</excerpt>

Former US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, slammed Pakistan on Thursday over the Pahalgam terror attack. She stated that Islamabad could no longer play the victim. Her remarks came in the wake of India launching strikes against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

India Launches ‘Operation Sindoor’ Against Terror Camps

Under ‘Operation Sindoor‘, India launched military strikes on locations linked to terror outfits, such as Jaish and Lashkar, in Pakistan and PoK. Earlier today, the Indian army neutralized Pakistani Air Defence Radars in various areas, including Lahore.

“Terrorists launched an attack that killed dozens of Indian citizens. India had every right to retaliate and defend itself. Pakistan does not get to play the victim. No country gets a pass for supporting terrorist activity,” said Haley in an X post.

In spite of international support for India’s right to retaliate and protect its territorial integrity following the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan is stepping up efforts to present itself as a victim by publicizing false reports that civilians were targeted during ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Nine Terror Camps Targeted in Pakistan and PoK

The Ministry of Defence stated that Indian Armed Forces attacked nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, from where terrorist attacks on India were planned, under the codename ‘Operation Sindoor’.

India insisted that only terror hideouts, and not military bases of the country, or civilians were attacked. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature… India has shown considerable restraint in choosing targets and manner of execution,” the government said in a release.

India Rebuts Civilian Casualty Allegations

The government once more on Thursday rejected the claims by the government that civilians were targeted in attacks, stating: “The people killed at these facilities were terrorists. Granting terrorists state funerals, perhaps a practice in Pakistan.”

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri further noted that if only civilians were killed in the attacks, “I wonder what message this picture (of State funerals) actually sends to all of you. This is a question that is worth asking”.

</excerpt>

Trump Excludes Haley and Pompeo from Administration

Days after securing his 2024 US presidential victory, President-elect Donald Trump revealed that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would not be included in his upcoming administration. Trump shared this announcement via Truth Social on Saturday, expressing his appreciation for both figures and their past service. He said, “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously” and wished them well as he begins assembling his administration.

Haley Responds with Grace, Extends Well Wishes

In response, Haley, who served as US Ambassador to the United Nations under Trump and ran against him in the Republican primary, offered a gracious statement. Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), she congratulated Trump on his victory and expressed no resentment over her exclusion. “I was proud to work with President Trump defending America at the United Nations,” she said. “I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years.”

Haley and Trump’s Complex Relationship

Despite their past differences, Haley has remained an outspoken Trump supporter, endorsing his 2024 campaign while also acknowledging that she doesn’t always agree with him. Earlier, she wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, stating that while she doesn’t always align with Trump, she felt he was the best option compared to his opponents, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris. Her relationship with Trump has been marked by both cooperation and disagreement, but she continues to express respect for his leadership.

Pompeo’s Support and Past Contributions

Meanwhile, Pompeo, a former CIA director under Trump, has also shown support for the president-elect, despite not being one of Trump’s most vocal allies. Pompeo publicly endorsed Trump’s 2024 run in an open letter with over 400 signatories. Like Haley, Pompeo did not receive an invitation to return to a prominent position in Trump’s second administration.

Trump’s Post-Election Plans and New Appointments

With the 2024 election now behind him, Trump has begun shaping his administration. He recently announced Susie Wiles, his campaign manager, as the incoming White House Chief of Staff. The inauguration committee, co-chaired by real estate investor Steve Witkoff and former Senator Kelly Loeffler, is set to organize events leading up to Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025.

Trump expressed his excitement over the upcoming presidential transition, calling it “the kick-off to my administration,” which will focus on delivering the “America First” agenda. He emphasized that his victory was a testament to the support of millions of hardworking Americans, vowing to restore strength and success to the country.

Inaugural Celebrations to Mark Historic Moment

Trump’s inauguration will be a momentous occasion, steeped in tradition and history. The event will include a swearing-in ceremony, inaugural address, and other celebratory activities organized by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC). The inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025, at the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

</excerpt>

Donald Trump, recently re-elected as the 47th President of the United States, announced on Saturday night that former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be part of his future administration. In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared that while he appreciated their previous service, he has decided not to include them in his administration-in-formation. “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country,” Trump wrote, reaffirming his commitment to “Make America Great Again.”

