‘We’re All Human’: Aamir Khan Admits He Misjudged Salman Khan

Aamir Khan recently shared a heartfelt story about how his friendship with Salman Khan truly began—not on the sets of Andaz Apna Apna as many might think, but during one of the most emotionally difficult periods of his life.

Speaking to The Lallantop, Aamir said he became close to Salman only after his separation from his first wife Reena Dutta in 2001. He described those days as a time filled with loneliness and emotional pain, where he would drink heavily and avoid social contact.

“I used to sit alone and not meet anyone back then. Like Juhi (Chawla) visited me, Salman Khan also paid a visit. I don’t remember how it happened, but he came to my home for a meal. We chatted for hours. I had a heart-to-heart conversation with him since I was going through depression then. He also shared a lot with me. That’s when we began bonding as friends,” Aamir said.

From Misunderstanding to Lifelong Bond

Aamir admitted he wasn’t always fond of Salman Khan. Back in 1994, when they worked together in Andaz Apna Apna, Aamir was annoyed with Salman’s constant late arrivals.

“He used to never come to set on time and things wouldn’t go as planned. So I thought maybe we can’t be friends,” Aamir recalled. But he later realized he had been too harsh in his judgment. “When I met him in 2001-02 and we got chatting, that’s when I realized we’re all humans and make mistakes… one shouldn’t be so judgemental.”

Talking about comparisons among the three Khans, Aamir explained, “The comparison is legit. It happens in every field, whether it’s cricket or films. People at the top are often compared to each other. I get why that happens.”

Aamir also shared a funny moment about how fans rarely gather outside his home unlike at Salman’s or Shah Rukh Khan’s residences. “One day, I saw a crowd outside the building and thought finally, a crowd has come to see me… before I learnt they were there for Tiger Shroff,” he said, laughing.

‘I love to do challenging roles now’: Darsheel Safary on Gamerlog

Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ fame child actor Darsheel Safary, now 28, is all set to begin a new journey in the world of acting with more ‘challenging roles’ to shine not only at the silver screen but also on the OTT.

“I have been also into the theaters for around 8-9 years where I had learned all the nitty-gritty of the acting,” Darsheel said in conversation with The Daily Guardian newspaper, adding that “I learned the craft to that level that I can easily now crawl into the skin of any role like I did in the Gamerlog’s protagonist Raghu. At this juncture, I love to do challenging roles. ”

He did not overrule the possibility of opting the ‘method acting’ if role demands.

On how being typecast in the industry for his image on the ‘Taare Zameen Par’ movie, he said “I want to blur out that image of mine. Being typecast is not good for any actor.”

Asking whether there is season 2 of the Gamerlog series in the offing, she said that it has been ended on the cliffhanger so the possibility of the season 2 cannot be ruled out.

Security Breach at Salman Khan’s Mumbai Residence: Man and Woman Taken Into Custody

Mumbai Police arrested a man and a woman this week for attempting to illegally access Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra (West). The incidents occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, raising concerns over the actor’s safety, especially given his recent history of security threats.

The man, Jitendra Kumar Singh (23), hails from Chhattisgarh, and the woman, Isha Chhabra (32), also attempted to breach the security at the apartment complex, the police confirmed on Thursday.

Singh Tried to Enter in Another Resident’s Vehicle

On Tuesday morning around 9:45 am, police personnel noticed Singh loitering near Salman Khan’s house. When a security officer asked him to leave, Singh reportedly smashed his phone in frustration.

Later that evening, Singh returned and managed to enter the apartment complex in a vehicle belonging to a resident of Galaxy Apartments, though how he accessed it remains unclear. However, police personnel intercepted him and handed him over to the Bandra police.

“During the course of interrogation, Singh said he wanted to meet the actor. He claimed that he tried to sneak in as the police were not allowing him to enter the building,” said an officer.

Second Intrusion Attempt by a Woman the Next Day

Just hours after the first incident, on Wednesday around 3:30 am, Isha Chhabra attempted a similar breach. She reportedly reached as far as the lift area of the building before being stopped. Authorities arrested her and filed trespassing charges against both accused individuals.

Heightened Security at Galaxy Apartments After Previous Threats

The latest security scare follows a serious incident on April 14, 2023, when two men on a motorcycle, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, opened fire outside Khan’s residence. The gang had previously threatened the actor, citing the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which deeply offended the Bishnoi community.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had declared Salman Khan as the top target on a list of 10 people the gang planned to eliminate.

