Raveena Tandon has issued a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Mohsin Shaikh, who posted a video on social media showing her being harassed by a crowd during a recent road rage incident. The video, which quickly gained traction online, falsely claimed that Raveena was intoxicated. In response, the veteran actress’s legal team is taking action against Shaikh for spreading defamatory content.

Speaking to India Today, Raveena’s lawyer Sana Raees Khan stated, “Recently, an attempt was made to embroil Raveena in a false and frivolous complaint which was clarified in CCTV footage and no complaint was filed. However, recently, a person claiming to be a journalist, is disseminating false information on X regarding the said incident, which is factually incorrect and misleading.”

She added, “This dissemination of false news appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish Raveena’s reputation for ulterior motives. The intent behind continuously spreading these falsehoods seems to be rooted in extortion and a desire to gain cheap publicity at the expense of Raveena’s dignity. We are currently taking all necessary legal steps to address this issue and ensure that justice is served and action is taken against him for perpetuating this defamatory campaign.”

The incident in question involved Raveena being confronted by a group of women who accused her and her driver of assaulting three women, including an elderly lady. What Exactly Happened?

Recently, a man taking to social media platform, alleged, that actor Raveena Tandon’s driver has hit his mother. When questioned, the actor assaulted his mother.

This incident happened, when the man was walking with mother, sister and his niece near actor’s house.

However, the Bollywood actress in turn confirmed the attack against her on Carter Road, Bandra on Saturday night.

Later, during the course of investigation, it was found, that women were indeed in close proximity to actor’s car, but they weren’t harmed.

Instead, the video showed the group arguing with Raveena and her driver for three women alleged assault.

So far, Raveena Tandon hasn’t issued a formal statement, but she had shared the statement on her Instagram stories to clear allegations against her.

After that, senior Mumbai police officer further cleared the air and revealed during mid-day,

“The complainant gave a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress’s driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if people are behind the car before reversing. This argument started between them.”

In addition, the officials also added, that argument soon escalated to abusive language, and to check what has happened, Raveena Tandon arrived at the spot.

However, the mob resorted to hurling abuses at her when the actor intervened to protect the driver from them.

As a result, Actor along with her family came to khar police station and lodged written complaints.

Subsequently, they submitted letters indicating their decision not to file any complaints. Moreover, the purportedly aggrieved party affirmed that they hold no animosity towards the actor and their family.

Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon and her driver were embroiled in a road rage incident on Saturday night at Carter Road in Khar. The confrontation occurred after Tandon’s car allegedly knocked down a woman inside a building premises.

According to a Mumbai police officer, the driver allegedly hit the woman while reversing the car to park it. A video that went viral on social media shows a woman claiming that Tandon and her driver assaulted her, causing her nose to bleed.

In the video, the woman’s son, identified as Muhammed, recounted the incident which happened while he was walking with his mother, sister, and niece near Tandon’s house. “When we confronted him, the driver assaulted my niece and my mother. Raveena Tandon, herself, who was in an inebriated state, also stepped out and brutally assaulted my mother and niece,” Muhammed stated. He added that they had been at the Khar police station for four hours without a complaint being lodged, and were instead offered to settle the dispute privately.

Both parties eventually arrived at the Khar police station to file separate complaints. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roushan (Zone 9) reported that they later agreed to a compromise. “The matter has been resolved now. Both parties have told us in writing that they do not want to lodge any complaint against each other,” said DCP Roushan.

The police are still verifying the details of the incident, including whether Tandon’s driver indeed knocked down the woman and the assault claims.

Actor Raveena Tandon celebrated the 33rd anniversary of ‘Patthar Ke Phool’. She shared glimpses from the movie on her Instagram Story, captioning it with “33 years of Patthar Ke Phool”. This film marked Raveena’s debut opposite Salman Khan and was released in 1991. Directed by Anant Balani, produced by GP Sippy, and written by Salim Khan, the movie emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Raveena’s performance earned her the Best Female Debut award at the Filmfare Awards.

