Paresh Rawal Back in Hera Pheri 3, Calls Controversy Resolved

June 30, 2025, 8:50 am

A few weeks after announcing his exit from Hera Pheri 3, actor Paresh Rawal has now confirmed that he is officially back in the film. In a recent chat with Himanshu Mehta on his podcast, Paresh opened up about the situation around the movie and expressed admiration for Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and director Priyadarshan.

“No Controversy,” Says Paresh Rawal

When asked about the supposed issues surrounding Hera Pheri 3, Paresh dismissed any drama. He said, “Nahi controversy kuch nahi hai (There’s no controversy). I believe that when people have loved something so much, then you have to be extra careful. It is our responsibility toward the audience. The audience has given you so much adulation. You can’t take things for granted. Mehnat karke unko do (Work hard and give them the film). So I was of the opinion that sab saath mein aaye, mehnat karein. Aur kuch nahin (Everyone should come together, work hard). It is all resolved now.”

The Beloved Trio Will Reunite

When the host asked if the original trio would return in Hera Pheri 3, Paresh confirmed that the team had always been part of the project. He explained, “Pehle bhi aane hi waali thi (Earlier too the film was scheduled to release), but it’s just that we had to fine-tune ourselves (laughs). After all, all of them are creative, be it Priyadarshan, Akshay or Suniel. They are friends for many, many, many years.”

Fans Were Shocked by Paresh’s Exit

Earlier this year, fans were upset when news broke that Paresh had walked out of Hera Pheri 3. The trio of Akshay as Raju, Suniel as Shyam, and Paresh as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte—also known as Babu Bhaiya—has been loved by audiences for over two decades.

Following Paresh’s sudden exit, Akshay Kumar, who is also producing the film, reportedly took legal action. According to Bollywood Hungama, after quitting, Paresh returned the signing amount along with 15% interest.

His Iconic Role and Franchise History

Paresh became a fan favorite for his role as Babu Bhaiya in the Hera Pheri series. The original Hera Pheri hit theatres in 2000, directed by Priyadarshan, who is now returning for the third part. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006 and was directed by the late Neeraj Vora.

The first film also featured Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Tabu, Om Puri, and Gulshan Grover. The second part included stars like Bipasha Basu, Rimi Sen, Sharat Saxena, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, and Manoj Joshi.

Now, with the original trio reuniting and the controversy cleared, fans can once again look forward to the next chapter in the beloved comedy franchise.

Will Pankaj Tripathi Replace Paresh Rawal as Babu Bhaiya in Hera Pheri 3?

May 22, 2025, 6:51 pm

Following the unexpected departure of Paresh Rawal from Hera Pheri 3, leaving everyone in surprise, rumors surrounding the replacement of the original Babu Bhaiya have started floating on the web with the front runners of such replacements being Pankaj Tripathi, known for his comic and dramatic performances, for Priyadarshan’s third part of the much-beloved Hera Pheri series.

Akshay Kumar has issued a legal notice demanding 25 crores in damages from Paresh Rawal for quitting and disrupting the film’s production after signing agreements.

Pankaj Tripathi’s Response to Replacement Claims

During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pankaj Tripathi answered questions about the backstage buzz on social media about him joining Phir Hera Pheri 3. To that, the actor replied he had noticed the rumor online as well but promptly dismissed it.

Pankaj Tripathi added that he has huge respect for Paresh Rawal and described him as an excellent actor and added that he would most probably not do that role. “I am nobody compared to Paresh ji. I admire him too much, and I just don’t think that I would be suitable for that character,” he stated.

Fans Suspect PR Gimmick

Fans also believe the entire confrontation is a publicity stunt to market the film.” A marketing gimmick, it appears.”. But if not so, then there is no Hera Pheri without Babu Bhaiya.” The concept of all this being a marketing gimmick is not so impossible at all since it takes advantage of the actors’ characters in the movie.

Talking about the work front of Pankaj tripathi, on May 26, JioHotstar will begin streaming Criminal Justice 4, starring Pankaj Tripathi. The series also features Barkha Singh, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Mita Vasisht, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Khushboo Atre.

Paresh Rawal Reveals Unbelievable Healing Secret: Drinking His Own Urine | Watch

April 28, 2025, 12:08 pm

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal recently shared a surprising and unusual method of recovery that enabled him to recover faster after suffering a knee injury he had while shooting for Ghatak, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The injury happened on the sets of a scene, and Rawal was taken to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai by co-actors Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa.

Doctors initially informed Rawal that it would take him around three months to recover. But a surprise recommendation from action choreographer Veeru Devgan, actor Ajay Devgn’s father, altered the nature of his rehabilitation.

Veeru Devgan’s Surprise Suggestion

During the time that Paresh Rawal was being hospitalized, Veeru Devgan stopped by, doing another errand at the hospital. On hearing that Paresh was present, Veeru went up to him and asked him about the injury. When he heard that it was knee damage, Veeru recommended a surprising thing to him. “He told me to drink my own urine first thing in the morning,” Paresh revealed during a chat with Lallantop. He further said that Veeru advised against alcohol, red meat, and smoking throughout the time of recovery and keeping a clean diet to accelerate the healing process.

