Revanth Reddy And Ajay Banga Agree On Roadmap For Collaborative Projects

During his visit to the United States, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and World Bank President Ajay Banga held discussions and agreed to create a roadmap for collaboration on various projects, according to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Wednesday. The release noted that potential partnership areas being explored include skills development, urban renewal and innovation, Net Zero initiatives, healthcare for citizens, diagnostics, and electronic records, among other areas.

During the more than hour-long meeting between the World Bank President and the Chief Minister along with his team, it was agreed to form a cross-functional team to rapidly develop feasible projects in each key area. The discussions primarily focused on themes such as people, the planet, sustainability, health, skills, and job creation.

The support from the World Bank would significantly enhance several of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s key initiatives, such as the Musi River rejuvenation project, Skill University, Future City, Citizen Healthcare, and the Hyderabad 4.0 development, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). “The World Bank, while expressing delight and optimism about the balanced vision of the Chief Minister for Telangana and Hyderabad, highlighted how the bank has enjoyed success in generating positive outcomes in the region with several project initiatives earlier. He also showcased a great interest in backing the vision for the creation of a Net Zero city,” the CMO said in its release.

Reddy expressed his satisfaction with the prominent endorsement of several major state initiatives and committed to pursuing each project with a mission-focused approach to achieve ambitious results and outcomes, while maintaining the highest level of transparency.

This marks the first time Telangana has sought to collaborate with any Bretton Woods institutions. The Telangana delegation provided an overview of various developments affecting citizens’ lives, the environment, and sustainability within the state. The meeting was attended by IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, Telangana Chief Secretary A Shanta Kumari, and other officials including Jayesh Ranjan, Ramakrishna Rao, V. Sheshadri, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, and Ajith Reddy. Telangana, with its vast business potential, can be a key player in the American industry’s China-plus-one strategy, according to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Speaking at a luncheon meeting with top CEOs and business leaders in the US, hosted by the Consulate General of India in New York, Reddy highlighted Telangana’s strengths in software, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals, as well as its solid foundation in aerospace, defense, electronics, and other sectors.

A Promising Landscape for Investment

“We have excellent infrastructure, a talented workforce, and offer the best policy support for investors. Hyderabad, a city with over 425 years of history, is as old as the United States of America,” Reddy noted.

The meeting was attended by over 20 chairpersons and CEOs from various sectors, including pharma, IT, technology, EV, GCC, biotech, and shipping, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office. During his visit to the US, Reddy outlined ambitious projects in Telangana that promise significant investment opportunities and exponential growth.

Commitment to Ease of Doing Business

“We are developing a new industrial policy to realize our ambitions. We aim to make it very easy to start and expand businesses in Telangana. Telangana means business—I mean it,” Reddy emphasized.

State IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu also highlighted Telangana’s strengths across various industries and detailed the policies that position the state as a viable alternative to China for manufacturing, with aspirations to make Hyderabad one of the world’s top 10 cities.

Key Business Engagements

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Reddy and IT Minister Babu met with Trigyn Technologies, a global digital and intelligence solutions provider specializing in data analytics and artificial intelligence. Trigyn, which already has a 100-person office in Hyderabad, plans to establish an AI innovation and delivery center in the city, growing to a total capacity of over 1,000 employees within three years.

Similarly, tech firm Arcesium, a leading provider of tech solutions for asset managers, announced plans to expand its operations in Hyderabad. Led by CEO Gaurav Suri, Arcesium representatives discussed hiring 500 high-end tech professionals in Hyderabad over the next two years.

In addition, the Telangana delegation engaged with Swachh Bio, a lignocellulosic biofuels manufacturing company, which has committed to investing ₹1,000 crore in Telangana to establish a 2G Bioethanol plant, creating 500 jobs.

Through these engagements, Telangana aims to attract significant investments and foster growth across multiple sectors, reinforcing its position as a key investment destination in India.

He assured that those found responsible will face consequences, reopening the case recently after its closure in 2019. Rohith Vemula’s tragic suicide in 2016, reportedly due to disciplinary actions at Hyderabad Central University, sparked nationwide outrage.

During a recent statement to ANI, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy affirmed the commitment to justice, stating, “A detailed inquiry will be done, and the culprits will be punished.” The reassurance from the Telangana CM follows a meeting with Rohith Vemula’s family on May 4, where they urged the state government to reinvestigate the case, emphasizing ongoing efforts to seek justice for the deceased scholar.

Radhika Vemula, Rohith Vemula’s mother, voiced confidence in the Chief Minister’s commitment to conduct a fair investigation, expressing hope for justice under this administration. Meanwhile, Rohith Vemula’s brother, Vemula Raja, disclosed that the Telangana Director General of Police has pledged to seek a reinvestigation through a High Court petition. Raja emphasized their belief in the Congress government’s dedication to reopening the case transparently and ensuring a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding Rohith Vemula’s death.

Earlier, reports indicated that the Telangana Police concluded their inquiry into Vemula’s death, stating he was not from the SC community and died by suicide. The closure report was filed on March 21 by the investigating officer.

However, the Telangana Director General of Police announced a decision to initiate further investigation into the PhD scholar’s death in January 2016. This move followed the recent filing of a closure report by the state police. Vemula, a PhD scholar at Hyderabad Central University, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in a hostel room on January 17, 2016. Allegedly, he was distressed by disciplinary actions taken against him by the university.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the BJP’s ‘Modi ka Pariwar’ campaign.

