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. According to the BBC, the population of PoK is roughly 4.5 million people. 97% are Muslims, with 3% belonging to other minorities such as Hindus and Christians.

In response to Singh’s remarks, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut stated that if the PoK joins India, the move will be applauded.

“We have always dreamed that there be an ‘Akhand Bharat’. We always say that PoK is ours. But when the former Army chief was holding the post, he should have tried then to make it ours. How can you do it now?” Raut told reporters.

Taking jibe at the Central government related to Manipur Raut further said, “We will welcome it if any effort is made towards that but before that, make Manipur peaceful.”

He went on to say that China has reached Manipur, Ladakh, and Arunachal Pradesh, and he begged the administration to put a stop to it first. Raut said that China had arrived in Manipur, and that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had claimed that China had entered Ladakh and “taken our land.”

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Sambit Patra on Thursday came down heavily on the opposition INDIA bloc, alleging them to be involved in scams worth crores of Rupees.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s national headquarters in Delhi, Sambit Patra said, “You all know that GM (Ghamindia meeting) is taking place in Mumbai. These parties have done scams and corruption worth Rs 20 lakh crores”.
“It’s a selfish alliance…Their agenda is maximum profit from corruption…”, Patra alleged.
The BJP leader termed the gathering of opposition leaders in Mumbai as one amounting to “musical chairs”.”There is a game of musical chairs on between the alliance partners. This kind of alliance was formed earlier as well but by the time the elections came they started fighting amongst themselves,” said Patra.

Sanjay Raut : “Misuse of Election Commission and all Central agencies is happening”

On Thursday, Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), leveled a serious charge against the BJP-led federal government, alleging that “Misuse of the Election Commission and all Central agencies is happening.” He claimed that Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), had claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) made decisions regarding who joins which parties and who is appointed as a minister.

“Misuse of Election Commission and all Central agencies is happening. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said that the ED decides who joins which party and it also decides who becomes a minister. This is a very serious statement by Pawar Sahab…” he said.
The Raja Sabha MP also questioned the election commission for alloting the Shiv Sena symbol to the rebel faction led by Eknath Shinde and claimed that a simmilar thing was happening with the NCP. “Sharad Pawar formed the Party and despite that you are giving party to Ajit Pawar , Balasahab Thackarey’s party,Uddhav Thackeray is there but they are giving the symbol to Shinde what kind of justice is this”? Raut said.

Since the start of the monsoon session of Parliament, opposition members of the anti-BJP coalition have been trying to call Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attention to the ongoing violence in Manipur and have asked the PM to make a statement on Manipur, according to Sanjay Raut, leader of the Uddhav Thackery faction and Rajya Sabha MP.

Raut said that PM Modi should make a statement on Manipur, which according to him, is “burning and its fire could spread to other states as well”. “For the past eight days, the parties in Parliament are trying to garner the attention of PM Modi on the Manipur issue. PM Modi should speak about it. It is not a state’s issue but an entire country’s. Manipur is burning, people are dying and Manipur’s fire is spreading to other states as well.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned until 2 p.m. on Thursday due to disruptions caused by opposition members’ requests regarding the Manipur situation. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice, once until noon and once until two o’clock, while the Lok Sabha was adjourned shortly after it began meeting for the day.

Noisy scenes were present in Rajya Sabha almost from the beginning of the proceedings. Members of the opposition parties shouted demands related to the Manipur situation, including those covered by Rule 287. Many of the opposition’s members were dressed in black.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who made a statement on ‘Latest Developments in Foreign Policy’, faced constant interruptions as opposition members raised slogans.
The ruling party members also countered them by raising “Modi, Modi” slogans briefly.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that the decade belongs to India and the rise of the country is unstoppable. Dhankhar referred to his visits abroad as Deputy Chairman and said it is a great honour to be a citizen of India.

BJP’s defeat in Karnataka shows that the ‘Modi wave’ is coming to an end, while the ‘opposition’s wave’ is sweeping the country, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut predicted on Sunday, a day after the Congress defeated the BJP in the southern state.

According to reports, the Maharashtra politician stated that “The Modi wave is over and now our wave is coming across the country. Delhi HC summons Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut in defamation case

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued summons to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his son Aditya Thackeray, and senior party leader Sanjay Raut in a defamation case brought by Eknath Shinde faction leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Rahul Ramesh Shewale.

