Ayodhya Celebrating Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha Anniversary

The first anniversary celebrations of the Ram Lalla idol Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya started on Saturday, attracting thousands of devotees to the holy city. The events aim to include both VIPs and the common public, offering everyone a chance to be part of this momentous occasion.

Religious and cultural events began at the Ram Mandir complex on Saturday. The anniversary celebrations kicked off with the recitation of the Yajurveda. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to perform the ‘Abhishek‘ (ritual bathing) of the Ram Lalla idol. The grand aarti of the deity will take place at around 12:20 PM. The celebrations will also include the offering of 56 dishes to the idol, a sacred tradition in Ayodhya.

Decorated Court of Ram Lalla Welcomes Devotees

The decorators have beautifully adorned the court of Ram Lalla with flowers in honor of the occasion. Devotees expressed their joy at being able to witness this milestone celebration. Resident Anup Mishra shared his excitement, saying, “We were unable to attend last year, but this time we are fortunate to be here on the first anniversary.”

Sarla Maheshwari from Bhopal, who arrived in Ayodhya two days ago for the anniversary celebrations, said, “We feel excited that today we will see the deity.”

Public Invited to Attend Celebrations

Scheduled from January 11 to 13, the celebrations are designed to include common people, who missed the initial consecration ceremony. Around 110 VIPs, many of whom were unable to attend last year’s ceremony, are also invited to join the celebrations. The temple trust has set up a German hangar tent at the Angad Teela site. The tent can accommodate up to 5,000 people.

These festivities will feature cultural performances, rituals, and daily Ram Katha discourses. The public can join in at Angad Teela, where they will experience the grand event.

Trust Welcomes Saints, Devotees, and Residents to Participate

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has already invited saints and devotees from across the country to take part in the celebrations. Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, encouraged pilgrims to visit Ayodhya and experience the spiritual atmosphere. “We invite everyone to participate, even for a day, during the three-day festival.”

The consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol on January 22, 2024, marked a historic event, which was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath have garnered the attention of many politicians after the construction of Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple in Banaras and Mauritius Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade, Dhananjay Ramful is just one of them.

Ramful said on Tuesday, that he wanted to visit Ram Temple in Ayodhya after the elections in Mauritius and added that he is impressed by the temple built here.

“I came here on a private visit. You know, there was the general election in Mauritius and after the general election, I always wanted to come here. It was my wish to come and have the darshan of Lord Ram. So I started my pilgrimage in Banaras. I went to the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and then I came over here to Ayodhya to get the blessings of Lord Ram, ” Speaking about his visit to Ram Temple, Dhananjay Ramful said.

He praised PM Modi and CM Yogi for the development in Ayodhya and temple. He said that started his visit from Banaras and visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple there.

“I have to congratulate the Chief Minister, Yogi Ji, Prime Minister Narendra Modi for whatever they’ve done here with regards to the development here in Ayodhya as well as the temple. It’s a great temple and it is something very immense and I feel very proud as well. I was very much impressed by the temple that was built here,” he said

Earlier this year, PM Modi led rituals at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum of the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple of Ram Lalla. The magnificent Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is constructed in traditional Nagara style.

The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlalla) has been placed.

Earlier in November, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar congratulated Dhananjay Ramful on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade of Mauritius.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said that he looks forward to working closely with Ramful to strengthen the “special ties of friendship” and deepen the multi-faceted cooperation.

In his message, PM Modi said that he looks forward to working closely with Dr. Ramgoolam to further strengthen their “unique partnership.”

Sharing a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Had a warm conversation with my friend @Ramgoolam_Dr, congratulating him on his historic electoral victory. ‘Ram Lalla’ Temple built in Sonipat by Nirmohi Akhara

After centuries-long efforts for Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and serving as a key plaintiff in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits, Nirmohi Akhara has constructed an impressive ‘Ram Lalla’ Temple in Khanda village, Sonipat district, Haryana.

The installation of the ‘Ram Lalla’ idol in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum was a highlight of the ‘Ram Navami’ celebrations, marked by reverberating chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The 416-year-old ‘math’ underwent a significant renovation to accommodate the new temple. Saints from Nirmohi Akhara, hailing from various parts of India, participated in the week-long ‘Pran Pratishtha’ rituals.

Crafted from white ‘Makrana’ marble by Jaipur-based sculptor Satyanarayan Pandey, the ‘Ram Lalla’ idol mirrors the one at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. Surrounding the idol are twelve golden arches depicting scenes from the Ramayana, skillfully crafted by Saint Sadhvi Kamal Vaishnav of Nirmohi Akhara. Additionally, a symbol of Lord Vishnu, the ‘Vaishnav Dharma Istambh’, has been installed in the ‘math’.

As part of the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony, the idol of ‘Ram Lalla’ was ritually bathed with sacred water from the River Saryu in Ayodhya. The temple’s restoration work was overseen by Dr. Raj Singh.

