Rohit Shetty has finally addressed the ongoing rumours about a fallout with Shah Rukh Khan. Many believed their bond weakened after Dilwale didn’t perform well at the box office. However, Rohit clarified the situation during an interview on Komal Nahta’s Game Changers podcast. He said, “Nahi aisa kuch nahi (There’s nothing like that).”

Why They Took Different Paths

Rohit explained that after Dilwale, he started focusing on his own production house. He said, “Ek respect hai humare beech me aur Dilwale ke baad ye hua ki immediately phir humne humare khud ki production house kholi. Humne decide kiya ki hum khud ki filmein banayenge. Agar loss bhi ho to humara ho, jabki loss nahi hua tha.”

He made it clear that there was no fallout. Instead, they simply chose separate directions for their careers.

Dilwale’s Global Performance

Rohit pointed out that Dilwale did well in international markets. The film, produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, released on December 19, 2015. It faced tough competition from Bajirao Mastani, which starred Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Priyanka Chopra.

Celebrating filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s birthday today, his friends and colleagues from the cinema have taken to social media to express their heartfelt greetings to him.

Rohit’s close friend and actor Ajay Devgn shared a picture of himself with Rohit and wrote, “Another year older, but the stunts keep getting crazier. Happy Birthday, my friend @itsrohitshetty.”

Rohit and Ajay share a strong bond and have collaborated on numerous films, including the ‘Singham’ and ‘Golmaal’ franchise.

“I dropped out of school when I was in 10th and worked for 15 years. I struggled and worked a lot. During this time, Ajay started his company. By then, I had worked a lot with Ajay in ‘Suhaag’, ‘Haqeeqat’, and ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’. But before ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’, the previous movies did not do well or were not completed. Then he started his company and told me, ‘You come with me and we will work together.’ Then, I started working in ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’. I was an associate director there ‘Raju Chacha’ and all these films and then after 13-14 years I told him I wanted to direct and he said sure and then I narrated to him a script and he said we should do it,” Rohit said in an interview to ANI.

“That film was ‘Zameen’,” he added.

Rohit Shetty directed the 2003 action thriller, featuring Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, and Bipasha Basu.

“So, that break was easy because Ajay was there for me. I didn’t have to struggle to get my first film because before that already that 15 years or 14 years of hard work had gone,” Rohit shared.

While exploring Ajay’s filmography, Shetty emphasized the actor’s versatility. “He has done everything,” Rohit said, referencing Ajay’s diverse roles in films like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’,’ Zakhm’, and ‘Raincoat’. He also revealed that Ajay Devgn is usually quiet. “He is like that”, said Rohit.

In his praise for Ajay Devgn, Rohit said, “The body of work he has done, agar koi aur hota to 20ve maale ki building se chilata,” highlighting Ajay’s huge impact in a changing generation through his roles in movies.

In the coming months, Rohit will release ‘Singham 3’, which will feature Ajay alongside Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff.

In an interview with ANI, Shetty explained, “I did ‘Simmba’, ‘Sooryavanshi’ and then the pandemic came for two years because ‘Sooryavanshi”s end is linked to ‘Singham’, we had to wait for almost three years to start shooting for the film.”

Rohit Shetty who enjoys shooting in Hyderabad and Goa has finished some of the shooting for ‘Singham Again’ at the Ramoji studio in Hyderabad “It’s a huge studio and the kind of work I do…car chases, action and all that…so for that, I need that kind of place. There are not many restrictions and I love that place. You stay there in the studio and you shoot there..it’s kind of boarding school… there is discipline..within two minutes you are on a set.”

Talking about the role of Ajay Devgn and whether he will reprise the character of Inspector Bajirao Singham, Shetty said, “He is upgraded now, although he is playing an officer but on a bigger level. He has a different mission altogether from the government.”
“Then there is Ranveer and Deepika,” he said
“They all come from a different region. It’s not like in one police station. The film travels. It travels from Mumbai to South till Rameswaram and forward from that,” reveals Shetty.

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra celebrated the sixth anniversary of his engaging murder mystery film, ‘Ittefaq,’ by sharing a clip from the film on his Instagram story and exclaiming, “6 years of ‘Ittefaq”.

Ittefaq, a remake of the 1979 film of the same name starring Rajesh Khanna, was directed by Abhay Chopra, the grandson of the original film’s producer, BR Chopra. The plot revolves around a double murder investigation in which the only witnesses, prime suspects Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra), an acclaimed writer, and Maya (Sonakshi Sinha), a young homemaker, offer contradictory accounts of the fateful night.

Released on November 3, 2017, ‘Ittefaq’ also stars Akshaye Khanna as the investigating police officer. Notably, the film was co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar.

Regarding Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming projects, the release date of his upcoming film “Yodha,” starring Rashii Khanna and Disha Patani, has been rescheduled to December 8. Malhotra expressed his excitement for the film, saying, “As an artist, you would want to work on scripts that bring out the best in you.” He is looking forward to showcasing what ‘Yodha’ has to offer after receiving praise from fans for his previous work.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met filmmaker Rohit Shetty on Mondy in Mumbai.

During the meeting director, Amit B Wadhwani was also present and they met at the Sahyadri State Guest House.

Taking to Twitter Shah shared the meeting pictures and wrote, “Met noted director Rohit Shetty, today in Mumbai.”