As a result, Khan was granted Y-plus security cover, and he also undertook significant security renovations at his residence to enhance protection.

Months after the April shooting, the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique by the Bishnoi gang prompted police to further tighten security around Khan’s home. Siddique was a close friend of the actor, who visited him at his house and hospital following the attack.

On Monday morning, it was reported that the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline in Mumbai received a threat message saying that they would kill the actor after breaking into his residence and blow up his vehicle with a bomb. Mumbai Police have filed a complaint and are currently investigating it.

Several news channels on Monday morning informed that Salman Khan had been issued a new threat to his life by an anonymous individual. In the text message, which was sent on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police helpline, the actor was threatened with being killed in his home. The actor lives with his family in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai. Last year, shots were fired at Salman’s house by shooters associated with the Bishnoi gang, following which the actor’s security was beefed up. This is the fifth time the actor has received a threat to his life in the last two years.

Mumbai Police has apparently filed a complaint against unidentified individuals regarding the new death threat. According to sources, the police are now attempting to track the source of the threatening message.

Nevertheless, the production company Nadiadwala Grandson said the film crossed the ₹200 crore mark by day 9.

We’re grateful for the love,” was the caption of the post. Fans were overjoyed the movie had crossed the ₹200 crore mark in 10 days.

Sacnilk’s numbers report the movie made ₹1.75 crore net in India on Monday. Which were divided into two part earning ₹104.25 crore net and ₹123.65 crore gross in India. This puts the total worldwide earnings at ₹171.65 crore in nine days. The movie is doing better than Salman Khan‘s last release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which had earned ₹158 crore worldwide in nine days. But his previous movie, Tiger 3, had earned ₹384.45 crore in nine days.

Sikandar is one of the top-grossing Indian films of this year, yet it is challenged by Sankranthiki Vasthunam ( ₹255.2 crore), L2 Empuraan (more than ₹257 crore), and Chhaava (more than ₹800 crore). It is likely to overtake Sankranthiki Vasthunam and become the third-highest-grossing film shortly.

Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Leaked Online; Authorities Remove Pirated Copies from 600 Sites

Piracy had it again with Salman Khan’s eagerly awaited Eid release, Sikandar, getting leaked on the internet merely a few hours ahead of its cinematic release. Originally scheduled for a Sunday cinema release, word comes that the movie was illicitly uploaded during the late night of Saturday. Law enforcement officers immediately acted and pulled the pirated version down from several sites.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta verified the leak on Sunday morning and described it as a huge setback for the makers. “It’s the worst nightmare for any producer. A film leaking prior to its release in theatres. Sadly, that’s what happened last night to Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sikandar, which was scheduled to release today in theatres.”

Nahta also disclosed that the pirated copies of the movie were taken down from 600 websites by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the production house of the movie. “The producer had the authorities take down the film from 600 sites last night, but the damage was done. The multiplication went on and is still going on. Condemnable act which will cost the producer of the Salman starrer dear,” he added.

At present, there is no information on how the leak took place or from where it was leaked. Reports indicate that the makers of the film have gone to the police, and an investigation is being conducted.

Sikandar’s Advance Booking Performance

Even though it is Salman’s Eid release in two years, Sikandar did not achieve any advance booking records. The movie made around ₹10 crore in advance bookings for its first day, more than Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan but less than Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava. Still, industry people think that strong spot bookings and Sunday release may improve its overall box office performance.

The actor shared the bold new look on his Instagram, where he appears intense, holding a sword, with green and red tones in the background. Along with the poster, Salman captioned, “Sikandar on Eid #SajidNadiadwala’s #Sikandar Directed by @a.r.murugadoss.”

The film is directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, marking Salman Khan’s reunion with Sajid after their successful 2014 film, Kick. Sikandar will be Salman Khan’s return to the big screen after more than a year, following his role in Tiger 3.

In May 2024, the production house officially announced Rashmika Mandanna’s role in the film, writing, “Welcoming the fabulous @rashmika_mandanna to star opposite @beingsalmankhan in #Sikandar! News from ‘Mid Day’ informs that Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have already flown to Saudi Arabia for the shoot. Their scripts are to be set in grand preparations for them in a manner that will create a strong, imposing impression in world cinema.

“They will have cameos in the film, which were originally on the cards from day one to lend the movie global appeal,” the insider added.