Leading the consecration ceremony were Sant Shri Madan Mohan of Vrindavan, who presided over Nirmohi Akhara’s ‘Kumbh Mela’, and Sant Shri Ram Sewak Das of Gwalior, a member of the Akhara’s management board.

Nirmohi Akhara, an ‘akhara’ of the Ramanandi order of the Vaishnava sect, was established in the early 18th century.

During his busy election schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a break between his rallies in Assam to watch the ‘Surya Tilak’ ritual of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Temple on the occasion of Ram Navami. The Prime Minister shared pictures on social media from inside his aircraft, showing him watching a recording of the moment when the rays of the sun lit up the forehead of Ram Lalla on his handheld device. PM Modi noted that like millions of Indians, this was a deeply emotional moment for him.

“After my Nalbari rally, I watched the Surya Tilak on Ram Lalla. Like crores of Indians, this is a very emotional moment for me. The grand Ram Navami in Ayodhya is historic. May this Surya Tilak bring energy to our lives and may it inspire our nation to scale new heights of glory,” PM Modi shared on social media.

The temple trust had commissioned a team of scientists to make this occasion possible. Devotees across Ayodhya and in temples across the country celebrated the moment with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ with many expressing joy through song and dance.

This Ram Navami marks the first celebration after the Pran Pratishtha of the idol of Lord Ram by PM Modi on January 22 in Ayodhya. The darshan at the temple began at 3:30 am and was broadcast on about 100 LED screens throughout Ayodhya, as well as on the trust’s social media accounts.

The inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya this year introduced a unique scientific system aimed at adorning the idol of Ram Lalla with a ‘Surya Tilak’ on every Ram Navami, beginning in 2024.

Ram Navami, celebrated on the ninth day of the first month of the Hindu calendar, usually falls in March-April, marking Lord Rama’s birth anniversary. This year, Ram Navami falls on April 17.

The system involves an intricate network of lenses and mirrors within the temple premises, directing a ray of sunlight onto Ram Lalla’s forehead to create the revered ‘Surya Tilak’ as a symbol of reverence and celebration.

How ‘Surya Tilak’ will be projected on Ram Lalla’s idol

The ‘Surya Tilak‘ project aims to illuminate Lord Ram Lalla’s idol with natural sunlight precisely at 12 pm on every Ram Navami. This event, lasting “three to four minutes, potentially extending to around six minutes,” is made possible by a collaboration between Optica and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics Bangalore.

The project features precision lenses and mirrors that harness natural sunlight, creating the divine symbol during this auspicious occasion.
A sophisticated lunar calendar gear mechanism is at the core of the project, aligning with Ram Navami Day each year.
The optical path, piping, and tip-tilt stages have been engineered without springs for longevity and hassle-free maintenance.
The system, fabricated and installed using only “Pancha Dathu,” can sustain for 100 years with easy optic replacements, ensuring continuous operation and reverence.

Following a successful trial run of the ‘Surya Abhishek’ for Ram Lalla, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust is confident that the sun rays will fall directly on the deity on April 17, Ram Navami. Experts from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, are ensuring the smooth execution of the event.

The project involved technical assistance from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in Bengaluru and collaboration with Optica. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla and Devdutt Ghosh, Directors of CBRI, Roorkee, oversaw the project, leveraging their expertise to ensure structural integrity and longevity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested during the Deepotsav celebration in Ayodhya on October 23, 2022, that the sanctum-sanctorum of the Ram temple should be designed to allow direct sunlight on the idol on Ram Navami, similar to the Konark temple in Odisha.

Ayodhya: Ram Lalla Adopts Summer Attire; Ram Navami Arrangements Underway

As the summer season begins and temperatures rise, Ram Lalla, the venerated deity of Ayodhya Temple, has switched to wearing comfortable cotton clothes starting Saturday. Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra posted on X, “The vastra that Prabhu is wearing today is made of handloom cotton malmal, dyed with natural indigo, and adorned with gotta flowers.”

Ram Lalla, a venerated idol standing 51 inches tall and representing the young Lord Rama, also known as “Balak Ram,” is crafted from a unique three-billion-year-old black stone by the talented artisan Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony for the divine idol was conducted on January 22, 2024. In preparation for the forthcoming Ram Navami celebrations, the administration of the Hanumangarhi temple convened on Friday to plan for the accommodation of devotees, according to temple officials.

The district administration and the police of Ayodhya were present at the meeting as well. they said. “The officials discussed provisions for drinking water and arrangements with special attention to the provision of toilets to ensure that devotees’ feet do not burn in the summer heat.”

Following the Pran Pratishtha, on the fifth day, devotees kept flooding the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to receive the darshan of Shri Ram Lalla. All amenities for the new devotees have been provided, according to IG Range Ayodhya Praveen Kumar; he has urged people to visit after the winter passes.

Huge crowds of people are travelling for darshan. Based on headcounts, 3.15 lakh people attended for darshan even yesterday. We’re making sure all the amenities are accessible for the devotees arriving, and given it’s the weekend, a big crowd is anticipated. On Monday of this week, the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla took place at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Following the hour-long procedures, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, where the Ram Lalla statue was unveiled. Why Sita’s Idol Remain Missing?

