While promoting her upcoming film Retro, she shared that she would like to work in biopics in the future. When asked if she would be interested in a biopic on the legendary actress Sridevi, Pooja mentioned that she had already danced to Sridevi’s song “Elluvachi Godaramma” and said she would love to act in such a film. Her comments suggested admiration for the late actress and excitement about the possibility.

Pooja pointed out that although she had never done a biopic before, she found the idea exciting. She explained that stories of unsung heroes appealed to her more than those of well-known personalities. Bollywood actress Pooja Hegde has officially joined action entertainer ‘Coolie’ with the well-known director Lokesh Kanagaraj. She will be seen with superstar Rajinikanth.

Sun Pictures, the film’s production house, spilled the beans via social media that the actress is part of the dance number in the film. Set to be one of the highlights of the film, the music for this number is by Anirudh Ravichander.

Deva, Shahid Kapoor’s new action-thriller, showed minor growth in its box office collection on its third day. Sacnilk reports that the Rosshan Andrrews film collected ₹7.15 crore on Sunday. Its total domestic collection now stands at ₹19.05 crore. Hindi occupancy for the film stood at 15.34% on February 2.

A Remake With a New Twist

Deva is an official remake of Rosshan Andrrews’ 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police. While the essence of the original remains intact, the Bollywood adaptation presents a revised climax, adding a fresh layer of suspense.

The film features Shahid Kapoor as ACP Dev Ambre and Pooja Hegde as Diya Sathaye in pivotal roles. Other prominent actors include Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, Kubbra Sait, Girish Kulkarni, and Manish Wadhwa.

Taran Adarsh Highlights Slow Growth

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share insights on Deva’s box office performance. On Day 2, the film saw 14.36% growth which he considered not enough after the slow start.

He said, ” #Deva sees wafer-thin growth [14.36%] on Day 2, but the all-important leap – much needed after a doltish opening- simply isn’t there. Ideally, the total for the two days should’ve been the opening day’s number. The film needs to claw back lost territory on Sunday.”

Adarsh elaborated further on how the collections are split:

Day 1 (Friday): ₹5.78 cr

Day 2 (Saturday): ₹6.61 cr

Total (first two days): ₹12.39 cr

Shahid Kapoor Praises Co-actor

During the promotions of the film, Shahid Kapoor praised his co-star Pooja Hegde, saying she has worked really hard to get to where she is. “Not everyone can make it on their own, and I appreciate that about her. Also, the way she dances—it’s very charming, and I really enjoy watching her perform,” he said.

Actor Pooja Hegde has voiced her thoughts on Tamil superstar Vijay’s decision to enter politics, expressing both admiration and a tinge of sadness. Hegde, who has worked with Vijay in the past and is set to reunite with him in Jana Nayakan, acknowledged that while she will miss seeing him on the big screen, she wholeheartedly supports his new journey.

The actress who last worked with Vijay on Beast has mentioned that she feels elated to be a part of his third and probably last film before his moving full-time to politics.

I feel sad. But at the same time, I support his decision. I am rooting for him and wishing all the best to him in this new chapter,” Hegde told PTI in an interview.

Reflecting on her role, she said, “As an investigative journalist, you need to ask difficult questions, even if it makes people uncomfortable. I channeled that determination into my performance.”

She also disclosed that though she did not directly interact with journalists to prepare for the role, she was inspired by the Academy Award-winning film Spotlight. “I admired the way the journalists in that film pursued the truth. I also loved Erin Brockovich, even though she wasn’t a journalist. The way she was determined to uncover the truth inspired me.”

Actor Shahid Kapoor revealed the title of his upcoming film and unveiled the first look picture. He is gearing ready to release an action thriller on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.

Directed by Rosshan Andrews, whose previous work includes the Malayalam movies “Salute” and “Kayamkulam Kochunni.” ‘Deva’ is the name of the movie. Producing the movie are Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios.

Shahid was seen on the poster with a tough appearance and wearing a white shirt and pants.