These clowns are embarrassing India every time they open their mouths. pic.twitter.com/cIysy0AIm5

— Roshan Rai (@RoshanKrRaii) April 27, 2025

Veeru’s suggestion, though strange, came from his experience with action people, since Paresh explained, “He said all action people do that.”

Rawal’s devotion to the Cure

Brought to a conclusion to keep working on the proposal, Paresh resolved to take the ordeal into his own hands. “I had decided if I had to drink my own urine, I’ll not have it at one go; I’ll sip it like beer. Because I want to do it properly,” he said. He maintained that practice for 15 days, hoping it would have a good effect.

When Paresh came back for an X-ray after 15 days, the outcome astonished both him and the doctor. “The doctor asked me, ‘How did this cementing happen?'” Paresh said, pointing to the white line that had developed on the X-ray, marking the healing process. “I was supposed to be discharged in 2-2.5 months, but I was discharged in 1.5 months. It was like magic,” he testified, speaking of his wonder at how fast he had recovered.

Fans React to Paresh Rawal’s Story

The actor’s revelation left his fans stunned. “Paresh Rawal just ruined beer for me,” one of his fans posted on social media. Another fan was in denial, posting, “How is this even possible?” Some even believed it was a prank, with one posting, “This is information I really didn’t need.”

On the professional front, Paresh Rawal was last seen in The Storyteller, where he played the role of Tarini Bandyopadhyay. The actor has multiple films in the pipeline, including Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar, Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana, and Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay and Suniel Shetty.

Paresh Rawal Calls Hera Pheri Role ‘Gale Ka Fanda’, Seeks to Break Free from It

April 27, 2025, 10:51 pm

The stint of Paresh Rawal in the comedy movie Hera Pheri as Babu Rao is legendary. The actor spoke about how that role made a difference to him in an interview with The Lallantop recently, saying that he felt he had become typecast in comic characters. Paresh stated that the Hera Pheri role felt like a ‘gale ka fanda (noose).’

What Paresh uttered on Hera Pheri

At the interaction, Paresh uttered, “Woh gale ka fanda hain. Main 2007 mein Vishal Bharadwaj ji ke paas gaya tha. 2006 mein part 2 release ho gayi thi. Ki mere paas ek film he, mujhe iski jo ek image hain na usse chhutkara chahiye. Same getup ke andar alag kissam ka role. Woh aap kar ke de sakte hain mujhe.”. Uss jisme jo bhi ata he uske andar Hera Pheri hain. Leading actor hu yaar, mujhe phasna nahi he iss daldal main (It is like a noose. I went to Vishal Bharadwaj in 2007, after the sequel came out in 2006. I told him that I wanted to shed that image and play another character with the same getup. Only he could do that. Whoever approached me had that Hera Pheri image. I am an actor and I don’t want to be trapped in that image).

Paresh Rawal says ‘Khushi toh hoti hein…’

Paresh Rawal continued to say, “Phir main gaya 2022 me R Balki ke paas. I told him kuch karke do na tod ke do. Yeh nahi toh kuch dusra karo. Isi get up mein mujhe kuch dusra character do. Mujhe dum ghutta hain. Khushi toh hoti hein yaar but ye bahoot hi bandhne waali cheez hain. Isse mukti chahiye, liberation chahiye (In 2022, then I went to R Balki. I asked him to do something, possibly the same getup but a different role. I am suffocating. It makes me happy yes, but there is some pull towards it. I want liberation from that).”

Priyadarshan, in January, had announced that he will once again direct Hera Pheri 3. It will see the return of Paresh along with Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty. The original Hera Pheri was released in 2000. It was a success and has become a cult classic since then. The second installment, which was released in 2006, was directed by late Neeraj Vora.

Paresh Rawal Left Akshay Kumar Starrer OMG 2 Due To Monetary Issues?

July 13, 2023, 3:03 pm

Since the announcement of Amit Rai’s directorial Oh My God 2, fans were expecting to again witness the chemistry of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, but to everyone’s dissapointment, Paresh Rawal stepped down from the project.

A report in Bollywood Hungama revealed, “Paresh was definitely the first choice for Oh My God! 2, in-fact the makers had even started a conversation with him. However, the actor believed that he deserved money over and above his market value as he was the lead actor in the first part and was a major reason for its success. However, the makers felt that paying more would take the budget haywire.” The source added, “After multiple attempts to be on the same page, the monetary deal didn’t work out and eventually Paresh decided to part ways as he strongly felt that he deserved more than what he was offered.”

Earlier, Paresh Rawal told Bollywood Bubble, “I didn’t like the script so didn’t want to be a part of it. I don’t like making a sequel just to encash on the first part like we did in the case of Hera Pheri.”

The film is ready to release on August 11 and will clash with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 at the box office.