When an American series is adapted to Indian sensibilities, and especially when it is a revenge drama, one expects some fiery fireworks. ‘Karmma Calling’ is the adapted version of the successful US series ‘Revenge’, which ran from 2011 to 2015, and director Ruchi Narain has tried to serve the audience here a slice of that tasty dish. Produced by Ektaa Kapoor, ‘Karmma Calling’ released on Disney+Hotstar on January 26.
The seven-episode series is set in Alibaug (as compared to the Hamptons in the US series) and sees Raveena Tandon play Indrani Kothari, the Queen of Alibaug. Indrani, a former Bollywood star, is the one who controls everything that happens in the elite society there, which includes her friend Dolly (Waluscha De Souza), a financial wiz (Mohan Kapoor), a rising politician (Shataf Figar) and a psychic healer (Alpana Buch). Suddenly, the social equilibrium is upset when young Karma Talwar (Namrata Sheth) buys a huge mansion next to Indrani’s and starts making waves in the elite society. Indrani is intrigued and suspicious about Karma who ends up getting engaged to her son. Karma comes with her own baggage and is out to get revenge with the help of a super-rich security consultant-turned-friend Zane Khan (Viraf Patel). The series narrates what has occurred over the last six months since Karma’s move into Alibaug and is filled with conspiracies, manipulation, betrayals, adultery, mystery, murders and more.
‘Karmma Calling’ had a great plot of two women pitted against each other but sadly it bites the dust. At the outset, the series is written and executed exactly like one of the Hindi soap operas – garish costumes, excessive makeup, a lot of close-ups, slow narration, repetitiveness, verbosity, and so on. It is not a patch on the US series. One wonders of this is because it is an Ektaa Kapoor production or that was how Ruchi Narain had envisioned it.
Raveena Tandon is the highlight of the series and is really good as Indrani Kothari. Unfortunately, none of the other actors – including the other protagonist Namrata Sheth – deliver a standout performance. The acting is below par and not engaging enough to hold your attention. Namrata Sheth, in fact, seems to be a miscast for this role. ‘Karmma Calling’ would have been better off on television than OTT – this saas-could be bahu drama is just another TV soap.

Along with her daughter Rasha Thadani, actress Raveena Tandon recently offered prayers at the renowned Somnath Mahadev Temple in Gujarat. The “KGF Chapter 2″ actor and her daughter were featured in multiple social media posts.

In a video message, Raveena said, “We are very lucky that we got the opportunity to come here and sought blessings. PM Modi is the Chairman of Somnath Trust and he has made very good arrangements here and his work is visible in the entire country. I had also gone to Kashi Vishwanath temple to seek blessings and have come here today and they have made such good arrangements here. All of us who come here to worship, I think he (PM Modi) is also earning some virtue. All the countrymen send him so much love and prayers, so we thank him very much and may he keep doing the same for us and our country.”

Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon, accompanied by her daughter Rasha Thadani, offered prayers at the revered Kedarnath temple here on Tuesday. Upon reaching the Kedarnath temple, the actor took part in the Rudrabhishek puja, a sacred ritual.

Raveena was greeted warmly as she exited the Kedarnath shrine by admirers and visitors eager to take photographs with the Bollywood diva. She expressed her admiration for the arrangements made by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee and was left spellbound by the natural beauty of Kedarnath Dham.

Raveena Tandon is renowned for her iconic roles in films like ‘Mohra,’ ‘Laadla,’ ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ ‘Dulhe Raja,’ ‘Anari No.1,’ ‘Ghulam-E-Mustafa,’ ‘Shool,’ ‘Patthar Ke Phool,’ and many more. In the first picture, Raveena can be seen taking a selfie with Rasha. Raveena wore a white t-shirt while her daughter chose a olive coloured shirt with blue denims.

Raveen also posted a video of Rasha dancing and enjoying the whale watching on Gold coast.

