Pawan Kalyan Slams Pahalgam Attack, Calls It a ‘Revival of Hindu Genocide’

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He described the incident as “ghastly and painful.” Moreover, he called it a part of the “revival of Hindu genocide.”

After meeting the families of two victims, Kalyan said he felt deeply disturbed. He stated, “It was a ghastly and painful incident. Today, after meeting Madhusudan’s family and Chandramouli’s family, it is very difficult even for me after hearing what they went through… I don’t have enough strength to speak. In the name of religion, targeting people. It was a very clear-cut target killing.”

Furthermore, he recalled his past visits to Kashmir during the late 1980s. “From 1986-1989 we used to visit Kashmir for Telugu films, so I knew how the situation had changed from 1986 to 1989… from that particular time to now, I feel it is a revival of Hindu genocide,” he said.

Kalyan Meets Victims’ Families

Earlier in the day, Kalyan met the families of two victims — Madhusudan Rao and JS Chandramouli. Both were among the 26 people killed in the terror attack. Madhusudan Rao, a software engineer from Kavali in Nellore district, had traveled to Kashmir with his family. He had been living in Bengaluru. He leaves behind his wife and two children.

Similarly, JS Chandramouli, a retired bank employee, also died in the attack. Offering his condolences, Kalyan demanded strict action. He said, “Perpetrators, the terrorists behind this, should be brought to justice… PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Indian government, I believe they will take stern action.”

PM Modi Vows Strong Response

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted strongly to the attack. While speaking at a public rally in Madhubani, Bihar, he promised to track down and punish the culprits.

He declared, “Friends, today from the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth. India’s spirit will never be broken by terrorism.”

In addition, Modi warned of harsh consequences for those involved. He added, “I want to say in very clear words, those terrorists who have carried out this attack and those who conspired for this attack will get a punishment bigger than they could have ever imagined. Now the time has come to destroy the remaining ground of the terrorists. The will power of 140 crore Indians will now break the back of the masters of terror.”

AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan meets Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday met Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru.

According to the officials, Pawan Kalyan on Thursday arrived in Bengaluru on the invitation of Karnataka Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre to attend the International Human Elephant Conflict Management Conference.

They will discuss the taming of elephants in Karnataka and the training of mahouts and Senior IFS of both states (Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh).

The meeting will be held in Vidhana Soudha of Karnataka.

Earlier on Monday, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan attended the District Collectors Conference at the Secretariat along with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu said a vision document related to the state will be released on October 2 and will be committed to the super six guarantees.

The super six guarantees include the complete loan waiver for farmers and women under the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) scheme, an unemployment allowance of Rs 2,000 per month, Rs 2 lakh financial assistance for housing, free electricity for farmers, a Rs 15,000 annual grant for poor families and Rs 2,000 assistance for every SC, ST, OBC, and minority families.

Speaking at the conference, Kalyan said, “People have blessed the NDA coalition with 164 Assembly seats, 21 Lok Sabha seats, and a striking rate of 93%. We must do justice to the trust they have placed in us…The previous government turned many strong systems into toys and emphasised that they withstood many insults and stood firm to revive these systems…We entered politics to strengthen systems. Even if we had not come to power this time, we would have stood firm in democracy and worked to strengthen the system. By God’s grace, we have come to power. Ours is a good government, a responsible government.”

He further lamented that the state, once a model of excellent governance, had deteriorated drastically in the past five years, becoming an example of how governance should not be conducted.

He also stated that the IAS and IPS officers used to compete to work in the state and urged for a return to those conditions.

He called on the experience and governance skills of Chandrababu Naidu to restore the state’s former glory.

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan exercised his voting right at a polling booth in Mangalagiri, participating in both the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections and the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

In Mangalagiri, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Nara Lokesh is contesting, while Murugudu Lavanya represents the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.

The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections covers 96 Parliamentary Constituencies across nine states and one Union Territory, commencing at 7:00 am on Monday. Simultaneously, polling began for all 175 seats of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly and 28 seats of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly.

Among the 96 Lok Sabha seats, Andhra Pradesh accounts for 25, Telangana 17, Uttar Pradesh 13, Maharashtra 11, with smaller numbers from other states. A total of 4,264 nominations were filed for these constituencies.

During the election season, late-night discussions are a common occurrence, and on Thursday evening, the BJP leadership engaged in lengthy conversations with two regional parties to solidify a potential alliance.

N Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Telugu Desam Party, along with Pawan Kalyan, actor-turned-politician heading the Jana Sena, held talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding pre-poll tie-ups.

The TDP, having exited the BJP-led NDA in 2018 over the issue of special status for Andhra Pradesh, has shown interest in rejoining the coalition. Pawan Kalyan has played a role in facilitating the reconciliation between Naidu and the BJP.

With the BJP actively forming alliances to reach its target, the TDP-JS combination is on track for formal induction into the NDA. The intricacies of seat-sharing for both Lok Sabha and state elections are nearly finalized.

This new alliance provides the BJP an opportunity to establish a foothold in the southern state and increase its seat count in the general elections. The BJP-led NDA governments have emphasized social welfare schemes and incentives for consumers in the last decade, creating a vote bank of beneficiaries. Notably, the government announced a subsidy for cooking gas, extending a ₹12,000 crore benefit to 102.7 million poor households by providing a ₹300 subsidy on cooking gas refills for an additional year until March 31, 2025.

Since May 21, 2022, the government has been providing budgetary support for a targeted subsidy of ₹200 per 14.2kg LPG cylinder for PMUY beneficiaries, allowing up to 12 refills a year.

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan exits NDA to support Chandrababu Naidu

Pawan Kalyan, an actor and politician, said on Thursday that he had left the BJP-led NDA to help the TDP during these trying times.
He stated that Andhra Pradesh requires Janasena TDP for effective administration and growth.

“TDP is a strong party and Andhra Pradesh needs the Telugu Desam Party for good governance, for the development of the state. Today TDP is in a struggle we will support them. TDP needs Janasainks young blood support in this situation.
“If TDP and Janasena join hands YSRCP will be submerged in the state,” Pavan Kalyan said in a public meeting held at Pedana, in Krishna District.

On September 14, Pawan Kalyan paid a visit to Chandrababu Naidu at the Rajahmundry Central Jail, where the latter was detained after being charged in a “skill development scam.”
Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Janasena party, attended an NDA meeting in Delhi on July 18. Following the meeting, the actor and politician stated that his party would back Prime Minister Modi’s objectives.

“The entire meeting was extremely good and we discussed Atmanirbhar Bharat, skill India. And from our (party) side I promised PM Modi that we will stand by his vision and we will give our best” Pawan Kalyan had said.
Pawan Kalyan had also proposed an alliance of TDP, BJP, and his party in Andhra Pradesh) to fight YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. The BJP had yet to make a decision on this.