The decision not to include Haley and Pompeo is seen as part of Trump’s broader vision for his second term. Trump, who defeated Democratic opponent Kamala Harris on November 5, becomes only the second U.S. president to serve non-consecutive terms, after Grover Cleveland.

Trump’s Rocky History with Haley and Pompeo

Haley’s exclusion follows a complicated history with Trump. Though she endorsed him just before the election, her prior run against him and occasional criticisms likely contributed to Trump’s decision. During her campaign for the GOP primary, Haley expressed reservations about Trump, though she ultimately declared him “clearly the better choice” over Harris in a Wall Street Journal op-ed.

Pompeo, who endorsed Trump for 2024, also faced skepticism from some MAGA supporters. His perceived lack of strong support for Trump during recent controversies and his endorsement of special counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents investigation garnered mixed reactions. Despite these issues, Pompeo voiced his alignment with Trump’s vision, signing a letter with over 400 other signatories to emphasize concerns about the Biden administration’s policies on national security. The October letter expressed grave concerns about escalating conflicts and security challenges under the current administration.

Trump’s decision appears to mark a shift towards a team that more fully aligns with his vision for the 2025 administration, as he prepares for his unprecedented second term.

In her Wall Street Journal op-ed, Haley discusses key policy differences that favor Trump’s leadership.
</excerpt>

Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former governor of South Carolina, openly endorsed Donald Trump as the superior candidate for the upcoming presidential election. In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Haley emphasized her alignment with Trump’s policies over those of Vice President Kamala Harris, particularly on issues of national security, economic strategy, and energy.

Highlighting Trump’s Policy Strengths

In her op-ed, Haley, who served under Trump’s administration, explained that while she doesn’t agree with all of Trump’s decisions, his overall policy approach aligns more with her vision for the nation. She praised Trump’s stances on reducing taxes, curbing inflation, controlling immigration, and boosting American energy independence.

“No politician gets everything right,” Haley wrote. “But on issues that matter the most to me—taxes, spending, energy, and national security—Trump is clearly the better choice.”

Criticism of Harris’s Record

Haley didn’t shy away from criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s track record, particularly on international matters. She pointed to recent foreign policy challenges, like the situation in Afghanistan and the growing tensions with Iran and China, which she believes were poorly handled.

“The Biden-Harris agenda has made the world far more dangerous,” Haley claimed. “Their approach to Afghanistan, border security, and their passive stance towards China and Iran has emboldened our adversaries.”

Economic & Energy Independence as Key Issues

Haley also highlighted Trump’s economic policies, arguing that his focus on lowering taxes and expanding American energy production are vital for sustaining U.S. independence and growth. She credited Trump’s approach as one that prioritizes the middle class and reduces reliance on foreign energy sources.

A Call to Undecided Voters

In her closing remarks, Haley urged undecided voters to review the candidates’ policy proposals carefully. She emphasized that, despite Trump’s imperfections, his policies better reflect the priorities necessary to strengthen America’s position both domestically and internationally.

With just days before Election Day, Haley’s endorsement reflects the sharp policy divide between Trump and Harris, adding another influential voice to the heated campaign.

</excerpt>

Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis endorsed Donald Trump at the 2024 Republican National Convention, showcasing party unity. This comes just days after Trump survived an assassination attempt, solidifying his position as the Republican presidential nominee.

United Support

Nikki Haley, the former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina governor, had previously criticized Trump during her campaign. Now, she encourages her supporters to vote for Trump over Democratic President Joe Biden, stressing the importance of national unity. “You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him,” she said. “Take it from me.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, whose campaign faced challenges earlier this year, received a warm reception as he criticized Biden’s age. Trump smiled and applauded from his seat in the arena, accompanied by his new running mate, Senator J.D. Vance.

A Resilient Candidate

Trump’s nomination follows his narrow escape from an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania campaign rally. Despite the incident, Trump appeared energetic at the convention, entering the arena to loud cheers. His heavily bandaged ear served as a reminder of the recent attack.

Focus on Law and Order

Speeches at the convention centered on law and order, echoing Trump’s strict immigration policies. High-profile speakers, including Senate candidates Kari Lake and Bernie Moreno, as well as Senators Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton, criticized Biden’s border policies and described the influx of migrants as an ‘invasion.’