According to reports, their presence will rake in a lot of eyeballs, given that both of them enjoy a massive fan following in the Middle East.

India’s celebrity scene is currently booming, with stars earning enormous amounts through their careers, endorsements, and social media. But when it comes to taxes, one name stands out as the biggest taxpayer of 2024. Any guesses? Here’s a clue: his fans call him the King.

No, it’s not Virat Kohli. It’s the Baadshah of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan. According to a list from Fortune India featuring celebrity taxpayers for the financial year 2024, SRK tops the chart, paying an impressive Rs 92 crore in taxes.

Following closely behind, Tamil superstar Vijay (Thalapathy) secured the second spot, contributing Rs 80 crore. Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan rank third and fourth, paying Rs 75 crore and Rs 71 crore, respectively. Indian cricketer Virat Kohli rounds out the top five with Rs 66 crore.

On the female side, Kareena Kapoor Khan led the pack, paying Rs 20 crore in taxes. Comedian Kapil Sharma made his mark in the television industry by paying Rs 26 crore.

Looking ahead, after a massive 2023, Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear in King, a highly anticipated film directed by Sujoy Ghosh, which will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan. Details about the project are still under wraps.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan fulfilled his civic duty by casting his vote in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. The actor was seen arriving at his designated polling booth in Mumbai under heightened security measures due to ongoing threats.

Videos circulating on social media captured Salman stepping out of his car, dressed in a grey t-shirt, jeans, and a black cap, as he made his way to the polling station. Despite the heavy security, the actor paused to pose for photographs with fans outside the booth.

Salman Under Radar

Salman Khan has been under constant security due to threats linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Recently, an alleged member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang issued a threat against him while claiming responsibility for politician Baba Siddique’s death. The Mumbai Police responded by increasing Salman’s security, ensuring his safety during public appearances.

Salman wasn’t the only star exercising his democratic rights. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, and Kiara Advani, were spotted at polling stations throughout the day.

In the upcoming episode of ‘Bigg Boss 18’, Salman Khan confronts Ashneer Grover over his past remarks. A newly released promo shows the Bollywood superstar welcoming the ‘Shark Tank India’ fame as a guest but not holding back when addressing Grover’s controversial statements.

Salman directly questioned Grover, saying, “Mere baare me kehte huye suna hai that you have signed me. Sab figures bhi aapne galat bataye. Toh phir yeh dogalapan kya hai? (I heard you talked about signing me and mentioned all the wrong figures. So what is this double standard?)” Grover responded politely, “Aapko jo brand ambassador kia, I think that was one of the smartest moves.”

However, Salman wasn’t convinced and continued to challenge Grover, remarking, “Yeh jo attitude ab hai, tab wahan nahi dikha tha (This attitude you are showing now wasn’t apparent back then).” Grover explained that his comments from the podcast had been taken out of context.

For those unfamiliar, Ashneer Grover previously shared an incident during a podcast involving Salman Khan. He claimed to have met the actor during a sponsored ad shoot, stating, “Salman Khan se mila hoon. Usko humne sponsor rakha tha, toh uske shoot ke liye mila tha. Shoot se pehle mila tha usko brief karne ke liye ki company kya hai. Toh teen ghante baitha tha uske saath, uske manager ne bol diya ki photo nahi khichwani hai, sir thoda bura maan jaate hain. Maine kaha saale, maine bola, nahi khichwaunga photo, bhaad main ja tu. Matlab aisi kaunsi heropanti ho gayi (I met Salman when I briefed him for a sponsored ad shoot. I sat with him for three hours, and then his manager told me that Salman would not take a photo with me. I said I won’t take a picture, you go to hell).”

I just wish that, you know, I believe in one thing your personal life is your personal life. If I go to defend this, then sir, somewhere someone was a part of your life and you’d be denying it.

He also spoke about Aishwarya’s marriage, for which he confessed his admiration for Abhishek. “The best thing to do is stay silent. Itne saal beet gaye hai, you know, she is someone’s wife, married into a big family. I am very happy that she is married to Abhishek. I think Abhishek is a great guy. This is the best thing any ex-boyfriend would want. You don’t want, once your friendship is over, you don’t want that person to be miserable without you.”. So you want this person to really really be very happy without you. So that, ek selfish reason bhi hogya, there’s no guilt on your head. But that is the best way to see it. That’s how I feel,” Salman said.
