Following the unexpected departure of Paresh Rawal from Hera Pheri 3, leaving everyone in surprise, rumors surrounding the replacement of the original Babu Bhaiya have started floating on the web with the front runners of such replacements being Pankaj Tripathi, known for his comic and dramatic performances, for Priyadarshan’s third part of the much-beloved Hera Pheri series.

Akshay Kumar has issued a legal notice demanding 25 crores in damages from Paresh Rawal for quitting and disrupting the film’s production after signing agreements.

Pankaj Tripathi’s Response to Replacement Claims

During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pankaj Tripathi answered questions about the backstage buzz on social media about him joining Phir Hera Pheri 3. To that, the actor replied he had noticed the rumor online as well but promptly dismissed it.

Pankaj Tripathi added that he has huge respect for Paresh Rawal and described him as an excellent actor and added that he would most probably not do that role. “I am nobody compared to Paresh ji. I admire him too much, and I just don’t think that I would be suitable for that character,” he stated.

Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law dies in car accident

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari, known as Munna Tiwari, tragically passed away, and his sister, Sabita Tiwari, was injured in a car accident near Nirsa Chowk on GT Road in Dhanbad on Saturday evening, officials confirmed.

Rajesh and Sabita were traveling from Gopalganj, Bihar, to Chittaranjan in West Bengal when the accident occurred around 4:30 PM at Nirsa Bazar on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2. The couple was en route to West Bengal to witness the shooting of Pankaj Tripathi’s film.

After the accident, they were immediately taken to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad. Sadly, Rajesh was declared dead upon arrival, while Sabita, who suffered a leg fracture, is currently in stable condition.

The accident reportedly happened when Rajesh, driving the car, swerved to avoid an auto at Nirsa Chowk, leading to the car climbing onto a three-foot-high divider.

The third entry in the comedy series Fukrey is now available. On September 28, Mrigdeep Singh Lamba’s Fukrey 3 appeared in theaters alongside Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War. According to Bollywood Hungama, the second installment of the Fukrey franchise, Fukrey Returns, was released in 2017 and grossed Rs 8.10 crore on its opening day. During its theatrical run, the film earned Rs 80.32 crore. The first installment, Fukrey, which was released in 2013, only made Rs 36.5 crore throughout its theatrical run.

Fukrey 3 debuted with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War, and while the two films appeared to be competing, The Vaccine War only made Rs 1.3 crore on its first day. Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and launched earlier this month, is still doing well at the box office, despite the fact that tickets are currently available on a ‘buy one, get one free’ basis. Jawan earned Rs 5.50 crore on its 22nd day, bringing the film’s total domestic earnings to Rs 581.43 crore.

Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, passed away on Monday at the age of 99.

The actor and family members confirmed the news of his father’s demise.
The family released a statement saying, “It’s with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj.”

The actor was very close to his father, a farmer who also doubled up as a priest.

The actor left for his native village, Gopalgaj in Bihar, after receiving word of his father’s demise.

On the work front, Tripathi’s latest release, Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’, has been garnering a good response from the audience post-release.
He will be next seen portraying former Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ‘Main Atal Hoon’.

‘One should never forget his/her roots’, says Pankaj Tripathi

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of the finest working actors in the Hindi film industry.

The 47-year-old, who hails from Bihar has come a long way by doing movies like ‘Ludo’, ‘Kaagaz’ and ‘Criminal Justice’, ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘Run’.

During the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Pamkaj talked about his journey and said, “I come from a very simple family. I belong to a village where we even struggled to get the basic facility of electricity but we were happy. I was living far from the world of acting and now my entire life is all about acting. My love for cinema developed organically. I used to watch plays in my hometown .. that’s when I actually developed a major interest in theatre and then I moved to Delhi and joined the National School Of Drama (NSD). After a few years, I went to the city of dreams Mumbai and since then I have been learning the craft of cinema and trying my best to showcase my skills via my acting on screen. This journey is beyond any dream I saw.”

‘Mirzapur’ actor feels that because of his roots he has actually carved a niche in the film industry.

“One should never forget his/her roots. If you forget your roots then it becomes difficult to survive. Be it a person or a story or a plant, everything in this world is rooted. Whatever I am today is all because of my roots,” Pankaj said.

Meanwhile, Pankaj is a role model for many young aspiring actors and, Pankaj shared a piece of advice.

“One should never get into this profession only for money and fame. First understand why you want to come here ( in the film industry).. understand your love, and your needs. Kaam dil se karoge paisa zarur miljaega life me (Money will eventually come to you at one point),” Tripathi said.

“I still remember my first paycheck was Rs 1700 for a brief TV stint,” Tripathi said.

However, Pankaj has worked for over 15 years in the industry and has set a benchmark in Hindi cinema.

The Satish Kaushik directorial is based in Uttar Pradesh, and Tripathi, hailing from the heartland, says he understood the complexity of the situation that the story portrays. “The film is a satirical take on a real situation that has happened in the past with a man. Being a person from that landscape, I understand the complexity of the situation. I belong to that world and feel like I am part of that society that I have an insight on. So, when the film offer came from Satish sir, I immediately said yes,” Tripathi told IANS. ‘Kaagaz’ is produced by Salman Khan and also features Monal Gajjar, Amar Upadhyay and Lankesh Bhardwaj, among others.

Tripathi, who has made his mark in the mainstream as well as offbeat content across the platforms of cinema and OTT, agrees with the view that there is room for all kinds of films to co-exist. “We should have every kind of film — whether a film has a message or is set in current affairs, mirrors society or is just an out-and-out entertaining film. We should leave it to the filmmakers. I believe the co-existence of both kinds of films is important. No matter what, an audience watches a film primarily to be entertained. If there is a message conveyed by the maker, it is his choice,” he said. “In a democracy, while it is the right of the people to express their opinion, we should remember that if someone does not want to express their opinion through cinema or their work publicly that is their choice and we should not judge that,” added Tripathi. ‘Kaagaz’ releases on Zee5 on 7 January.

New Delhi: With several hit directorial projects, including the likes of Tere Naam and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, over the last two decades, veteran filmmaker and actor Satish Kaushik has many films to be proud of. After a break of about six years, he’s now looking forward to his directorial comeback project, Kaagaz.

Starring talented actor Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role, the film is presented by Salman Khan Films along with Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production and produced by Salma Khan, Nishant Kaushik, and Vikas Malu. The story of Kaagaz has been conceptualised and directed by Kaushik and he proudly says that the film gave him an opportunity to reinvent himself, not just as an artiste, but also as a director.

MUMBAI: The Pankaj Tripathi-starrer ‘Kaagaz’, helmed by Satish Kaushik, will release digitally and in select theatres of Uttar Pradesh on 7 January next year.

A satirical comedy based in a small village of Uttar Pradesh, the story is about a man who was declared dead on paper, and tirelessly tries to prove he is alive. “‘Kaagaz’ is a brilliantly written true story. It depicts a common man’s humorous journey on identity crisis. My character will be quite different from some of my recent ventures and I am excited to be a part of such an inspiring story,” said Tripathi. Kaushik, who has directed and also acted in the film, shared: “I remember reading about the story of Lal Bihari Mritak in the news for the first time, I was intrigued and inspired with his journey, so I did a lot of research on the events that took place in his life. MUMBAI: Kirti Kulhari stars in ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors’, and she says the new season is more convoluted and gripping than the first part of the web series. The trailer of ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors’ has been released. While Anu Chandra (Kirti) confesses that she has stabbed her husband, the motive is not known.