Personal stories, such as Anne Fundner’s account of her son’s death from fentanyl poisoning and the Morin family’s grief over Rachel Morin’s murder by an illegal immigrant, highlighted the perceived dangers of current immigration policies. Trump has pledged to launch the largest deportation effort in U.S. history to enhance national security.

A Divided Nation

The convention’s message of unity contrasted with the Democratic Party’s internal debates about Biden’s suitability for a second term, particularly after his shaky performance in a recent debate against Trump. Despite calls for him to step aside, Biden remains committed to running for re-election.

Voter concerns about national division have increased following the assassination attempt on Trump. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll indicated that 80% of voters, including similar numbers of Republicans and Democrats, believe the country is spiraling out of control.

Looking Forward

The convention will conclude with Trump’s prime-time speech on Thursday, where he will formally accept the party’s nomination, setting the stage for a rematch against Biden in the November election. Before that, J.D. Vance will deliver a key speech aimed at energizing the Republican base and appealing to moderate voters.

The unity displayed at the Republican convention highlights the party’s efforts to consolidate support and present a strong challenge to the current administration as the nation gears up for the upcoming election.

In July 2024, anti-immigration presidential candidate Donald J. Trump chose Ohio Senator JD Vance as his Vice President. Notably, Vance’s Indian-origin wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, adds an unprecedented element to the ticket. Usha, daughter of Telugu-speaking immigrants, holds impressive degrees from Yale University and the University of Cambridge. A former litigator who clerked for Supreme Court Justices, Usha has been instrumental in her husband’s political success.

Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris, the first woman, first black American, and the first South Asian person elected Vice President of the United States, has a significant political career. Raised by a Jamaican father and an Indian-born mother, Harris has served as San Francisco’s district attorney and California’s attorney general. She announced her presidential bid in 2019 but eventually endorsed Joe Biden, with whom she secured the vice presidency in January 2021.

Earlier in March, Nikki Haley, the first Indian American to serve in a presidential cabinet, announced her withdrawal from the Republican presidential race, wishing Donald Trump ‘good luck.’ Her father had been battling cancer, and both of Haley’s parents had moved from India to rural South Carolina in 1969.

In a provocative move, former U.S. presidential hopeful Nikki Haley was photographed writing “Finish Them” on an Israeli shell during a tour of sites near the northern border with Lebanon. The photograph, posted on social media platform X by Israeli parliament member and former UN ambassador Danny Danon, has stirred significant attention and debate.

Danon, who accompanied Haley on her visit, shared the image of a kneeling Haley inscribing the message with a purple marker. “‘Finish Them’. This is what my friend the former ambassador Nikki Haley wrote,” Danon captioned the post, which quickly garnered widespread reactions.

Haley, known for her hawkish stance during her tenure as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under Donald Trump, has a history of strong support for Israel. Her latest action comes amid the ongoing Gaza war, triggered by Hamas’s October 7 attack on southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,189 people, mostly civilians, according to the latest figures from Israeli officials compiled by AFP.

In retaliation, Israel’s offensive in Gaza has led to the deaths of at least 36,096 people, predominantly civilians, according to the Gaza health ministry. The conflict has also seen militants taking 252 hostages, with 121 still remaining in Gaza, including 37 who the Israeli army says are dead.

Haley, who abandoned her presidential bid in March after heavy defeats in the Republican primary contests to Trump, recently reaffirmed her support for the former president. Despite Trump ruling her out as a vice presidential candidate, Haley is considered a potential presidential contender for 2028.

The White House, meanwhile, stated that President Joe Biden has no plans to alter his Israel policy in light of a recent deadly strike on Rafah. However, it emphasized that Biden is not ignoring the plight of Palestinian civilians.

Haley’s message has drawn both criticism and support, highlighting the deep divisions and intense emotions surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict. Her words have further cemented her image as a staunch ally of Israel and a polarizing figure in American and international politics.

In her first national security speech since suspending her presidential campaign, Nikki Haley announced her intention to vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Despite her criticisms of the former president’s policies, Haley emphasized that President Joe Biden has been a “catastrophe” for the country.