Rahul Shewale, the plaintiff, claims that Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, and Sanjay Raut made baseless accusations of corruption against the Shiv Sena and its members.

Raut along with Thackeray camp alleged that Eknath Shinde faction bought the Shiv Sena symbol for Rs 2000 crore.

The Justice Prateek Jalan Bench heard the defamation case brought by Rahul Shewale against the three leaders.

After hearing Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, who appeared for the plaintiff, the Court admitted the suit and issued summons to Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thackeray, and Aditya Thackeray, directing them to answer all material questions. The Court has also directed defendants to file responses to interim applications.

While the plaintiff’s lawyer sought a court direction to pass an injunction order to restrain Raut and others from making any further defamatory allegations, the Court said that an order would be passed only after having heard the responses of the parties.

The matter is now posted for hearing under interim relief on 17 April, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Court observed that, as far as the institutions are concerned, the Election Commission’s shoulders are broad enough to deal with all this. Like the courts, people say all kinds of things about them.

Sanjay Raut: “Like China, We Will Enter Karnataka”

In an ongoing tension between Karnataka and Maharashtra over the border issue, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, “We will enter Karnataka like China has entered the country.”

The statement sparked controversy. He said, “Like China has entered, we will enter (Karnataka). We don’t need anyone’s permission. We want to solve it through a discussion but Karnataka CM is igniting a fire. There is a weak government in Maharashtra and is not taking any stand on it.”

Sanjay Raut, an MP for the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, said on Saturday that this nation is Jawaharlal Nehru’s land, a day after he warned of a breach in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance over Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about Veer Savarkar.

Speaking to the media, Raut asserted that the nation as a whole respected the leaders of independence.

“Veer Savarkar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Mahatma Gandhi—all those who sacrificed their happiness in the freedom struggle for this country—the whole country has respect and faith for them,” Raut said.

He further said that former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had done a lot for the country, and it is his land.
“Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru made a lot of contributions towards the development of the country. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have taken much time for the country to become like Pakistan. The country is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s land,” Raut added.

Raut had forewarned Congress of a split in the MVA, which also includes the Uddhav-Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), on Friday.

“We consider Veer Savarkar a revered figure,” Raut said.
Earlier, addressing a press conference in Maharashtra on the sidelines of his ongoing ‘Bhaat Jodo Yatra’, on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi, reading from a letter purportedly written by Savarkar to the British, claimed the saffron ideologue betrayed leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by signing a letter of apology to the British before independence.
“Veer Savarkar wrote to the British saying, ‘Sir, I beg to remain your most obedient servant’, and signed it. Savarkar helped the British. He betrayed leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Patel by signing this letter out of fear.”
Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi on Friday, Raut said, “The country is heading towards dictatorship, and there’s inflation, unemployment, and atrocities against women.” The “Bharat Jodo Yatra” is meant to highlight all these issues. The maximum support for the yatra has been received from Maharashtra. So, there was no need to raise the topic of Veer Savarkar. “Even Congress leaders in Maharashtra don’t appreciate it (Rahul’s remarks on Savarkar).”

The BJP expressed fury over the comment, with Sambit Patra, the party’s national spokesperson, alleging that it was similar to the Congress’ custom of disparaging national figures like Subhas Chandra Bose and Sardar Patel.

The BJP leader called Rahul Gandhi’s statement “deplorable” and urged that he offer an unreserved apology.

Following a significant outcry, a complaint was filed against Rahul Gandhi at the Thane Nagar police station in response to his remarks on Thursday.

According to the complaint, Gandhi’s statements had wounded the residents’ feelings. Under IPC sections 500 and 501, a case of non-cognizable offence was filed against the Congress MP.

Shiv Sena MP Raut condemns TMC minister Akhil Giri’s remarks over President

Over West Bengal TMC leader Akhil Giri’s remarks against the President Droupadi Murmu Rajya Sabha member and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday lashed him.

Shiv Sena’s leader said such a statement against the Prime Minister or the President of India will not be tolerated by his party.

Talking to the media Shiv Sena MP Raut said, “We must respect the constitutional post of the President of India.”

Meanwhile, on Friday objectionable remarks were made against the President of India by TMC leader Akhil Giri.

While hitting out at Suvendu Adhikari Giri said, “He (Suvendu Adhikari) says I am not good-looking. How beautiful you are! We don’t judge anyone by their appearance, we respect the office of the President of India. But how does our President look?”

“We (Shiv Sena) will not tolerate any kind of such statement on the PM or president. One must respect both,” Raut said.