In a press conference Sharda Nandan Giri of Juna Akhara in Maharashtra did drop a hint at a possible development stating, “The installation of the idol of Ram Lalla is underway in the sanctum sanctorum of the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Notably, the temple is planned to feature an idol of Lord Ram alongside Sita.”

Believing the media sources, there stands a plan to install an idol of Lord Ram on the bottom level of the temple. And further the Ram’s brothers, Hanuman and Sita on the first floor of the opulent building. It is believed that the installing of the additional idol might take few more months.

However, as per Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, the Ram idol known as ‘Ram Lalla’, is the idol depicting in the form of 5- year- old child. Hence, due to the depiction of Lord Ram in his young age, there won’t be a provision for placing the idol of Maa Sita in the sanctum sanctorum.

Following the unveiling of the Ram Lalla idol at the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple in Ayodhya on Monday, devotees outside the Wadala Ram Temple in Mumbai expressed their joy by celebrating the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla through dancing and bursting crackers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present as he led rituals during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.

The ceremony took place in an atmosphere imbued with a profound sense of devotion. Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters added to the solemnity by showering flower petals over the premises of Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple in Ayodhya during the unveiling of the Ram Lalla idol. Devotees and guests joined in chanting ‘Jai Sri Ram’ to celebrate the occasion. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.

In the southwestern part of the Mandir complex, Kuber Tila houses the restored ancient temple of Bhagwan Shiv, along with the installation of a statue of Jatayu.

The foundation of the Mandir is constructed with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), providing the appearance of artificial rock, with no use of iron throughout. To guard against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high plinth has been constructed using granite. The Mandir complex includes facilities such as a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety, and an independent power station. The construction of the Mandir incorporates traditional and indigenous technology of the country.

Over 8,000 guests have been invited to the ceremony at the grand temple.
The historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony was attended by representatives of all major spiritual and religious sects of the country.
People from all walks of life including representatives of various tribal communities also attended the ceremony.

Saswat Ranjan, a sculpture from Odisha made a replica of the Ram Temple of Ayodhya ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishthan’ ceremony using only matchsticks in Puri. The artist said, “It took six days to complete this replica of Ayodhya’s Ram mandir. I used a total of 936 matchsticks to finish this project. The Ram Mandir replica has a length of 14 inches and a width of seven inches. I don’t think that it is possible to make a Ram Mandir replica using matchsticks smaller than this.” Ranjan further expressed his wish to present the replica to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ayodhya is about to go down in history with the much awaited “Pran Pratishtha” of Shri Ram Lalla on Monday. On Monday, January 22, Paush Shukla Kurma Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080, is the day of Ram Lalla’s “Pran Pratistha.” Following the classical traditions, a seven-day ritual began on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, as part of the ceremonial journey leading up to the Pran Pratishtha. On January 16, Anil Mishra, one of the trustees of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, performed the atonement ceremony, which included a “purifying bath” in the river Sarayu.

Worshiping Lord Vishnu and offering Panchgavya, ghee, and Panchgavyaprashan were among the rituals. The ‘Dashdaan’ was celebrated with a ‘Karmakuti Homa’. The chief Acharya overseeing Pran Pratishtha, Laxmikant Dixit, presided over the atonement ceremony. Both before the big day and during the atonement ceremony, the Valmiki Ramayana and Bhusundiramayana were recited. Day 2 of the events began on January 17 with a “Jalayatra,” a procession that carried the idol of Ram Lalla to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya across the Sarayu River in a Mangal Kalash.

The third day began with Ganeshambika puja followed by around 15 different rituals including Varun puja, Chaturvedokta Punyahvachan, Vastu puja and Nandishraddha.
Day 4 started with Ganpati puja. The establishing of ‘agni’ manifested through ‘Arnimanthan’ in the ‘Navkunds’ was conducted among other pujas. A ‘havan’ was also performed along with a recitation of ‘Veda’ and Ramayana.
Rituals with sugar and fruits, along with daily prayers and Havan were carried out on the fifth day.
Day 6 will witness Havan and daily worship of the established deities and the divine bathing of the idol with sacred water from 114 Kalash and eventually laid to rest ahead of the grand Pran Pratishtha.

The World Hindu Foundation’s founder and global chairman, Swami Vigyananand, announced on Sunday that approximately one hundred dignitaries, including ambassadors and Members of Parliament, have been invited to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Sculptor Arun Yogiraj carves RAM LALLA idol for Ram Temple inauguration

The much-anticipated inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is set to take place on January 22, with a unique touch of craftsmanship from Mysore. The statue of Ramlalla, to be installed in the Ram Mandir, has been intricately carved by Mysore-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, as confirmed by the Ramjanma Bhoomi Trust.

The selection of the Ramlalla idol, standing 51 inches tall, was made through unanimous voting. Arun Yogiraj, an MBA graduate, left his corporate job to pursue his family’s sculpting legacy, and his work will now be showcased in the grandeur of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