Speaking at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., Nikki Haley said, “Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So I will be voting for Trump. Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech.”

Haley highlighted the importance for Trump to earn the support of her voters, stating, “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they’re just going to be with him.”

Haley’s endorsement comes after she previously refrained from supporting Trump during her earlier campaigns. She had urged Trump to “earn the votes of those in our party and beyond who did not support him.”

Her declaration of support coincides with her new role as the Walter P. Stern professor at the conservative Hudson Institute. During her speech, she criticized the growing trend towards isolationism within the Republican Party and lambasted Biden’s foreign policy.

“A loud part of each party wants us to abandon our allies, appease our enemies, and focus only on the problems we have at home,” Haley said. “This worldview has already put America in great danger — and the threat is mounting by the day.”

The Biden campaign responded swiftly to Haley’s remarks. Biden spokesperson Michael Tyler asserted that there remains a segment of GOP voters who reject “the chaos, division, and violence that Donald Trump embodies.” Tyler added, “Nothing has changed for the millions of Republican voters who continue to cast their ballots against Donald Trump in the primaries and care deeply about the future of our democracy, standing strong with our allies against foreign adversaries, and working across the aisle to get things done for the American people.”

Haley, the former Governor of South Carolina and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, previewed her role leading up to the November election. As she criticizes Biden, she champions an interventionist foreign policy, particularly in her support for Israel. Haley announced plans to visit Israel soon to demonstrate her backing for the Israeli people.

Haley’s speech underscores her unique position within the GOP, balancing her critiques of Biden with a call for Trump to actively engage with her supporters. As the election approaches, her influence and stance on foreign policy will likely shape discussions within the party.

Haley secured 1,274 votes compared to Trump’s 676, with all precincts reporting.

This marks Haley’s first win over Trump in the 2024 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. The primary took place in a downtown hotel near Washington DC’s lobbying hub over the weekend. Haley reportedly won nearly 63% of the vote, according to Republican party officials.

The DC Republican electorate, comprising only 5% of registered voters, is not representative of the conservative base found in other parts of the US, noted Politico. Patrick Mara, chair of the DC Republican Party, described the electorate as “a little more sophisticated than just about any universe in any other state.”

Despite her victory, Haley has not indicated whether she will continue her campaign after the upcoming contests. Trump still leads in delegates and is expected to gain significantly on Super Tuesday, with 16 states, including American Samoa, casting their votes on March 5.

The Democratic primary in DC is scheduled for June.

</excerpt>

Indian-American Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley has outlined her commitment to bolstering alliances, expressing her administration’s focus on strengthening ties with NATO and several other countries, including India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines.

Haley voiced concerns about the potential threat to NATO if former President Donald Trump were to be re-elected, stating, “I’m worried about a lot of things if Trump is re-elected. That is one of them.” She emphasized the importance of keeping alliances robust, highlighting NATO’s 75-year success story and its deterrent effect on Russia and China.

Responding to Trump’s remarks in South Carolina, where he suggested allowing Russia freedom in dealing with NATO countries not meeting defense spending guidelines, Haley criticized the stance as “bone-chilling” and empowering to Russian President Vladimir Putin. She pledged to strengthen alliances and broaden friendships, emphasizing the need to stand firm with allies to deter adversaries.

Haley criticized incumbent President Joe Biden, claiming that his policies have emboldened America’s enemies, leading to increased aggression. She highlighted concerns related to Russia’s actions in Ukraine and the Baltics, underscoring the importance of preventing potential conflicts.

In her vision as president, Haley promised to not only reinforce NATO but also enhance alliances with key countries, aiming for America to have more friends on the global stage

</excerpt>

Nikki Haley, an Indian-American Republican presidential candidate, has stated that if elected, her administration will enhance alliances with India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, in addition to NATO.
Haley, 52, the former US Ambassador to the United Nations, stated that if former US President Donald Trump is re-elected, a threat to the NATO alliance is one of her main concerns.

“I’m worried about a lot of things if Trump is re-elected. That is one of them,” she told ABC News, adding that NATO is a 75-year success story.

Haley is the sole remaining challenger against Trump in the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential primary race.