Moreover, MP Gajanan Kirtikar joined the Shinde faction on which Raut reacted and said, “If he (Gajanan Kritikar) says the direction of (Shinde) is right, then let’s wait for the election. It’s the people who will decide whose direction is right,”

Sanjay Raut meets Uddhav Thackrey, a day after his release from jail

A day after the release from jail, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met his party chief Uddhav Thackeray. Raut reached party chief’s private residence in Mumbai on Thursday.

After the meet, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray spoke to media outside his residence and said that Raut’s aggression will be the same as it was before. “We are really happy to have Sanjay back. He is not only a leader or an MP of the party, but he is my special friend, and his return will boost the voice of our party. Raut was silent for some time, but now he has come out and he is going to roar again,” said Thackeray.

In connection with the Patra Chawl money laundering case, Raut was arrested by the enforcement directorate (ED). However he was granted bail by a special court in Mumbai on Wednesday his release is considered a relief for the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance before the municipal elections.

On the release, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackrey stated that the courts order has proves that the central government uses the agencies against opposition and that the judiciary is the only hope that is left in the country.

“This is very clear that the government agencies like ED were being used to break the opposition parties and its leaders.Sanjay has shown us how to fight without letting his self-respect down.” said Thackrey.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut granted bail in money laundering case

Shiv sena leader Sanjay Raut has been granted bail by a special PMLA court in Mumbai in money laundering case related to the Patra Chawl redevelopment project. The court has rejected the plea by Enforcement Directorate (ED) against the bail. The court has also granted bail to Raut’s co-accused Pravin Raut. A bail bond of Rs 2 lakh has been imposed by the court for each.

Earlier, additional solicitor general Anil Singh appearing for ED had sought a stay on the execution of bail order for a while so that ED could prepare certain grounds to appeal in the higher court. However, the court rejected ED’s plea to seek a stay. The defence while opposing the plea, said that the session court does not have the power to stay the order.

Sena leader Raut was arrested by ED in a money laundering case connected to Goregaon’s Patra Chawl redevelopment project and his is in the custody in Arthur Road prison.

Patra Chawl Case: Sena’s MP Sanjay Raut sent to judicial custody till August 22

Shiv Sena leader Raut sent to ED custody till August 4

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut Monday has been sent to Enforcement Directorate’s custody till August 4.

Earlier in the day, in connection with the Patra Chawl case, ED produced Raut before a special sessions court after his arrest.

Moreover, Raut was taken for a medical test at the JJ hospital before being produced before the court.

Earlier on Sunday, the ED reached Raut’s house in Bhandup at 7 am and searched his house for about 9 hours. After which Raut was detained and in the early hours on Monday Raut was arrested. The ED had conducted this raid in connection with the money laundering case related to the Patra Chal scam.

“Sanjay Raut has been arrested. BJP is afraid of him and got him arrested. They haven’t given us any documents (regarding his arrest). He has been framed,” Sanjay Raut’s brother said on Sunday.

Speaking to a media person Sanjay Raut said “I have nothing to do with any scam. I am saying this by taking the oath of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb taught us how to fight. I will continue to fight for Shiv Sena.”

Meanwhile, a case has also been registered against Raut for threatening Swapna Patkar, wife of his aide Sujit Patkar. A case has been registered against Raut under sections 504, 506, and 509 at Vakola police station. An audio clip of Swapna had gone viral, in which Raut was allegedly heard threatening her.

The troubles of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut are increasing continuously. Raut is badly trapped in the Patra Chawl scam of Mumbai. After 16 hours of interrogation, the ED arrested Raut on Sunday night.

Swapna Patkar is a witness in Patra Chawl land scam. The ED had taken Raut into custody in the same case on Sunday after raiding his house for 9 hours. Raut’s brother Sunil Raut then claimed that his brother had been arrested.

Moreover, the ED is likely to produce Raut in court today and seek his custody for interrogation. Sunil Raut also claimed that the ED will produce Sanjay Raut in court on Monday. On the other hand, Rs 11.50 lakh has been seized from Raut’s house.

At the same time, ED found Rs 11.50 lakh in cash from Sanjay Raut’s house, which has been confiscated by the ED. Moreover, Sanjay Raut also spoke to the media and said “I have nothing to do with any scam. I am saying this by taking the oath of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb taught us how to fight. I will continue to fight for Shiv Sena.”