Raveena Tandon says, ‘I’ve always tried to do films which have social relevance’

Bollywood diva Raveena Tandon says she has always tried to pick socially relevant stories with strong female characters and the Padma Shri award is a recognition for her body of work in cinema. The actor, who was recently conferred with the Padma Shri , India’s fourth-highest civilian award, starred in critically-acclaimed movies like “Maatr”, “Satta”, and “Daman” in her over three-decade long career.

Tandon, whose filmography boasts of commercial entertainers as well as off-beat movies in the ’90s and early 2000s, said her endeavour has always been to associate with films that speak of women empowerment.

“I have done films which have a social relevance, and have a message of women empowerment. My choices have always been like that. Whether it is ‘Jaago’, ‘Maatr’, ‘Satta’, ‘Shool’ or ‘Daman’ . All these films have dealt with issues of women that were strong,” the actor told PTI in an interview here.

“The reaction mostly on my Twitter was: ‘this was long overdue’ because there are younger actors, who came after me, like Priyanka (Chopra) and a lot of them, who got awards much before I did. It (award) is an accumulation of my work,” she added.

The diva most recently starred in Netflix show “Aranyak” and “KGF: Chapter 2”. She believes female artists have better opportunities than they had in the ’90s, an era dominated by male stars.

“There was always a struggle. According to me, the 90s was male dominated, whether it was media or movies, what the hero said, happened,” she said, adding that over the years things have changed for the better.

“Today there is a positive change, women are at the forefront, whether as director or producer or as heads of programming in OTT or in the TV industry. I am very positive that things will become better in every way, including pay parity.”

Over the years, the actor said, she has realised that acting is a craft that one never stops learning.

“I still don’t think I am a successful actor because acting is something that you are learning every day, you are evolving every day. The day you think, ‘I know it all and I have learnt it all’, I think that it is the beginning of the end.”

Tandon, 48, said even now she gets “butterflies” in her stomach before a difficult shot.
“That feeling is good because it makes you give your best.”

The actor said receiving the fourth-highest civilian award from President Droupadi Murmu was a moment of pride for her and her family.

“I was just very thankful and grateful. What made my day was receiving (the honour) from the President herself and very sweetly she said, ‘I am so happy to give you this award, I have seen all your work’,” Tandon recalled.

“She was so humble, sweet and kind. I told her ‘I am honoured to receive the award from you’. And the minute I took the award and turned and looked I could see my husband, my son and daughter beaming,” the actor added.

Tandon’s upcoming slate of films include Arbaaz Khan-backed social drama “Patna Shukla” and romantic-comedy “Gudchadhi” with Sanjay Dutt.

PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were in attendance during the ceremony. Expressing her gratitude, the diva earlier said, “Honoured and grateful. Thank you so much, Government of India, for acknowledging my contributions, my life, my passion and purpose- cinema and the arts, that allowed me to contribute, not only to the film industry, but beyond. I thank all those who watched me from their place above. I owe this to my father.”

Raveena Tandon’s Tiger video goes viral, Probe launched

Actress Raveen Tandon has gotten herself into some controversy by sharing a video on social media,

Raveena recently shared a video on her social media account in which she can be seen in close contact with a tiger while on a safari in the lush, green Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The safari truck is seen approaching a tiger in the sensational social media video. In the footage, you can hear camera shutters and see a tiger roaring at them.

The management of the forest reserve, however, was not pleased. A probe has been mandated by the Tiger Reserve management.

Authorities claim that if a person approaches a tiger too closely, the tiger may become preoccupied and an untoward incident may occur.

Additionally, the gypsy driver and the authorities present will be interrogated and given notice.

Sandeep Pheloj, the Satpuda Tiger Reserve’s deputy director, addressed the situation and said that an investigation will be conducted into whether Raveena actually visited the reserve. He also said that a separate investigation would be opened to examine the driver and the tour guide who were with Raveena.

It’s interesting to note that Raveena has now removed the tiger video that she had previously put on her social media.