Reddy welcomed PM Modi in Adilabad, emphasizing the importance of states collaborating with the Prime Minister for prosperity.

He stated, “Only with his (PM Modi’s) help can Chief Ministers take their states forward. It is my request that if Telangana has to progress, if it has to move ahead like Gujarat, your help is required,” at an event where PM Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs 6,697 crore.

Reddy urged PM Modi to support Hyderabad in the development of the Metro rail and the regeneration of the Musi river, aligning with the goal of a 5 trillion dollar economy.

He emphasized the need for a positive relationship between the Centre and states, stating that the people suffer when there is friction.

Reddy’s approach was seen as a departure from the confrontational stance of his predecessor, K Chandrasekhar Rao, as he publicly expressed his desire to collaborate with PM Modi for development.

PM Modi acknowledged Reddy’s cooperation and, while greeting him warmly, criticized the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy meets KCR

At Yashoda hospital on Sunday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with former chief minister and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, K Chandrashekar Rao. On December 7, KCR had surgery to replace his entire left hip after he fell in his Erravalli farmhouse. Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was admitted to Yashoda Hospital earlier this week. According to the hospital, Rao has a left hip fracture and will likely need a left hip replacement, which could take six to eight weeks to heal.

“Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao Garu had a slip and fall in his Bathroom at his Residence and was subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital for further care. On evaluation, including CT scans he was found to have a left Hip fracture (Extracapsular Neck of femur fracture). He would require left hip replacement for the same and the usual course of recovery for such cases is expected to be six to eight weeks,” the hospital said in a statement.

“He is being constantly monitored by a multi-disciplinary team including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine. His general condition is stable. The hospital will update his health status periodically,” it added.
Meanwhile, on the direction of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Secretary of Health Medical and Family Welfare visited Yashoda Hospital to inquire about the health of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao.

While his daughter K Kavitha reported that the former Telangana chief minister had suffered a minor injury, Prime Minister Narendra Modi prayed for his recovery. “I’m sad to hear that KCR Garu, the former chief minister of Telangana, has sustained an injury. “I hope he heals quickly and stays healthy,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X. Additionally, on X, K Kavitha posted that former Telangana chief minister KCR had suffered a minor injury and was receiving medical attention from professionals.

In the newest state in India, Revanth Reddy was appointed as the first Congress chief minister. In addition, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, a Congress Member of Legislative Assembly, was sworn in as the state’s Deputy Chief Minister in 2014. As the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, Gaddam Prasad Kumar was also sworn in by Governor Soundarajan. At the Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium in Hyderabad, the following people also took an oath: Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, C Damodar Rajanarsimha, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Duddilia Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Poonam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha, D Anasuya Seethakka, Tunmala Nageswara Rao, and Jupally Krishna Rao.

At Hyderabad’s expansive Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan gave him the oath of office.
In 2014, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu was sworn in as the state’s deputy chief minister as well.
Gaddam Prasad Kumar, the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, was also sworn in by Governor Soundarajan.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared earlier this month that the Telangana Assembly polls would take place on November 30. Revanth Reddy refutes Eatala’s allegation of congress accepting Rs 25 crore from BRS for bypoll

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy had burst into tears because he had realised that he had no chances of becoming the chief minister of the state but not because of the allegation made against him by Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Eatala Rajender.

This was stated by state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, while speaking to reporters after paying homage to the Basaveshwara statue at Tank Bund on Sunday.

“What is wrong in Eatala’s comment that Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had paid a bribe of Rs 25 crore to the Congress party in the Munugode by-elections? In fact, I have been saying this for a long time and the Congress leaders themselves are openly talking about it,” Sanjay pointed out.

Reacting to Revanth Reddy’s demand for a proof for Eatala’s allegations, the BJP president said it was an open secret. “Even senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai said KCR had offered to bear the election expenditure of all the opposition parties in the country if he is made the chairman of the opposition front. Did anybody ask for proof for this?” he asked.

Sanjay, however, said there was no surprise if Revanth Reddy had felt bad and burst into tears. “Yes, he is feeling sad, but for what? He wants to become the chief minister but now he has realised that his dream cannot be fulfilled as the alliance between the Congress and the BRS is imminent,” he said.

Sanjay asked whether it was not a fact that the BRS was funding the Congress campaign in Karnataka elections. “Everybody knows that any vote for the Congress party is nothing but a vote for the BRS. Even senior Congress leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and K Jana Reddy spoke openly about a possible alliance with the BRS. AICC president Mallikharjun Kharge also told Rajdeep Sardesai that the Congress would take the BRS along with it. What does Revanth say about it?” he asked.

On the PCC chief taking a vow at Bhagya Lakshmi temple, Sanjay said the credit of the former going to the temple would go to the BJP. “The BJP has the objective of bringing every politician to the Bhagya Lakshmi temple and it is now fulfilled,” he said.

The BJP president lashed out at the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen for making a statement in favour of gangster Atiq Ahmed who was killed in a shootout and his son who was killed in an encounter with the police.

“Atiq Ahmed and his son had killed policemen and looted the poor people. It is shameful on the part of the MIM leaders to speak in favour of such gangsters and pay tributes to them,” he said and asked the people whether they needed such politicians who spoke in support of terror elements.