According to Haley, a two-term former South Carolina governor, Russia has never invaded a NATO territory because the organization has historically frightened Russia.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an intergovernmental military alliance comprised of 31 member states, 29 European and two North American.

Even China is terrified by this cooperation. As a result, Haley believes that NATO must remain strong.

Haley was replying to a question on Trump’s words in South Carolina a week earlier, when he said he would welcome Russia to do “whatever the hell they want” to any NATO member countries that fails to fulfill defense expenditure criteria.

It is critical to expand one’s social circle. This is not the moment to end an alliance. This is not the time to stand with a thug while ignoring friends that supported America following the September 11 attacks, Haley said.

“We have to make sure that we stand firm. Because when we stand firm with our friends, our enemies stay on their heels. When we start to show any weakening of those alliances, that’s when our enemies move. That’s why we’re seeing China on the march. That’s why we’re seeing Iran want to build a nuclear bomb. That’s why we’re seeing Russia start to move towards Poland and the Baltics,” she said.

“And that’s what I promise I will do as president, is we not only will strengthen NATO, we will strengthen alliances with India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines. We will add to the fold. This is about America having more friends, not less friends,” Haley said in response to a question.

Haley described Trump’s NATO comments as “bone-chilling” and motivating for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“And all he did in that moment was, he sided with a guy who kills his political opponents, he sided with a thug who arrests American journalists and holds them hostage,” she said.

Haley also accused incumbent President Joe Biden, a Democrat, of failing on several fronts.

“That has emboldened our enemies. That’s why you see them moving. It happened after the fall of Afghanistan. It is continuing to happen. Then they go and they see the other opponent running for – for president and they see that he doesn’t worry about Putin invading Ukraine. So, what does Putin do? He goes and now he’s starting to put soldiers around the Baltics. He’s moving in for the next era,” she said.

“Let’s remind the American people that Putin said once he takes Ukraine, Poland and the Baltics are next. Now he is putting soldiers around those countries, just like he did Ukraine. And if that happens, those are NATO countries. That immediately puts America at war. That is what we are trying to avoid. And that’s why this aid package is so important,” she said.

</excerpt>

Nikki Haley, Indian- American presidential candidate aimed attack on the Republican rival Donald Trump in an attempt to help her gain momentum ahead of the US election.

As Haley had previously served as the UN ambassador under Trump, she claims that the former president was mentally unfit to be running for the top post. She hits back to her former boss after Trump blamed her for failing to stop the Jan 6 insurrection of the US Capital in 2021 — an apparent name mix-up with then US House speaker Nancy Pelosi.

She said, “Last night, Trump is at a rally…and he’s going on and on, mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots, why I didn’t handle January 6 better. I wasn’t even in DC on January 6. I wasn’t in office then.”

Since the Republicans used Joe Biden’s old age to attack the Democrats and label him incapable of handling the top post, Haley has now used this strategy to aim on Trump.

“Do we really want to have two 80-year-olds running for president, when we’ve got a country in disarray and a world on fire?” the 52-year-old said at a recent public meeting in New Hampshire, the second state after Iowa to cast ballots.

Further Haley also targeted Trump’s relationship with China’s Xi Jinping, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

</excerpt>

Conservative talk radio presenter Larry Elder announced his candidature for the Republican presidential ticket as the 2024 US presidential elections drew nearer, according to The Washington Post.

On Thursday, Larry Elder tweeted, “America is in decline, but this decline is not inevitable.” “A new American Golden Age is possible, but we must first find a leader who can lead us there. The message continued, “That’s why I’m running for President,” as Elder declared his candidature.

Elder joins a burgeoning Republican field headed by former president Donald Trump, which also includes software entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson, and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, reported The Washington Post.
Last week, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) announced the formation of an exploratory committee; other potential candidates include Governor Ron DeSantis (R) of Florida and ex-Vice President Mike Pence.

According to the Washington Post, Elder listed among other concerns on the website for his impending presidential campaign the need to fight crime, advance racial harmony, deal with inflation, strengthen the economy, and safeguard the border.

Donald Trump, former US president, filed papers to run for president once more in November of last year. According to CNN, he submitted the paperwork proving his eligibility to run for president again in 2024. His announcement was made immediately following the US midterm elections.
